Elastic wave dispersion modelling within rotating functionally graded nanobeams in thermal environment

  • In the present research, wave propagation characteristics of a rotating FG nanobeam undergoing rotation is studied based on nonlocal strain gradient theory. Material properties of nanobeam are assumed to change gradually across the thickness of nanobeam according to Mori-Tanaka distribution model. The governing partial differential equations are derived for the rotating FG nanobeam by applying the Hamilton's principle in the framework of Euler-Bernoulli beam model. An analytical solution is applied to obtain wave frequencies, phase velocities and escape frequencies. It is observed that wave dispersion characteristics of rotating FG nanobeams are extremely influenced by angular velocity, wave number, nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, temperature change and material graduation.

  • WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) 광동신망의 노드에서 신호채널들이 분기 결합될때 잔류채널들의 이득을 일정하게 제어해 주기 위해 고정이득 EDFA를 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 양방향 펌프에 의해 고이득을 가지는 L-band EDFA에서 발진광에 의해 입력변화를 보상해주는 방식으로 고정이득 EDFA를 구현하였다. 여기서 발진방향 및 파장에 따른 잔류채널의 과도 응답 특성에 있어서 단파장 후방발진의 경우가 최적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 상 변화가 없고 압력 변화가 없는 일차원 이상 유동에 있어서 드리프트 플럭스 모델자 2-유체 모델 사이의 상관 관계가 연구되었다. 증기 보존식은 드리프트 플럭스를 통하여 운동량 보존식에 의존한다는 사실에 기초하여 관계가 얻어졌다. 2-유체 모델로부터 출발하여 트리프트 플럭스의 파라미터의 함수로 표현된 계면 마찰식을 얻었다. 또한 기공 전달식을 유도함으로써 드리프트 플럭스는 2-유체 모델의 마찰력과 상호 관계가 있음을 보였다.

  • 순간적인 밸브의 개폐 등에 의해 생성된 압력파가 관의 만곡부를 지날 때 만곡부에 미치는 힘은 변화한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 힘의 변화량을 해석적으로 유도하였다. 본 해석에 의하면 힘의 변화량은 유체의 운동량 변화보다는 주로 정수압에 의해 결정되며, 압력파가 만곡각의 90$^{\circ}$ 이상인 만곡부를 지날 때에는 여기에 미치는 연직성분 힘의 방향이 바뀌는 것으로 나타났다.

신경회로망을 이용한 드릴공정에서의 칩 배출 상태 감시 (Chip Disposal State Monitoring in Drilling Using Neural Network)

  • In this study, a monitoring method to detect chip disposal state in drilling system based on neural network was proposed and its performance was evaluated. If chip flow is bad during drilling, not only the static component but also the fluctuation of dynamic component of drilling. Drilling torque is indirectly measured by sensing spindle motor power through a AC spindle motor drive system. Spindle motor power being measured drilling, four quantities such as variance/mean, mean absolute deviation, gradient, event count were calculated as feature vectors and then presented to the neural network to make a decision on chip disposal state. The selected features are sensitive to the change of chip disposal state but comparatively insensitive to the change of drilling condition. The 3 layerd neural network with error back propagation algorithm has been used. Experimental results show that the proposed monitoring system can successfully recognize the chip disposal state over a wide range of drilling condition even though it is trained under a certain drilling condition.

  • In this paper, an adaptive workflow management system, called K-WFMS, is proposed. The K-WFMS integrates database system and knowledge-based system to automate business processes that are executed with complex and various business rules such as task scheduling, role resolution, and exception handling rules. The K-WFMS is adaptable in the sense that it allows its users to change workflow schema in the course of workflow execution as well as it provides rule-based modeling constructs to handle predictable exceptions during workflow modeling. The overall architecture and implementation of K-WFMS are explained, and the change propagation mechanism to maintain validity of workflow model is suggested.

  • A matter of primary concern about all the design is concentrated on how to create more valuable things to allow people to live an affluent life. However, it is very difficult to achieve the goal because every design work is changed in accordance with given situations. Situations are changeable, so is design. There is no progress without change, but change is not necessarily progress. It is highly desirable that their changes be beneficial to mankind. Our main problem is to be able to discrimination between which should be discarded and that which should be kept, built and improved Viewed at this aspect, it is significant to study the relation between globalism and cultural identity of design, because every design has been constantly influenced by global trends and local characteristics. The paper is composed of four parts Introduction, Characteristic of global design, Cultural identity of design and Conclusion In Introduction, the purpose and background of the study are presented. In Chapter1. social back ground, multi-kinds smallproduction and new problems and searched. In Chapter2, vernacular design, transmission and propagation and tradition and innovation are considered. In Conclusion, some suggestive words on the subject are mentioned.

Femtosecond Micromachining Applications for Optical Devices

  • This paper investigates applications of femtosecond lasers for the micromachining of transparent materials and fabrication of optical devices. We show commercial micromachining examples of transparent materials which have been fabricated for various applications. Near infrared femtosecond laser processing is an attractive method to fabricate three-dimensional optical waveguides into various transparent materials. Focused femtosecond laser pulses induce a permanent refractive-index change only near the focal point. We also demonstrate a Y coupler with the splitting ratio of 1:1 written by femtosecond laser pulses into a fused silica glass. The minimum propagation loss of 0.8 ㏈/㎝ awl the refractive-index change of 0.006-0.01 at the wavelength of 1550 ㎚ were achieved by optimization of the laser fluence.

지하 공동에 대한 탄성파 속도 및 진폭 변화에 관한 연구 (A study of seismic velocity and amplitude variation around underground cavity)

  • This study was designated to clarify the aspect of the wave propagation around the cavity. The change of traveltime and amplitude of the seismic wave was observed according to the various wave velocities of the cavity. The seismic wave detour or penetrate the cavity depending on the seismic velocity of the in-filled material. Generally, seismic wave detours toward high velocity zone around the cavity, and when the velocity of the cavity material reaches to 80 % of the base rock, the wave penetrates the cavity. The traveltime of the detouring seismic wave is not sensitive to the change of the cavity velocity, but as the velocity of the cavity increases, the fall of the amplitude was reduced. The penetrating wave showed the steeply increasing amplitude due to the reiteration of the detouring wave.
