  • In this paper, we review the domestic reliability standards and its global counterparts IEC/TC 56 international reliability standards. Recently private transfers of reliability certification control tower has established in Korea. Some check points to consider regarding the control tower transfer process to the non-government organization are suggested. Also the IEC/TC 56 and its relevant reliability standards are introduced. Understanding of the IEC/TC56 system will be helpful for the time of non-government organization control tower transfer in the reliability certificate specification

  • New and Renewable Energy Equipment Certification program has been integrated into the KS(Korean Industrial Standards) certification system as of July 29, 2015. This study is to determine whether the KS certification requirement has had a positive effect on corporate performance (e.g. quality improvement, financial result, customer satisfaction) within those that had already acquired the New and Renewable Energy Equipment KS certification. As a result, among the requirements for the KS certification, quality management, product management, and product testing have a positive impact on product quality improvement, and product testing has shown a positive influence on customer satisfaction. Although requisite for the KS certification did not have a significant effect on financial outcome such as increase in revenue, it has shown to have positive consequence to some extent on those firms that newly obtained the certification.

  • An aircraft engine is considered as the most important element among aircraft systems. Thus type certificate is required for an aircraft engine to ensure its safety under appropriate airworthiness standard. U.S. FAR Part 33 or European CS-E is widely adopted as an airworthiness standard for aircraft engines, and other representative countries of the world established own airworthiness standards under their regulations. In this paper, we compared differences of the requirements between FAR Part 33 and CS-E, and proposed the rulemaking items to harmonize Korean Airworthiness Standard for Aircraft Engines with worldwide standards and to contribute to growth of aviation industry.

  • After laws for recycling promotion of construction wastes was established on December, 2003, successive technical and institutional measures related to construction wastes are driven. Typically quality standards for recycled aggregate were enacted and officially announced, and recently the quality assurance system for recycled aggregate is promoted to be established. In relation, this study reviewed major factors affecting certification examination necessary to carry out quality assurance system for recycled aggregate and related standards to guarantee the quality of recycled aggregate. More specifically it is suggested that working place examination related to manufacturing facility and planning, quality control manpower and system, environmental and safety control, etc, and quality inspection with classified by for road construction, for concrete, and for asphalt concrete are used as quality assurance standards.

  • Purpose: The objective of this study is to provide a methodology that can facilitate efficient development of a product portfolio by utilizing Korean Standards(KS) networks. Methods: A case study on a steel manufacturing company is provided. Social network analysis h as been conducted on KS network and KS certification information of the company. Core test standards of a company have been identified. The core standards, then, used to construct a product-standard network of a corresponding industry. Results: As a result of analyzing product-standard networks, a product portfolio of a company has been developed. It has been shown that the candidate product portfolio is a cost-effective alternative in terms of standard maintenance cost. Conclusion: By using social network analysis, standards information can be used to support new product development process.

  • Issuance of certification and licensing for toxicologists authorized by the Japanese Society of Thxicology (JST) became effective on July 24, 1997. The certification system consists of examination, eligibility requirements for the applicants, authorization/license by the board of trustees of JST, and the re-certification of previously authorized qualification. In the last 2-3 years, about 30-40% of candidates for the examination have succeeded. The Committee has estimated that the level of the examination would be sufficient to determine qualified toxicologists. This updated status and a detailed explanation are to be presented at the workshop. In global terms, the JST special committee agrees that "harmonization of certification/registration procedure for qualified toxicologists means to ensure/set the minimum requirement for the global authorization of qualified toxicologists". The following items in global authorization are ad-dressed for further discussion: (1) What's the benefit\ulcorner (2) Toxicological safety assessment standards, and (3) the JST position for authorization.orization.

  • Airworthiness certification is a repeatable process implemented to verify that a specific aircraft can be safely maintained and operated within its approved flight envelope. Airworthiness certification activity for the FA-50 aircraft has been performed according to the Airworthiness Certification Criteria, issued in 2011 by DAPA. It is a right time to study the application of those existing ACC process and tools to the hypothetical modification aircraft. This paper describes airworthiness engineers view of the integrated activities required to substantiate the modified aircraft performance. The compliance methods applicable to the airworthiness certification criteria is also suggested. It will be useful for the establishment of the future Korea modified military aircraft's ACC with the risk assessment and methods of compliances tailored to the legacy aircraft.

  • This paper describes and analyzes the HIRF protection standards of the helicopter category focused on external RF environments. In addition, this paper presents an ideal process of airplane design to accomplish the successful certification. Furthermore, this paper proposes practical recommendations to reduce RF energy on aircraft using specific EMI/EMC techniques such as shielding, grounding and filtering methods. Most of the proposed methods in this paper were key issues during the certification process of KC-100 small airplane which is Korea's first trial aircraft for civil airplane certification.

Developed countries like United States, Japan, Canada and British are to take effect building performance certification criteria what is certification system of environment for promotion in aspects of eco-friendly buildings. Purposes of this study are research in standards and status of certification systems which are LEED in USGBC since 1993 in United States, GBCC of KGBC in state-run organization since 2002 and 'Environmental-friendly Building Guidelines' of Seoul to be recently driven. And then, offer proposals of promotion aims for revitalization in GBCC.
