We experienced 3 cases of continuous caudal block. The first case had suffered from severe pain of the external genitalis after urethral injury from a car accident and this was controlled by continuous caudal block. The other 2 cases were a metastaric malignant tumor of the lumbar vertebra from cancer of the cervix and histiocytoma of the breast, and both had suffered from intractable pain of the lower extremity. But lumbar epidural block was impossible because of radiation fibrosis and previous operation scar of the spine. So a continuous caudal block was performed and the pain was controlled effectively. The longest duration was 50 days and there were no problems related catheter indwelling. Pain in the area of the lumbar and sacral nerve distribution can be controlled by continuous caudal block. Here in we reported 3 cases and reviewed the literature.

The cytotoxicity of crude insect drugs was measured using HeLa cells originating from human cervix and uterine cancer. using the dye uptake assay in order to find potential anticancer agents. Three kinds of extracts (buffer, methanol and ethylacetate) were prepared from 26 insects and used as raw materials for the activity assay. Among these, the buffer extracts from Tabanus, Mylabris and Huechys showed a potent anticancer activity, and those from Catharsius, Red ant, Scorpion, Tabanus and Vespae Nidus showed a strong L-amino acid oxidase (AAO) activity as well as cytotoxicity. In contrast, buffer extracts from Gryllotalpa orientalis and Apriona germari larvae showed greater/more rapid Hela cell growth than that of other insects.

Flour genitalis(대하) apply to secretions of vaginal canal exept bleeding. Fluor genitalis is met with everywhere at gynecology disease and is frequently broken out at least one third of women. The greater parts of flour genitalis are not critically ill. The greater parts of flour genitalis are continuous with simple infections of cervix, vagina and uterine tube. Nowadays women increase Bihuh formed flour genitalis(비허형 대하), of which the reasons are stress by vigorous social activity, malnutrition due to harsh diet. so this study has determined that WandaeTang(완대탕) would be effective for recente women flour genitalise which is Bihuh formed flour genitalis.

To establish a protocol of estrus induction and synchronization in European mouflon, we performed artificial insemination using frozen-thawed semen and exogenous hormones. CIDR was inserted into vaginas of four mouflons for 16 days. A day before removal of CIDR, PG 600 was injected intramuscularly. $PGF_2{\alpha}$ was injected when removing CIDR. Artificial insemination was cervically conducted with injecting LHRH 48 hours after CIDR withdrawal. Even though no pregnancy was confirmed, estrous signs were notified like open cervix, congestion of vaginal wall and discharge of cervical mucus. Further research in the wild sheep would be needed for development of artificial breeding methods and advancing sustainability of domestic zoos.

Curschmann's spirals morphologically similar to those seen in sputum were found in cervico-vaginal smears of six patients ranged from 28 to 40 years of age, during 18 months from January. 1985 to June 1986. The prevalence was 1 in 2147 smears in that period. All of them had gynecologic disorders without systemic effect such as chronic cervictis in three, leiomyoma in one, pelvic inflammatory disorder in one, and primary infertility in one. The Curshmann's spirals in the smear showed varying degrees of maturation from wavy incipient ones to highly celled mature ones, admixed with thick mucinous back-ground, suggesting of their production in the uterine cervix itself. Also the recent history of undergone cryocautery, electrocautery or parturition suggest its production in the endocervical gland due to mechanical obstruction and/or change in biochemical composition of mucus.

Four anthocyanins were isolated from the acidic alcoholic extract of Syzygium cumini fruits growing in Egypt: Pelargonidin-3-O-glucoside, pelargonidin-3,5-O-diglucoside, cyanidin-3-O-malonyl glucoside, and delphenidin-3-O-glucoside. They were identified by the chromatographic, TLC and PC, and spectral analyses, UV, $^1$H-NMR and FAB/MS. The fruits were found to contain 0.03 gm % anthocyanins calculated on fresh weight basis calculated by spectrophotometric assay. Cytotoxic activity of total alcoholic extract of the fruits was performed against several types of tumor cell lines using the SRB assay. The tested extract exhibited significant cytotoxic activity for MCF7 (breast carcinoma cell line) (IC$_{50}$= 5.9 ${\mu}$g/mL), while the IC$_{50}$ was > 10 ${\mu}$g/mL for both Hela (Cervix carcinoma cell line), HEPG2 (liver carcinoma cell line), H460 (Lung carcinoma cell line) and U251 (Brain carcinoma cell line).

현미경을 통해 획득한 세포영상이나 조직영상은 질병의 유무나 암의 진행 정도를 파악하여 환자를 치료하기 위한 매우 중요한 요소이다. 하지만 현재 세포나 조직영상에 대한 분석은 광학현미경을 통해 얻어진 2차원 영상분석방법을 주로 이용하고 있으므로 잘린 단면의 각도나 두께에 따라 서로 다른 분석결과를 나타내는 문제점을 가지고 있다 따라서 본 연구에서는 콘포컬 현미경을 사용하여 50nm 두께의 연속적 섹션 영상을 획득한 후, 이를 바탕으로 자궁경부암세포를 3차원으로 재구성 방법을 제안한다. 본 연구의 결과는 2차원 정량분석에 대한 한계를 극복하고 정확한 진단과 예후 추정으로 환자에게 최적의 임상적 치료를 제공할 수 있는 기반을 마련하는데 활용하고자 한다

This study was investigated to observe the cytotoxicity effect of Ligularia fischeri extracts against cancer cell lines including human lung carcinoma(A549), human cervix epitheloid carcinoma(HeLa) and human hepatocellular carcinoma(HepG2) using SRB(sulforhodamine B) method. The ethanol and methanol extracts of 1$\mu\textrm{g}$/${mu}ell$ showed approximately 79.2% and 86.4% cytotoxicity effects on HepG2 cell line and the ethyl acetate fracton fractionated from ethanol extracts showed the strongest cytotoxicity effect with 94% inhibition. The inhibitory effect of ethanol extract on HeLa cell line was somewhat low with 50~56% inhibition, but ethyl acetate fraction showed higher cytotoxicity effect with 91% and 91.9% inhibition on the HeLa and A549 cell line. On the contrary, the ethanol and methanol extracts showed the lower inhibition effects on the normal liver cell, WRL68, compared to human cancer cell lines.

The frequency of a bladder foreign body in the female is lower than in the male, and bladder stones attached to foreign bodies such as non-absorbable suture material are not common. Moreover, vesicovaginal fistulas due to migration or puncture of suture materials into the bladder are rare. In this report, we present a case of bladder stone and vesicovaginal fistula formation in a 29-year-old female patient who had been treated with the McDonald operation for an incompetent internal os of the cervix (IIOC) during pregnancy. The patient was successfully treated by cystoscopic removal of the bladder stone with suture material and conservative treatment for the vesicovaginal fistula.

Gelsolin, a actin binding protein, has been demonstrated to be involved in controlling cell morphology, motility, signaling, and apoptosis. It's expression is frequently downregulated in cervix cancer and several types of different human cancers indicating the role of gesolin in suppression of tumorigenicity. Apicidin, a novel histone deacetylase inhibitor, has been shown to cause growth arrest and morphological change of cancer cells, resulting from the alternation of protein expression, such as p21^${WAF1/Cip1}$ and gelsolin.
