In This paper, we investigated the single step prediction for output responses of chaotic system with multi Input multi output using chaotic neural networks. Since the systems with chaotic characteristics are coupled between internal parameters, the chaotic neural networks is very suitable for output response prediction of chaotic system. To evaluate the performance of the proposed neural network predictor, we adopt for Lorenz attractor with chaotic responses and compare the results with recurrent neural networks. The results demonstrated superior performance on convergence and computation time than the predictor using recurrent neural networks. And we could also see good predictive capability of chaotic neural network predictor.

This paper investigates the description ability of chaotic feature vector to dynamic textures. First a chaotic feature and other features are calculated from each pixel intensity series. Then these features are combined to a chaotic feature vector. Therefore a video is modeled as a feature vector matrix. Next by the aid of bag of words framework, we explore the representation ability of the proposed chaotic feature vector. Finally we investigate recognition rate between different combinations of chaotic features. Experimental results show the merit of chaotic feature vector for pixel intensity series representation.
In this paper, we propose new digital optimal control approach for controlling continuous-time nonlinear chaotic systems, which show very complex behavior and cannot be easily controlled by conventional control methods. Most real systems are represented as continuous-time system, whereas some control methods should be implemented under the condition of computer-based platforms, which are discrete-time systems. To achieve the control objective for chaotic systems successfully, the sampled-data controller, which considers the inter-sample behavior of the continuous-time systems effectively, should be needed. The proposed optimal controller is designed based on the linearized estimation model of chaotic systems. By the computer simulation, we show the control ...
In this paper, the Generalized Predictive Control(GPC) method based on Fuzzy Neural Networks(FNNs) is presented for the control of chaotic nonlinear systems without precise mathematical models. In our method, FNNs is used as the predictor whose parameters are tuned by the error between the actual output of nonlinear chaotic system and that of FNNs model. The parameters of GPC controller are adjusted via the gradient descent method where the difference between the actual output and the reference signal is used as a control error. Finally, computer simulation on the representative continuous-time chaotic system(Duffing system) is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of our chaos control method.
This paper presents a design method of the wavelet neural network(WNN) controller based on a direct adaptive control scheme for the intelligent control of chaotic systems. The conventional control methods such as optimal control, adaptive control and robust control may not be feasible when an explicit, faithful mathematical model cannot be constructed. Therefore, an intelligent control system that is an on-line trained WNN controller based on a direct adaptive control method is proposed to control chaotic systems whose mathematical models are not available. The gradient-descent method is used for training a wavelet neural network controller. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control method is demonstrated with applications to the chaotic system.
This paper proposes the generalized predictive control(GPC) method of chaotic systems using a self-recurrent wavelet neural network(SRWNN). The reposed SRWNN, a modified model of a wavelet neural network(WNN), has the attractive ability such as dynamic attractor, information storage for later use. Unlike a WNN, since the SRWNN has the mother wavelet layer which is composed of self-feedback neurons, mother wavelet nodes of the SRWNN can store the past information of the network. Thus the SRWNN can be used as a good tool for predicting the dynamic property of nonlinear dynamic systems. In our method, the gradient-descent(GD) method is used to train the SRWNN structure. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the SRWNN based GPC is demonstrated with applications to a chaotic system.

In this paper, we propose a novel dynamical love model of Romeo and Juliet, which has an external force with a fuzzy membership function. The external force used in the model has the characteristics of a Gaussian function. The chaotic behavior in the model is demonstrated using time series and phase portraits.

This research provides the results of a trial to generate the chaos by using nonlinear function constructed by fuzzy inference rules. The chaos generation function or chaotic behavior can be obtained by using Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model with some constraint of the relationship of its parameters. Two examples are shown in this research. The first is simple example that construct of logistic image by fuzzy model. The second is more complicated one that provide the chaotic time series by non-linear autoregression based on fuzzy model. Simulated results are shown in these examples.
In order to fully reflect variation characteristics of composite concrete dam health state, the monitoring data is applied to diagnose composite concrete dam health state. Composite concrete dam lesion development to wreckage is a precursor, and its health status can be judged. The monitoring data are generally non-linear and unsteady time series, which contain chaotic information that cannot be characterized. Thus, it could generate huge influence for the construction of monitoring models and the formulation of corresponding health diagnostic indicators. This multi-scale diagnosis process is from point to whole. Chaotic characteristics are often contained in the monitoring data. If chaotic characteristics could be extracted for reflecting concrete dam health state and the corresponding diagnostic indicators will be formulated, the theory and method of diagnosing concrete dam health state can be huge improved. Therefore, the chaotic characteristics of monitoring data are considered. And, the extracting method of the chaotic components is studied from monitoring data based on fuzzy dynamic cross-correlation factor method. Finally, a method is proposed for formulating composite concrete dam health state indicators. This method can effectively distinguish chaotic systems from deterministic systems and reflect the health state of concrete dam in service.
Vibration-based damage detection methods are popular for structural health monitoring. However, they can only detect fairly large damages. Usually impact pulse, ambient vibrations and sine-wave forces are applied as the excitations. In this paper, we propose the method to use the chaotic excitation to vibrate structures. The attractors built from the output responses are used for the minor damage detection. After the damage is detected, it is further quantified using the Kalman Filter. Simulations are conducted. A 5-story building is subjected to chaotic excitation. The structural responses and related attractors are analyzed. The results show that the attractor distances increase monotonously with the increase of the damage degree. Therefore, damages, including minor damages, can be effectively detected using the proposed approach. With the Kalman Filter, damage which has the stiffness decrease of about 5% or lower can be quantified. The proposed approach will be helpful for detecting and evaluating minor damages at the early stage.
