Solar cells in a PV module are connected in series and parallel to produce a higher voltage and current. The PV module has performance characteristics depending on solar radiation and temperature. In addition, the PV system causes power loss by special situations, including the shadows of the surrounding environment, such as nearby buildings and trees. In other words, an increase in power loss and a decrease in life cycle can occur because of the partial shadow and hot-spot effect. Therefore, this paper proposes the optimal configuration algorithm of a bypass diode to improve the output of a PV module and one of a PV array to minimize the loss of the PV array. In addition, this paper presents a model of a PV module and PV array based on the PSIM S/W. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed optimal configuration algorithms are useful tools for improving the performance of PV system.

There are various method for evaluating the durability life of concrete structures due to salt damage. The best way is to perform a corrosion test for a rebar embedded in concrete specimen was exposure to marine environment. However, this method has the disadvantage that it takes a long period of time. Also, accelerated corrosion test which was complemented complements the time-consuming weakness is limited to apply because it could not reveal a correlation between long-term exposure test. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to derive a correlation coefficient between cycle drying-wetting accelerated corrosion test and long-term exposure test. Corrosion initiation time was measured in four types of concrete samples, i.e., two samples mixed with fly ash(FA) and blast furnace slag(BS), and the other two samples having two water/cement ratio(W/C = 0.6, 0.35) without admixture(OPC 60 and OPC 35). The accelerated corrosion test was carried out by two case, i.e., one is a cyclic drying-wetting method(case 1), and the other is a artificial seawater ponding test method(case 2). Whether corrosion occurs, it was measures using half-cell potential method. The results indicated that case 1 is to accelerated the corrosion of rebar about 24~36% as compared with case 2, then the corrosion of rebar embedded in concrete occurred according to the order of OPC60, FA, BS, OPC35. Correlation coefficient between accelerated corrosion test and long-term exposure test, case 1 is 4.23 to 5.42, and case 2 is 6.54 to 7.82.

This paper proposes a hardware architecture for high performance Deblocking filter(DBF) in High Efficiency Video Coding for UHD(Ultra High Definition) videos. This proposed hardware architecture which has less processing time has a 4-stage pipelined architecture with two filters and parallel boundary strength module. Also, the proposed filter can be used in low-voltage design by using clock gating architecture in 4-stage pipeline. The segmented memory architecture solves the hazard issue that arises when single port SRAM is accessed. The proposed order of filtering shortens the delay time that arises when storing data into the single port SRAM at the pre-processing stage. The DBF hardware proposed in this paper was designed with Verilog HDL, and was implemented with 22k logic gates as a result of synthesis using TSMC 0.18um CMOS standard cell library. Furthermore, the dynamic frequency can process UHD 8k($7680{\times}4320$) samples@60fps using a frequency of 150MHz with an 8K resolution and maximum dynamic frequency is 285MHz. Result from analysis shows that the proposed DBF hardware architecture operation cycle for one process coding unit has improved by 32% over the previous one.

Nardostachys chinensis;Anti-proliferation;Cell cycle arrest;Differentiation;U937 cells; This study was conducted to determine the analgesic effect of Sokyungwhalhyul-tang(SKWHT) using the model of peripheral neuropathic pain model. A model of neuropathic pain was made by ligating left 5th lumbar spinal nerve of rats. After 1 days, the extract of SKWHT was orally administered daily. Rats were divided into four groups; (1) Control group(n=6), (2) Experimental group I(SKWHT-OA1, 100 mg/kg, n=6), (3) Experimental group II(SKWHT-OA2, 300 mg/kg, n=6), (4) Experimental group III(SKWHT-OA3, 500 mg/kg, n=6). After that, we examined the withdrawl response of neuropathic rats legs by von Frey filament and Hot plate at pre, $1^{th}$, $4^{th}$, $7^{th}$, $14^{th}$, $21^{th}$ days after the induction of neuropathic pain. And also we examined c-fos, GOT, GPT and histological study of Liver at 21th days. von Frey filament and Hot plate were increase in experimental group I, II, III than Con. especially group III was most significantly analgesic effect than the other groups at $14^{th}$, $21^{th}$ days. In c-fos protein expression on spinal cord, group III was most significantly reduction immunoreactivity at $21^{th}$ days and in blood serum GOT & GPT levels and histologic finding of Liver in all experimental groups were no significant difference with Con at $21^{th}$ days. According to the above results, SKWHT(500 mg/kg) may have a significant analgesic effect on the neuropathic pain.
The health benefits of garlic (Allium sativum L.) are derived from a wide variety of components and from the different ways it is administered. The known health benefits of garlic include cardiovascular protective effects, stimulation of immune function, reduction of blood glucose level, protection against microbial, viral and fungal infections, as well as anticancer effects. In the present study, it was examined the effects of water extract of A. sativum (WEAS) on the growth of cultured human tumor cells in order to investigate its anti-proliferative mechanism. Treatment of WEAS to tumor cells resulted in the growth inhibition, especially in leukemia cells, which was associated with induction of G2/M arrest of the cell cycle and apoptosis. In order to further explore the critical events leading to apoptosis in WEAS-treated U937 human leukemia cells, the following effects of WEAS on components of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway were examined: generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), alteration of the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), and the expression changes of Bcl-2 and IAP family proteins. The cytotoxic effect of WEAS was mediated by its induction of apoptosis as characterized by the occurrence of DNA ladders, apoptotic bodies and chromosome condensation in U937 cells. The WEAS-induced apoptosis in U937 cells was correlated with the generation of intracellular ROS, collapse of MMP, activation of caspase-3 and down-regulation of anti-apoptotic proteins. The quenching of ROS generation with antioxidant N-acetyl-L-cysteine conferred significant protection against WEAS-elicited ROS generation, caspase-3 activation, G2/M arrest and apoptosis. In conclusion, the present study reveals that the cellular ROS generation plays a pivotal role in the initiation of WEAS-triggered apoptotic death in U937 cells.

Mixotrophic protists play diverse roles in marine food webs as predators and prey. Thus, exploring mixotrophy in phototrophic protists has emerged as a critical step in understanding marine food webs and cycling of materials in marine ecosystem. To investigate the feeding of newly described mixotrophic dinoflagellate Ansanella granifera, we explored the feeding mechanism and the different types of species that A. granifera was able to feed on. In addition, we measured the growth and ingestion rates of A. granifera feeding on the prasinophyte Pyramimonas sp., the only algal prey, as a function of prey concentration. A. granifera was able to feed on heterotrophic bacteria and the cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp. However, among the 12 species of algal prey offered, A. granifera ingested only Pyramimonas sp. A. granifera ingested the algal prey cell by engulfment. With increasing mean prey concentration, the growth rate of A. granifera feeding on Pyramimonas sp. increased rapidly, but became saturated at a concentration of $434ngCmL^{-1}$ (10,845 cells $mL^{-1}$). The maximum specific growth rate (i.e., mixotrophic growth) of A. granifera feeding on Pyramimonas sp. was $1.426d^{-1}$, at $20^{\circ}C$ under a 14 : 10 h light-dark cycle of $20{\mu}Em^{-2}s^{-1}$, while the growth rate (i.e., phototrophic growth) under similar light conditions without added prey was $0.391d^{-1}$. With increasing mean prey concentration, the ingestion rate of A. granifera feeding on Pyramimonas sp. increased rapidly, but slightly at the concentrations ${\geq}306ngCmL^{-1}$ (7,649 cells $mL^{-1}$). The maximum ingestion rate of A. granifera feeding on Pyramimonas sp. was 0.97 ng C $predator^{-1}d^{-1}$ (24.3 cells $grazer^{-1}d^{-1}$). The calculated grazing coefficients for A. granifera feeding on co-occurring Pyramimonas sp. were up to $2.78d^{-1}$. The results of the present study suggest that A. granifera can sometimes have a considerable grazing impact on the population of Pyramimonas spp.
We investigated the compositional changes of glycoconjugates (GCs) and expression of estrogen receptor (ER)-$\alpha$, c-fos and c-jun in the vagina of normal and ovariectomized rats by histochemical and immunohistochemical methods. The mucinous transformation of the superficial layer that occurred from late diestrus to proestrus was accompanied with extensive enrichment of GCs. According to the cyclic changes of the vagina, distinct reactivity patterns such as SBA affinity in the diestrus and Con A affinity in the diestrus and estrus phase was observed. However, weak staining for GCs was detected in the atrophied vaginal epithelium of ovariectomized rats. ER-$\alpha$ immunoreaction was mainly demonstrated in the basal layer of epithelium and estrus cycle-related variation in the number of ER-$\alpha$ immunoreaction were not pronounced. But the stromal cells showing ER-$\alpha$ immunoreaction were abundantly observed from diestrus to estrus phase. The most numerous c-fos immunoreactive cells were observed in the basal and intermediate layer of epithelium and stromal fells from the proestrus to estrus phase and c-jun in the basal layer of epithelium during estrus phase. The c-jun immunoreaction of stromal cells expressed only in the estrus phase. In the ovariectomized rats, a few of ER-$\alpha$, c-fos and c-jun immunoreactive cells were observed in the vaginal epithelium and no immunoreaction were found in the stromal cells. ER-$\alpha$ and c-fos immunoreaction fully expressed in the proestrus coincident with the cell proliferation, mutinous transformation and cornification of vaginal epithelium. These data indicate that vagina epithelium and stromal reals express multiple protein such as ER-$\alpha$, c-fos and c-iun by estrogen that may function in process of cells proliferation and differentiation of vagina epithelium.
Inhibitory action of major food components on antimicrobial active substance (linolenic acid) was tested against Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19111 for 72 hr at $30^{\circ}C$. Linolenic acid (50, 1000 ppm) and n-hexane fraction of Mallotus japonicus Muell (50, 1000 ppm) were added to the broth culture medium containing casein(1%, 3%), soybean oil(1%, 3%) and soluble starch (1%, 3%), respectively. Linolenic acid 1000 ppm and n-hexane fraction 1000 ppm exhibited strongly antimicrobial actions on L. monocytogenes which were not detected viable cell after 24 hr. But casein (3%) and soybean oil (3%) strongly diminished the antimicrobial action of 1000 ppm of n-hexane fraction. Soluble starch (1%, 3%) did not affect the antimicrobial action of 1000 ppm of linolenic acid and n-hexane fraction.

This study examined the improvement of bread quality with Curcula longa and Glycyorrhiza uralensis extract (CGE). When counted, the viable cell number in bread with 5% of CGE dramatically was decreased by about 1 log cycle as compared to that of bread without CGE. With regard to oxidation, the content of malonaldehyde diminished in breads with increasing amounts of CGE. Breads with 1 and 5% of CGE were shown to have the highest antioxidative effect. The moisture contents of bread with CGE and bread without CGE were not much different during the early storage period. After six days of storage, however, the moisture contents of bread without CGE and bread with 0.5% of CGE decreased about 16%. On the other hand, the moisture contents of bread with 1% and 5% of CGE did not change dramatically. Their moisture content was decreased by only 4% during the same storage period. Although color, lightness and redness gradually diminished with increasing amounts of CGE in bread, conversely yellowness increased. In the sensory evaluation, bread with 0.5% and 1% of CGE scored the highest: 3.66 and 3.67 out of 5, respectively. Bread with 5% of CGE scored the lowest of the various bread tested. From these results, the addition of 1% CGE in bread had a good effect on improvement of preservation and development of quality.
Objective: Inbreeding depression of reproduction is a major concern in the conservation of native chicken genetic resources. Here, based on the successful development of strongly inbred (Sinb) and weakly inbred (Winb) Langshan chickens, we aimed to evaluate inbreeding effects on reproductive traits and identify candidate genes involved in inbreeding depression of reproduction in Langshan chickens. Methods: A two-sample t-test was performed to estimate the differences in phenotypic values of reproductive traits between Sinb and Winb chicken groups. Three healthy chickens with reproductive trait values around the group mean values were selected from each of the groups. Differences in ovarian and hypothalamus transcriptomes between the two groups of chickens were analyzed by RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq). Results: The Sinb chicken group showed an obvious inbreeding depression in reproduction, especially for traits of age at the first egg and egg number at 300 days (p<0.01). Furthermore, 68 and 618 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were obtained in the hypothalamus and ovary between the two chicken groups, respectively. In the hypothalamus, DEGs were mainly enriched in the pathways related to vitamin metabolism, signal transduction and development of the reproductive system, such as the riboflavin metabolism, Wnt signaling pathway, extracellular matrix-receptor interaction and focal adhesion pathways, including stimulated by retinoic acid 6, serpin family F member 1, secreted frizzled related protein 2, Wnt family member 6, and frizzled class receptor 4 genes. In the ovary, DEGs were significantly enriched in pathways associated with basic metabolism, including amino acid metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycosaminoglycan degradation. A series of key DEGs involved in folate biosynthesis (gamma-glutamyl hydrolase, guanosine triphosphate cyclohydrolase 1), oocyte meiosis and ovarian function (cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein 1, structural maintenance of chromosomes 1B, and speedy/RINGO cell cycle regulator family member A), spermatogenesis and male fertility (prostaglandin D2 synthase 21 kDa), Mov10 RISC complex RNA helicase like 1, and deuterosome assembly protein 1) were identified, and these may play important roles in inbreeding depression in reproduction. Conclusion: The results improve our understanding of the regulatory mechanisms underlying inbreeding depression in chicken reproduction and provide a theoretical basis for the conservation of species resources.
