This paper focuses on prototype management models of location conflict concerned with crematory facilities in Korea. Using causal loops and stock-flow diagrams, it examines behavioral patterns of key variables, which would contribute to developing objective evaluation criteria. After a series of simulation works, the paper finds that the top priority should be given to how to improve neighboring residents' perception, ahead of specific compensation issues. Otherwise, they are open to vicious cycles or impasse. Juxtaposing individual cases together, Pusan and Cheongju examples which experienced the extreme confrontation in the initial stage could succeed in resolving crematory location conflict, especially between local residents and the public authorities, as the latter has repeatedly guaranteed to the former higher standards of participation. The opposite was almost true for Seoul and Ulsan cases, both of which were drawn into a crematory location whirlpool, incrementally losing resident's participation base. These results imply that the proposed management models would enhance mutual understanding among major stake-holders in relatively a shorter time, not to mention the overall cost.
Purpose - The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of word of mouth on customer perceived value for restaurants in Malaysia. The objectives of this research include determining how word of mouth (WoM) factors - frequency of word of mouth messages, reputation of word of mouth messenger, richness of word of mouth message, dispersion of word of mouth conversations and manner of word of mouth delivery impact customer perceived value in Malaysian restaurant industry. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - The research follows causal / explanatory research method based on quantitative data. A sample of 150 restaurant customers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was selected using convenience sampling technique. Likert scale questionnaire is used to collect data and data is analysed using regression analysis through SPSS 22. Results - The statistical analysis revealed that independent variable 'manner of delivery' significantly and positively impacts customer perceived value for restaurants in Malaysia. Conclusions - To build strong positive customer perception, Malaysian restaurants can enhance word of mouth campaigns' 'manner of delivery' by making them passionate, exciting and with high emotional appeal.
Purpose This study provided empirical support for the model that explain the formation of privacy concerns in the perspective of Information Boundary Theory. This study investigated an integrated model suggesting that privacy concerns are formed by the individual's disposition to value privacy, privacy awareness, awareness of privacy policy, and government legislation. The Information Boundary Theory suggests that the boundaries of information space dependends on the individual's personal characteristics and environmental factors of e-commerce. When receiving a request for personal information from e-commerce websites, an individual assesses the risk depending on the risk-control assessment, the perception of intrusion give rise to privacy concerns. Design/methodology/approach This study empirically tested the hypotheses with the data collected in a survey that included the items measuring the constructs in the model. The survey was aimed at university students. and a causal modeling statistical technique(PLS) is used for data analysis in this research. Findings The results of the survey indicated significant relationships among environmental factors of e-commerce websites, individual's personal privacy characteristics and privacy concerns. Both individual's awareness of institutional privacy assurance on e-commerce and the privacy characteristics affect the risk-control assessment towards information disclosure, which becomes an essential components of privacy concerns.
The purpose of this study is to explore the contents and process of sexual harassment experience in digital games. We interviewed 12 Female gamers and analyzed their experiences through grounded theory. In the paradigm model, the core phenomenon was psychological confusion and influence. Various causal, contextual and interventional conditions have been identified. The strategies were 'direct and passive action', and 'anger expression'. The consequences were 'decreasing the value of game' and 'negative perception of Korean society and men'.
The purpose of this study was to investigate causal relations of resources and demands, family financial management and subjective financial wee-being among urban households by applying a system's approach. The data were collected through the questionnaire whose respondent were 455 housewives in Seoul. The data were analyzed by various statistical methods such as Frequency. Percentile, ANOVA , F-test, T-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis. Path Analysis. The results of this research were as follows. 1) The level of subjective financial wee-being among urban households exceeded the middle level. It had significant differences according to resource variables such as age of housewife. education level of housewife, housewife's occupation, househead's occupation. per capita income, debt/net asset ratio, and according to demand variables such as aspiration, expectancy, perception of financial progress, relative deprivation. 2) The level of subjective financial well-being among urban households according to level of family financial management capability has significant differences. Therefore, the higher family financial management capability, the higher level of subjective financial well-being. 3) Among all variables affecting the subjective financial well-being among urban households. aspiration had the highest relative influence on the subjective financial well-being and per capita income, occupation of househead and family financial management variables were in this order. 4) Among all variables affecting the subjective financial well-being among urban households aspiration, occupation of househead, per capita income and finacial management variables had direct effect on subjective financial well-being . Besides housewife's education level, aspiration and per capita income had indirect effect on it through family financial management.
The purpose of this study is to understand the interrelationships among hotel employees' perception of job stress, burnout and counterproductive work behavior in a deluxe hotel. A total of 362 employees working for deluxe hotels in Korea participated. The results showed a positive relationship between employees' perceptions of job stress and burnout. Participants who reported a high level of burnout were more likely to manifest counterproductive work behavior. In addition, employees' prevention focus showed that moderating effects in the causal relationships between employees' burnout and counterproductive work behavior. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
Purpose: This study investigated elderly women's health care at doctorless farm villages based on information-about the perception and management of their health. Method: Grounded theory method as mapped out by Strauss and Corbin-was used to record and transcribe open-ended interviews. The data from these interviews were analyzed. Result: We found 18 categories and 28 sub-categories. In data analysis, the core phenomenon was named "movement in pain". Causal condition as essential prerequisites were aging symptoms, bad state of health, comfortable life to live alone, longevity, deficiency of health care resources, and sub-categories of the phenomena revealed acceptance of discomfort, enduring pain, continuity of movability. Elderly women's health-related activities included enduring as it is, movement consciously, applying resources, difficult in using health medical institutions. Family support, economic level, disease condition, support system of community were influenced to their health-related activities. Consequently, the results indicated that they wanted to accept given life, expected easy death. held out remaining life. Conclusion: This study revealed that the most important factor of elderly women's health care was "movement in pain". On the basis of this study, we needed to develop diverse nursing implementation plans for maintaining and improving' movability without pain'.
This study was purported to examine the definition of tone deafness, various factors for the cause based on literature review of research findings, and to examine therapeutic application of music for treatment of tone deafness. With research, it was found that there can be three different kinds of tone deafness; amusia, agnosia, and asonia. Literature review showed that tone deafness has been frequently dealt in many research in order to verify the causal factors, such as gender, age, and environments. With time, the research trend on tone deafness has shifted towards neurological approach closely examining brain activity, presenting the statement that the brain's capacity to perceive modest pitch changes may be congenitally impaired. Also physiological factors contribute to tone deafness called diplacusis, which is a phenomenon wherein a given tone is heard as different pitches by the two ears, resulting in conflicting bilateral perception of pitch. Music can be used for treatment of various factors causing tone deafness. The most efficient intervention was singing program. Pitch-matching training can be effective training using operant conditioning procedure. Successive approximation or reinforcement of correct response alone was more efficient procedure in helping uncertain singers to sing on pitch. Also progressive breathing exercises helped the training the pitch-matching where one had to coordinate hearing and voice.

This paper is concerned with identifying the determinants of committing digital piracy in university settings. Using a theoretical model based on Theory of Reasoned Action, the causal relationship among the research variables, including intention to commit digital piracy, attitude, subjective norm and fear of legal consequences, is developed. Results from 295 survey responses indicate that fear of legal consequences affect the subjective norm and the attitude, which in turn influence the intention to commit digital piracy. In addition, relativism based on EPQ(Ethics Perception Questionnaire) is introduced as a moderating variable. The relative influences of path coefficients are investigated and implications from findings are also discussed.
Prevalent usage of mobile devices among consumers has been well recognized and this is especially imperative among young adult consumers. The mobile phone became the gateway of their communication, media consumption, retail transaction, education, and (virtual) social life. However, there is little empirical research explaining the dynamics behind the psychological underpinning of young adult consumers, specifically Generation Y, to understand their usages and dependency on mobile phones. This study, therefore, aims to unveil antecedents and consequences of Gen Y consumers' mobile phone dependency from a media psychological perspective. We developed a conceptual model based on theory of self-monitoring (Snyder 1974, 1987), extended self-concept (Belk, 1988), and media dependency theory (Ball-Rokeach & Defluer, 1976). Four hundred ninety-eight students in the U.S. provided usable responses to our pencil-and-paper survey. Causal modeling analysis results demonstrated that both ability to modify one's behavior and sensitivity to cues for social appropriate behavior dimensions of the self-monitoring tendency positively predicted one's level of fashion involvement, which in turn positively predicted his/her mobile phone dependency. Individual's mobile phone dependency, fashion involvement and self-monitoring's ability dimension exhibited positive and direct impact on one's perception of the salience of mobile phone case product attributes. Based on the findings, we provided pragmatic and theoretical implications for the industry and academia.
