Objectives : This study was peformed to evaluate the effect of Chuna Traction, Correction and conservative treatment. Methods : The patient was diagnosed as cervical bulging disc, protrusion and Uncovertebral joint arthrosis through Cervical spine MRI and treated with conservative treatment(Chuna, Acupunture etc.). We measured Visual Analog Score(VAS) and Range Of Motion(ROM) to evaluate treatment effects. Results and Conclusions : ROM of Cervical spine has improved. VAS score was also decreased.

This case report describes the effectiveness of cervical chuna manipulation in the management of traumatic temporomandibular joint disorder. A 14-year-old male developed trismus after being stuck. He received cervical chuna manipulation and acupuncture. The mouth opening range was assessed to measure disability, and the visual analogue scale to measure discomfort. This was carried out at the beginning, during and at the end of treatment. After treatment, the patient's mouth opening range was improved from 10 mm to 45 mm. Also, the visual analogue scale was decreased. This case study suggests that cervical chuna manipulation can be effective for the management of traumatic temporomandibular joint disorder.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Chuna Treatment and Ouhyul herbal acupuncture on the patients with cervical pain caused by traffic accidents. Methods : This study was carried out on the 60 out-patients with cervical pain caused by whiplash injury. These patients were divided into two groups, group A and group B, of 30 patients each. Group A was treated with acupuncture and Chuna treatment and group B was treated with acupuncture and Ouhyul herbal acupuncture. All the patients from both groups were treated four times, twice a week for two weeks. The results of treatment were evaluated by VAS and NDI score. Results : Statistically, both group A and B demonstrated significant improvement in VAS and NDI. But there were no significant differences in the VAS and NDI between two groups. Conclusion : According to the results of this study, it was suggested that Chuna treatment and Ouhyul herbal acupuncture are effective in reducing cervical pain caused by traffic accidents. However, there were no significant differences in the VAS and NDI between two groups.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine how changes in the cervical spine correlate with body posture changes in the whole body, and to find out the significance of complementary clinical application X-ray and Chuna posture analysis. Methods From January 1, 2019 to October 31, 2019, the results of 27 patients with pain in the vertebral region were analysed in accordance with the results of cervical X-ray and Chuna posture analysis. In order to confirm the significance of Chuna posture analysis results, the survey of 187 Chuna standard curriculum instruction qualification certifiers was conducted and the responses of 47 of them were analyzed. Results The occiput-atlas cline angle increases in both hypolordosis/hyperlordosis groups based on cervical lordosis angle, and increases further than in the hyperlordosis group. There were significant correlations between the changes in the cervical spine and the body posture changes in the whole body. There were no significant differences between cervical X-ray sagittal parameters and the body posture analysis parameters based on the patient's major disease codes. Conclusions As a result of conducting a survey on the clinical importance of the body posture analysis parameters, the importance of cervical parameters was verified. Changes in the cervical spine may not only cause other changes in the cervical region, but also affect the body posture changes in the whole body. The complementary application of X-ray and Chuna posture analysis results is helpful in clinical diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of cervical Chuna treatment for Bell's palsy. Methods : We investigated 30 patients with Bell's palsy who had visited at Department of Acupuncture & Moxibustion, of Korean Medicine Hospital Dong-Eui University from June $1_{st}$, 2013 to April $15_{th}$, 2014. Subjects were randomly divided into two groups. Group A(experimental group) was treated by Korean-Western combination treatment with Cervical Chuna treatment and group B(control group) was treated by Korean-Western combination treatment without it. The cervical Chuna treatment was done twice a week, for a total of 8 times. We evaluated the change of each group by using Yanagihara's unweighed grading system. Results : Yanagihara's score in group A was significantly improved during each period from the first visit to four weeks later. However, Yanagihara's score in group B was significantly improved except during first week. The improvement of Yanagihara's score in group A is higher than group B during every period. And significant differences were shown after two weeks from the first visit between the two groups. Conclusions : These results suggest that cervical Chuna treatment may be effective for Bell's palsy.

Objectives This case study aimed to investigate efficacy of Chuna manual therapy (CMT) on acute neck pain patients with abnormal cervical curvature. Methods CMT was administered to five patients with abnoraml cervical curvature in the Department of Korean Medicine Rehabilitation, College of Korean Medicine, Semyung University Korean Hospital from June 2018 to May 2023. Cervical angle, Jackson's angle, Jochumsen method, Ishihara index and visual analog scale (VAS) scores were evaluated before and after treatment. Results In cases 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, the cervical angle, Jackson's angle, Jochumsen method, Ishihara index all increased, while VAS scores decreased after CMT. Conclusions The observed improvements suggest that CMT is effective in restoring the cervical curvature and alleviating neck pain in patients with acute neck pain.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of chuna for temporomandibular joint(TMJ) in nuchal pain patients with temporomandibular joint disorder(TMD). Methods : Four patients were treated by chuna for TMJ to evaluate the effect of the treatment. The patient's symptoms were assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS), neck disability index(NDI), cervical lordotic curvature. Results : In all case, the pain was reduced according to VAS, NDI. cervical lordotic curvature of three cases were improved. Conclusions : These results suggest that chuna for TMJ might be an effective method to treat nuchal pain with TMD. But, it's necessary to have more observations and experiments.

Objectives This study aimed to report the effects of giant cell tumor treatment to a patient who had cervical and lumbar pain and hypoesthesia of the limbs after total spondylectomy with Korean medicine. Methods A 67-year-old female patient with cervical and lumbar pain and hypoesthesia of the limbs after total spondylectomy was treated with herbal medicine (Cheongpa-jeon, Yukkongbaro-hwa), acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and physical therapy for 36 days. The effects were evaluated using a numerical rating scale (NRS), Neck Disability Index (NDI), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), and EuroQoL-5D (EQ-5D). Results After treatment, changes were observed in the patient's pain and hypoesthesia. NRS, NDI, ODI, and EQ-5D scores decreased. Conclusions This case study suggests that Korean medicine treatment may be effective for symptomatic treatment in patients with giant cell tumor following total spondylectomy.

The Klippel-Feil Syndrome (KFS) is characterized by congenital fusion of two or more vertebrae with hypermobile normal segment. According to this, a patient with KFS can be at risk of severe neurological symptoms after manipulation treatment. We had a KFS patient who suffered from neck pain and limited range of motion at cervical after manipulation treatment. The patient, 49-year-old woman was diagnosed as KFS through Cervical X-ray and MRI. The patient was treated by acupuncture therapy and SCENAR therapy. We measured neck pain by visual analog scale (VAS) and neck disability index (NDI) and checked range of motion at cervical before and after the treatments. After 8 times treatments, the patient's pain decreased and the range of motion increased. From this case, we can recognize the risk of Chuna manipulation treatment for KFS patient. So, we suggest that radiological examination is needed before cervical Chuna manipulation treatment to avoid adverse reactions.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of chuna for thoracic in the patients with nuchal pain. Methods Seven patients were treated by chuna for thoracic to evaluate the effect of the treatment. The patient's symptoms were assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS), neck disability index (NDI) and cervical lordotic curvature. Results In all cases, the pain was reduced according to VAS, NDI. Cervical lordotic curvature of 6 cases were improved in terms of Jackson's angle. 5 cases were improved in terms of Depth of cervical curve and Method of Jochumsen. 4 cases were improved in terms of Angle of cervical curve (C2~C7) and Ishihara index. 3 cases were improved in terms of Angle of cervical curve (C1~C7). Conclusions These results suggest that chuna on thoracic might be an effective method to treat nuchal pain with extension malposition of thoracic. But, it's necessary to have more observations and experiments.
