  • In rock mass, great many discontinuity exists that is caused to various factors of formation. But these are parted to some groups by specific category, so called these as discontinuity set. This discontinuity set has unique special characteristics in original rock mass, but for the moment, differ the special quality if external force such as digging etc. acts, specially, change of stress condition. Also, geometrical relation change between discontinuity orientation and direction of excavation various characteristic is seen. Therefore, we introduce here the useful chart that can do specification these relation.

  • A walking robot must have the ability to change the body direction in order to avoid the obstacles. In this paper, we develop a gait control algorithm that can maintain the stable movement of the robot for three different modes of changing directions. The algorithm makes it possible for the robot to have the larger gait stability margin than the threshold value by the method of changing the body speed.

  • The sea surface wind speed (SSWS) derived by microwave radiometer can be contaminated by change of microwave brightness temperature owing to the angle between the sensor azimuth and the wind direction (Relative Wind Direction). We attempt to correct the contamination to the SSWS derived by Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR) on Advanced Earth Observing Satellite II (ADEOS-II), by applying the method proposed by Konda and Shibata (2004). The improvement of accuracy of the SSWS estimation amounts to roughly 60% of the error caused by the RWD effect.

  • Heat treatment is an important step for tool manufacture, but unavoidably generates dimensional distortion. This study investigated the continuous dimensional change and the anisotropic behavior of STD11 tool steel during austenitizing and tempering heat treatment especially using quenching dilatometer. Dilatometric results represented that the dimensional change along longitudinal direction was larger than that along transverse direction. Anisotropic phase transformation strain was produced in forged STD11 tool steel during heat treatment. Anisotropic dimensional change increased with increasing austenitizing temperature. After tempering, anisotropic distortion was partially reduced. FactSage thermodynamic equilibrium phase simulation and microstructural observation (FE-SEM, TEM) showed that large ($7{\sim}80{\mu}m$) elongated $M_7C_3$ carbides could be formed along rolling direction. The resolution of elongated carbides during austenitizing was found to be related with the change of martensite transformation temperature after heat treatment. Anisotropic size change of STD11 tool steel was mainly attributed to large elongated carbides produced during rolling process. Using dilatometric and metallographic examination, the possible mechanism of the anisotropic size change was also discussed.

  • This study has an ultimate purpose to find some change direction of education in the Korean language education field, that is, in and out of the Korean language classroom keeping up with social changes. Especially, this study will investigate progressive educational ways in terms of not only developing software, but also grafting hardware relating to mobile technologies. For this, this study will classify the cases of teaching and learning happened in and out of Korean language classrooms and to introduce practical ways of education to apply mobile technologies according to the each case. As a concrete method, this paper proposed a change plan of classroom change that incorporates 'Miracast' and 'smart phone' and a change plan out of the classroom using mesh. This study can be meaningful in that the teaching and learning are linked more organically through the smart phone and the education is called 'IoT world' so that both teachers and learners can easily access education.

  • Change detection is the technique to represent the change of pixel by pixel and band by band between $t_1\;and\;t_2$ times. In this study, authors analize the beach-sand movement using digital image analysis, interpolation and digital terrain model by leveling every years at a coastal area. This paper suggests the useful beach-maintainance plan based on the sand movement and its direction, direction and influence of ocean current, change of oceansand erosion and sedimentation, and area of erosion and sedimentation.

  • The overall purpose of this study was to investigate the dimensional changes of melamine sheet laminated medium density fiberboard(MDF) floorings by sub-heating system(Ondol). This study was also conducted to improve the properties of melamine sheet laminated MDF floorings. The effects of density, resin content, manufacturing speed of MDF and types of melamine sheet on dimensional and weight changes of floorings were investigated. The results were as followings. 1. Dimensional and weight change of melamine sheet laminated MDF flooring by heating decreased with decreasing the density of MDF. 2. Dimensional and weight change of melamine sheet laminated MDF flooring by heating decreased with increasing the resin content of MDF. 3. Dimensional and weight change of melamine sheet laminated MDF flooring by heating decreased with decreasing the manufacturing speed of MDF. 4. Dimensional change of melamine sheet laminated MDF flooring in width direction by heating was doubled than that in machine direction. 5. Dimensional change and curling of high pressure melamine laminate(HPM) laminated MDF flooring by heating was less than those of low pressure melamine laminate(LPL) flooring. 6. Weight loss of melamine sheet laminated MDF flooring by heating has linear relationship with shrinkage.

  • Forged and flat-bar rolled STD11 tool steel shows anisotropic dimensional change during heat treatment. The dimensional change in the rolling direction is larger than that in the transverse direction. The cause of the anisotropic dimensional change is that the steel is anisotropic in composition, microstructure and other properties. The decrease of anisotropic distortion in tool steel is important for making better precision cold working dies. In this study, the effect of ingot weight and hot rolling reduction ratio on the anisotropic dimensional change of STD11 during heat treatment has been studied. Dimensional change was evaluated by simulating a real heat treatment process, including gas quenching and tempering. Experimental results showed that all the rolled flat-bar products had anisotropic distortion to some degree, but the anisotropic distortion was reduced as hot rolling ratio increased. Ingot weight had a little effect on anisotropic distortion. Microstructural observation showed that the anisotropic dimensional change of STD11 tool steel was closely related to the amount, shape and distribution of coarse carbides.

  • In case of Typhoon Dianmu, the temperature, wind speed, wind direction and the rainfall per hour changed dramatically when the center of the typhoon passed through Gimhae. Such a change was commonly found in the regions where the center of the typhoon passed through but almost not in the regions far away from it. For example, in the case of Typhoon Malou where the center of the typhoon was far away from the observation site, such a phenomenon was not observed. The analysis of the vertical observation data showed that there was a little change in the wind speed and wind direction in the vertical direction in the case of Typhoon Dianmu of which center passed through Gimhae. There was a great change in the wind speed according to the height in the lower atmosphere just before the center of the typhoon approached the region. When the center of the typhoon was passing through the region, the vertical wind speed was decreased. However, the wind speed was rapidly increased again after the center of the typhoon had passed through the region. Unlike the Dianmu, the difference in the wind speed and wind direction between the upper layer and lower layer of the atmosphere was relatively great in the case of Malou.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the direction and implications of urban development in relation to climate risk factors and environment for practical implementation of urban development in response to climate change. The research method was carried out through a qualitative data survey and analysis. As a result of the study, the direction of urban development according to the climate risk factors emphasized the importance of preparing conditions for urban development by establishing a damage prevention system for natural disasters and analyzing the risk of natural disasters by conducting analysis of the impact and vulnerability of climate change in urban planning. The direction of urban development on the environmental side suggested the need for the promotion of public transport oriented development (TOD) in the form of urban planning to realize sustainable and practical urban development. Future research directions will need to be supplemented with more quantitative and empirical findings.
