백당으로 가교된 폴리아크릴산 하이드로겔의 In vitro 점막부착력 평가 (In vitro Mucoadhesion Evaluation of Poly(Acrylic Acid) Hydrogel Crosslinked with Sucrose)

  • Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) was identified to possess good mucoadhesive properties ensuring its application to extend the retention times of the formulations at the oral cavity, intended route of administration using the polymer. In the noncross-linked state, PAA will swell and become eroded owing to the presence of salivary flow from the site of application. The formation of cross-links between the polymer chains will allow swelling but prevents the erosion of the dosage form. In the current study, cross-linking was achieved by esterification of the PAA chains with sucrose. The density of crosslinking was modified by changing sucrose concentration and the duration of cure time. The cross-linking density of the polymer hydrogel was assessed by equilibrium swelling studies. The mucoadhesion testing method allowed a comparative study of the hydrogels prepared. An inverse relationship between equilibrium swelling and peak detachment force showed that increased PAA chain density per unit area enhanced the mucoadhesive interaction.

GIS를 이용한 밀양강 유역의 지형학적 특성 분석 (Analysis of hydrologic chracterustucs for Milyang river basin with a GIS)

  • 유역 및 하천의 지형학적 특성은 유역을 모델링하고 관리하는데 매우 중요한 인자로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 GIS 분야에서 구축된 수자원 관련 자료인 수자원 단위지도, 수치지도 등을 이용하여 밀양강 유역의 DEM과 하천망을 생성하고, 누가표고곡선, 하천 지형법칙, 유역특성인자 등을 이용하며 지형학적 특성을 파악하였다. DEM과 하천망은 수치지도의 지형 관련 레이어와 하천 관련 레이어를 추출하여 생성되었으며, 하천망은 위상 구조 뿐 아니라 방향성과 하천차수도 부여 되었다. 밀양강 유역의 지형학적 특성을 파악한 결과, 밀양강은 지질학적으로 장년기에서 노년기로 변화하고 있는 지역이며, 하천 구조는 Horton-Strahler의 하천지형법칙을 따르고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 수자원 관련 자료가 다양하게 구축되고 있는 현 시점에서, 벡터 자료를 이용한 수자원 관련 분석의 가능성을 제시한 것으로 사료된다.

Sectoral Contribution to Economic Development in India: A Time-Series Co-Integration Analysis

  • This research paper examines the causal relationship between India's economic growth and sectoral contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and vice versa, in the short-run and long-run, over a 10 years time period. Johansen's method of cointegration is used to study the cointegration between the sectoral contributions to Indian GDP vis-à-vis India's economic growth. Further, the route of interconnection between economic growth and sectoral contribution is tested by using Vector Auto Regression (VAR) model. Special attention was given for investigating impulse responses of economic growth depending on the innovations in sectoral contribution using time-series data from 1960 to 2015. This paper highlighted a dynamic co-relationship among industrial sector contribution and agricultural sector contribution and economic development. In the long run, one percent change in industrial sector contribution causes an increase of 3.42 percent in the economic growth and an increase of 1.12 percent in the primary sector contribution, while in the short run industrial and service sector contributions showed significant impact on economic development and agriculture sector. The changing composition of sector contribution is going to be an important activity for the policymakers to monitor and control where the technology and integration of sectors play a significant role in economic development.

Sonochemical Synthesis of Amorphous Zinc Phosphate Nanospheres

  • Amorphous zinc phosphate nanospheres were prepared via a sonochemical route. Zinc phosphate nanospheres were uniform in shape with an average diameter of 210 nm. The average diameter of nanospheres could be controlled by changing the pH of a precursor solution. This sonochemical method is simple, facile, economical, and environmentally benign. Non-crystalline characteristics of as-prepared zinc phosphate nanospheres were confirmed by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and FT-IR spectroscopy analyses. We believe this technique will be readily adopted in realizing other forms of zinc phosphate nanostructures.

Preparation and Characterization of Pore-filled Membrane Based on Polypropylene with Poly(vinylbenzyl chloride) by Using in-situ Cross-linking Technique

  • Water softening is a very promising field for membranes and especially ultra low pressure membranes. Nanofiltration membranes based on pore-filling technology was prepared by using a new technique: the in-situ cross-linking. This route involves introducing a pre-formed polymer into the pores of a host membrane and then locking the polymer in the pores by in-situ cross-linking with an appropriate reagent. By this way, it is possible to make robust and competitive, pore-filled, anion-exchange membranes with excellent control over the properties of the incorporated gel without affecting the host membrane. In this paper, the possibilities of tuning such membranes for ultra low pressure water softening was examined by altering pore-filling chemistry (by changing cross-linking and aminating reagents). The results showed that tuning the chemistry of the pore-filling has important effects. In particularly, it had been shown that the correct selection of cross-linking reagent was not only essential to get pore-filled membranes but it could control their properties. Moreover, the aminating reagent could improve membrane performance. It was found that an increase in hydrophobicity could improve the Darcy permeability.

자체 보호 기능을 갖는 안전한 로깅 시스템 (Secure logging system with self-protecting function)

  • 감사 로깅 시스템은 시스템 사용 내역과 통신망을 통한 접근 내역을 기록한다. 이 내역은 불법적인 시스템 자원의 사용이나 통신망을 통한 불법 접근이 발생하였을 때, 그 경로를 추적하는 자료로 사용된다. 따라서, 로깅 시스템은 침입자의 일차적인 공격목표가 될 수 있다. 우리는 UNIX 시스템을 기반으로 로그인 정보와 명령어 수행 정보를 로그파일에 기록하는 로깅 시스템을 개발하였다. 또한, 로깅 시스템에 대한 침입자의 공격을 방어하기 위해서 자체 보호 장치를 두고 있다. 그것은 로깅 프로세스와 로그 파일을 보호하는 것이다. 로깅하는 프로세스를 보호하기 위해서 프로세스 ID를 계속해서 변경함으로써 침입자의 공격을 회피하도록 하였다. 로그 파일을 보호하기 위해서 하드링크와 강제적 파일 잠금을 사용하여 로그 파일에 대한 삭제나 변경을 할 수 없도록 하였다.

  • Studying the long-range ordering of nanopores on the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes under a hard anodization (HA) approach is crucial in producing well-aligned nanopores on the AAO membranes. Electro-polishing in a mixture of ethanol and perchloric acid for 5 min removed marks formed by rolling and produced flat surfaces on aluminum substrates. The AAO was formed by the first HA process, providing seeds for the subsequent production of uniform AAO nanopores. The second HA process carried out on the seeds produced well-aligned, uniform AAO nanopores. The AAO nanopores, varying in size and shape, were observed with voltages applied for HA. This study provides a route for controlling the size and shape of AAO nanopores by changing the applied voltages.

THERA: Two-level Hierarchical Hybrid Road-Aware Routing for Vehicular Networks

  • There are various research challenges in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) that need to be focused until an extensive deployment of it becomes conceivable. Design and development of a scalable routing algorithm for VANETs is one of the critical issue due to frequent path disruptions caused by the vehicle's mobility. This study aims to provide a novel road-aware routing protocol for vehicular networks named as Two-level hierarchical Hybrid Road-Aware (THERA) routing for vehicular ad hoc networks. The proposed protocol is designed explicitly for inter-vehicle communication. In THERA, roads are distributed into non-overlapping road segments to reduce the routing overhead. Unlike other protocols, discovery process does not flood the network with packet broadcasts. Instead, THERA uses the concept of Gateway Vehicles (GV) for the discovery process. In addition, a route between source and destination is flexible to changing topology, as THERA only requires road segment ID and destination ID for the communication. Furthermore, Road-Aware routing reduces the traffic congestion, bypasses the single point of failure, and facilitates the network management. Finally yet importantly, this paper also proposes a probabilistical model to estimate a path duration for each road segment using the highway mobility model. The flexibility of the proposed protocol is evaluated by performing extensive simulations in NS3. We have used SUMO simulator to generate real time vehicular traffic on the roads of Gangnam, South Korea. Comparative analysis of the results confirm that routing overhead for maintaining the network topology is smaller than few previously proposed routing algorithms.

제주남단 항공회랑(AKARA-FUKUE Corridor)의 항공안전 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Aviation Safety in Jeju Southern Air Corridor(AKARA-FUKUE Corridor))

  • ICAO recommended that airspace monitoring and periodic safety assessments in each Contracting State ensure the stability of the airspace, since reducing the aircraft lateral and vertical separation intervals would rather increase the risk of collision. The target level of safety of the AKARA-FUKUE Corridor at the southern end of Jeju was 247×10-9. In simple comparison, this means that the risk of an aircraft collision in this area (international safety standards, 5.0×10-9) is about 50 times higher. The scope of this study is to organize the concept of terms, analyze the air traffic volume, the current status of navigational safety facility usage fees, and investigations of an aircraft collision risk in Jeju southern air corridor. Analyzing government policies and overseas evaluations, revising some of the existing contents, presenting some of the additional contents of new routes, and changing the instrument procedure for Korean-Chinese routes, change of arrive/departure route between Incheon Airport and Shanghai Airport, reduce the risk of aircraft collisions. We hope to restore airspace sovereignty, contribute to policies for the government to take the lead in solving this problem, and expect stability and operational efficiency in air traffic.

복합 통행행태모형을 이용한 동적 기.종점 통행량 추정 (Dynamic OD Estimation with Hybrid Discrete Choice of Traveler Behavior in Transportation Network)

  • 정적 기 종점 통행량을 가정함으로써 갖는 동적 시뮬레이션 모형의 현실 모사 능력의 한계를 극복하기 위하여 동적 기 종점 통행량 추정 모형을 개발하였다 동적 기 종점 통행량 추정은 통행자의 출발시간, 통행수단. 통행경로 선택 행태모형을 결합한 복합통행행태 수요시뮬레이션 모형을 이용하였다 본 연구에서 개발된 수요 시뮬레이션 모형과 기 개발된 공급 시뮬레이션 모형인 LiCROSiM-P를 결합하여 통합 시뮬레이션 모형을 구축하였다. 단속류/연속류가 공존하는 다경로 가로망에서 출발시간/수단선택/통행경로 선택모형은 AGtt(기 종점통행시간의 시뮬레이션 시간과 기대치의 차이 백분율)는 수렴하지 않고, 평균스케줄지체는 안정 상태로 수렴하는 것으로 나타났다. 통합 시뮬레이션 모형은 교통시설공급 변화와 통행자의 속성 변화에 따른 기 종점 통행량 변화 추정과 효과분석이 가능함을 모형의 적용을 통해 제시하였다. 따라서 통합시뮬레이션 모형은 수요관리정책, 교통시설변화, 교통정보제공 등이 가져오는 출발시간, 통행수단, 통행경로변화를 반영한 시스템의 효과분석이 가능하다
