  • In object tracking using the block mating algorithm, it is not proper to use a fixed matching block to track an object of which size may be various and can be changed at any time. This paper defines an adaptive matching block for the dynamic environment and proposes a block matching algorithm for it. The matching block is composed of a main-block of $10{\times}10$ pixels and 8 sub-blocks of $6{\times}6$ pixels in a wide area of $42{\times}42$ pixels, the main-block located its center is used as an object block, and the sub-blocks located its boundary are used as candidates for the object block. The proposed algorithm extracts the object blocks from the sub-blocks by using their motion vectors for 10 previous frames and performs the block matching with the main block and them. The experiments for perform estimation show that the proposed algorithm extracts just valid object blocks from the matching block and keeps an object having free movement in image center area.

  • In this paper, in order to reduce the cogging torque in a permanent motor, a method to optimize the shape of permanent magnet and iron pole is presented. Because the cogging torque comes from the irregular system energy variation according to the rotor position, system energy variation is taken as object function and the object function is minimized to optimize the shape. The positions of permanent magnet surface and iron pole surface are chosen as design parameters and sensitivity of object function with respect to design parameter is calculated. The shape is changed according to sensitivity. Sensitivity can be generated by methods that exploit the FEM formulation. A numerical example shows that about 90% of the original cogging torque is reduced.

  • In this paper some modifications for Lu's inverse method of fairing process are presented. The object function is changed and additional constraints for hull curve foiling is proposed. The newly introduced minimizing object function is the sum of the distances between the two curve's positions at the same parameter values instead of the sum of the distances between two vertices. The new one is better to represent the physical meaning of the object function, the smaller differences between two curves. In ship hull fairing the end tangent of curve has to be fined in some cases, so the additional constraint is considered to preserve the direction of end tangent. The sample results are shown.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a practical image inspection system that could recognize it correctly, endowing flexibility to the productive field, although the same object for work will be changed in the size and rotated. In this experiment, it selected a fighter, rotating the direction from $30^{\circ}$ to $45^{\circ}$ simultaneously while changing the size from 1/4 to 1/16, as an object inspection without using another hardware for exclusive image processing. The invariant moments, Hu has suggested, was used as feature vector moment descriptor. As a result of the experiment, the image inspection system developed from this research was operated in real-time regardless of the chance of size and rotation for the object inspection, and it maintained the correspondent rates steadily above from 94% to 96%. Accordingly, it is considered as the flexibility can be considerably endowed to the factory automation when the image inspection system developed from this research is applied to the productive field.

  • One of the subjects in clouds' structure and development is small scale structure of interstellar cloud. The possibility of AU scale structure (Marscher et al. 1993; Moore & Marscher 1995; Roy et al. 2012) is discussed, and this small scale structure is considered as the result of hydrogen volume density (Moore & Marscher 1995), or small-scale chemical and other inhomogeneities (Liszt & Lucas 2000). In order to study this subject with emission line, extremely high resolution is mandatory by VLBI system. However, the alternative method could be observing the absorption line of interstellar cloud on the continuum object. In this case, the resolution would be restricted to the size of the continuum object, if the size of the object is smaller than the resolution of a used telescope. We observed the previous researchers' three objects (BLLAC, NRAO150, B0528+138), whose spectrums are changed from 1993 to 1998 (Liszt & Lucas 2000), with KVN. Through KVN observation, we found the changes of optical depth spectrum compared with the previous spectrums. We will discuss the optical depth spectrum variation by time variation and the meaning of it.

  • This paper aims for the development of the high power sonar system for measuring the velocity of a moving object. The high power sonar system transmits two gated 190 kHz sinusoidal signals with 1.6 [ms] time interval to the moving object. Then the sonar system detects and calculates the changed time delay of the reflected ultrasonic signals in order to derive the velocity of the moving object. The transmission part uses a high power amplifier so that 250 W gated sinusoidal signals can be transmitted to the transmitter. 1M RAM is utilized for transmitting and storing of the ultrasonic signals. The time delay is calculted by the cross-correlation technique between the transmitted signals and the received signals. The measured value from the high power sonar system is compared with directly measured values by photo diodes. The result confirms the adjacency to 0.3% error.

  • In this paper, we propose a new caching scheme for continuous media data where the buffer allocation unit is divided into two modes : interval and object. All of objects' access patterns are monitored and based on the results of monitoring, a request for an object is decided to cache its data with either interval mode or object mode. The results of our simulation show that our proposed caching scheme is better than the existing caching algorithms such as interval caching where the access patterns of the objects are changed with time.

  • The real time security system using web camera shall correspond in commensurate with it in real time through classifying moving object and analyzing the behavior. But, as to the detection of moving object in real time image through a camera, it is difficult to detect movement correctly according to the change of unnecessary noises, lighting conditions and screened phenomenon. This paper proposes real time security system by dual camera and ultrasonic sensor, a method of advanced detection in order to detect correct movement of specific object. That is, we could improve the tracing characteristics by using ultrasonic sensor as measurement factor of changed position and verify through experiments that the information interchanged between camera upwards and in front of it have effect on tracing a specific object continuously. The results of the experiment show that recognition rate of object was 97.4% and the correct tracing could be done lastingly in a phenomena of screening object.
