주부의 취업여부에 따른 가계재정상태에 대한 기대감 (The Expectation of Future Financial Situation of Employed and Unemployed Wives in Household)

  • The purpose of this study was to test a causal model of employed and unemployed wives on the basis of the family resource management system theory. The data of this study were obtained from 244 wives who lived in Seoul and were financial mangers. Major findings of this study were as follows: 1. Both employed and unemployed wives, knowledge of financial management was significantly predictor of financial planning. That is, household financial mangers with more financial knowlege used more effective planning behaviors than did those financial managers with less financial konwlege. This results emphasize the significance of enhancing the financial konwledge in the household financial management. 2. For unemployed wives, expectation of household’s future financial condition was influenced by age, household income, locus of control over their financial situation, and perception of financial management’s effectiveness. The strongest predictor of expectation of the household’s future financial situation was age. Younger managers were more optimistic about the future. 3. The findings of this study support theoretical framework on the basis of the family resource management system theory, both for employed and unemployed wives.

Overcoming the Hurdles of Transition: Middle School Students' Engagement in Distance Instruction During the COVID-19 Pandemic in South Korea

  • The study aimed to qualitatively examine middle school students' engagement in distance instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants comprised 119 students from a girls' middle school in Seoul, South Korea. To gain an in-depth understanding of the students' experiences, we collected their reflective journals, which included structured items about their learning engagement at three timepoints in 2020: April, July, and December. The following are the results: 10 themes and 18 concepts were derived, and they were integrated into causal conditions (sudden transition due to COVID-19), contextual condition (technology readiness, school education context), central phenomena (high level of behavioral engagement, low emotional engagement), interventional conditions (recognizing the potential of online learning, situational awareness about COVID-19 and online learning), action/interaction phenomena (development and use of self-regulated learning strategies), and consequences (changes in practices and perception towards online learning). Based on the findings, engagement patterns of the participants were classified into five types: proactive, conservative, receptive, reactive, passive learners. The present study demonstrated important findings that are essential for the improvement and development of engaging online learning strategies in the future.

Hong Kong Chinese Women's Lay Beliefs about Cervical Cancer Causation and Prevention

  • Background: This study aimed to seek insights into Chinese women's lay beliefs about cervical cancer causal attributions and prevention. Materials and Methods: Twenty-three new immigrant adult women from Mainland China and thirty-five Hong Kong adult women underwent semi-structured in-depth interviews. Interviews were audio taped, transcribed and analyzed using a Grounded Theory approach. Results: This study generated three foci: causal beliefs about cervical cancer, perceived risk of cervical cancer, and beliefs about cervical cancer prevention. Personal risky practices, contaminated food and environment pollution were perceived as the primary causes of cervical cancer. New immigrant women more likely attributed cervical cancer to external factors. Most participants perceived cervical cancer as an important common fatal female cancer with increased risk/prevalence. Many participants, particularly new immigrant women participants, expressed helplessness about cervical cancer prevention due to lack of knowledge of prevention, it being perceived as beyond individual control. Many new immigrant participants had never undergone regular cervical screening while almost all Hong Kong participants had done so. Conclusions: Some Chinese women hold pessimistic beliefs about cervical cancer prevention with inadequate knowledge about risk factors. Future cervical cancer prevention programs should provide more information and include capacity building to increase Chinese women's knowledge and self-efficacy towards cervical cancer prevention.

캐즘이론과 정보기술수용모형을 적용한 디지털 교과서 수용 연구 (A study on the digital textbook acceptance by application of Chasm Theory and Technology Acceptance Model)

  • 본 연구는 디지털 교과서를 수용하는데 영향을 미치는 변인들과 그 구조를 규명하고자 수행되었다. 교사들의 혁신성에 근거하여 디지털 교과서의 수용 전략을 수립하기위해서 캐즘 이론을 검토하고, 디지털 교과서 등 교수매체 수용의 의사결정을 설명하는 정보기술수용모형을 본 연구에 적용하였다. 캐즘이론과 정보기술수용 모형을 토대로 조사도구를 제작하였으며, 신뢰도 및 타당도 검증을 거쳐 혁신성, 지각된 유용성, 지각된 사용용이성, 사용의도 간의 인과적 관계 검증을 수행하였다. 구조방정식(SEM)을 사용하여 본 연구의 구조모형을 검증한 결과 지각된 사용용이성은 지각된 유용성에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤고, 사용의도에는 간접적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 지각된 유용성은 사용의도에 직접적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 디지털 교과서 수용을 위한 전략 수립에 구체적인 시사점을 준다. 즉, 디지털 교과서의 일반학교 도입은 보다 신중하게 검토되어야 하며, 인터페이스의 개선과 같은 사용 용이성보다는 디지털교과서의 유용성에 초점을 맞추는 정책적 노력이 필요하다는 것이다.

M&A 과정에서 직급별로 인지하는 조직정치와 이직 의도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Organizational Politics and Turnover Intention by Position in the Mergers and Acquisitions)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the organizational politics, resistance change, turnover intention, and organizational commitment of organizational members during mergers and acquisitions. Recently, many companies are interested in mergers and acquisitions for business diversification and market extension. A merger is a legal consolidation of two entities into one, whereas an acquisition occurs when one entity takes ownership of another entity's stock, equity interests, or assets. This research model establishes a structural equation model. This model is set in a causal relationship between manager's organizational politics, peer organizational politics, and change resistance and the change resistance has a causal relationship of turnover and tissue immersion. In particular, this study will test different of organizational politics by position. Research results, the organizational politics of managers and colleagues have shown increasing change resistance. The change resistance has resulted in a reduction of organizational commitment and an increase of turnover intention. Next, the position analysis showed that top management level, middle management level, and working-level officials showed different organizational politics. The working-level officials are influenced by their manager politics and are influenced in organizational commitment and turnover intention by change resistance. The middle manager level is influenced by the organizational politics of bosses and colleagues, and organizational commitment is weakened by change resistance. The CEO level is not affected by organizational politics in the company, but the turnover intention is strengthened and the organizational commitment is weakened by the change resistance. This study has contributed to further updating the theory of organizational politics based on mergers and acquisitions. As a practical implication, we suggest an organizational integration strategy for a new organization.

Regulatory Sentiment and Economic Performance

  • Regulatory sentiment refers to the market's subjective evaluation of regulatory reform and is one of the most widely adopted indicators to those charged with implementing and diagnosing regulatory policies. The use of regulatory sentiment in advanced analysis has become universal, albeit it is often limited due to difficulties in articulating consistent and objective quantitative indicators that can meticulously reflect market sentiment overall. Thus, despite ample effort by scholars to read the economic impact of regulatory sentiment in the real economy, causal links are difficult to spot. To fill this gap in the literature, this study analyzes a regulatory sentiment index and economic performance indicators through a text analysis approach and by inspecting diverse tones in media articles. Using different stages of tests, the paper identifies a causal relationship between regulatory sentiment and actual economic activities as measured by private consumption, facility investment, construction investment, gross domestic investment, and employment. Additionally, as a result of analyzing one-unit impulse of regulatory perception, the initial impact on economic growth and private investment was found to be negligible; this was followed by a positive (+) response, after which it converged to zero. Construction investment showed a positive (+) response initially, which then rapidly changed to a negative (-) response and then converged to zero. Gross domestic investment as the initial effect was negligible after showing a positive (+) reaction. Unfortunately, the facility investment outcome was found to be insignificant in the impulse response test. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that it is necessary and important to increase the sensitivity to regulations to promote the economic effectiveness of regulatory reforms. Thus, instead of dealing with policies with the vague goal of merely improving regulatory sentiment, using regulatory sentiment as an indicator of major policies could be an effective approach.

스마트폰 이용동기가 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도와 광고회피에 미치는 영향: 광고침입성의 매개효과 (The effect of smartphone usage motivation on application display advertising attitude and avoidance: Mediating effect of ad intrusion)

  • 본 연구에서는 스마트폰 이용동기가 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도와 광고회피에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 또한, 광고침입성의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구참여자는 309명이며 설문조사방법을 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 공변량구조분석을 이용하여 스마트폰 이용동기와 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도간의 인과관계를 분석하였으며, 광고침입성의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 첫째 스마트폰 이용동기는 스마트폰 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 스마트폰 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도가 광고회피행동에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 스마트폰 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도는 지각된 광고침입성에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 스마트폰 에플리케이션 디스플레이 광고의 침입성 지각은 광고회피행동에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로, 스마트폰 어플리케이션 디스플레이 광고태도와 광고회피 행동간에 인과관계에서 광고침입성 지각은 매개효과를 미쳤다. 본 연구결과는 광고회피 행동을 감소시키는 전략을 제안하는데 기여할 것이다.

What makes Consumers to Prolong their Consumption on Perishable Food beyond Its Expiration Date?

  • Consumers empty perfectly safe to intake perishable foods everyday if they are older than what prints on expiration date. The variation in expiration dating is freshness labeling represented in various terms such as sell by, package, best before, and so on. Regardless of the terms used and meanings are attached, consumers tend to conceive of freshness labeling on food as end of its shelf-life. Consequently, the food waste becomes a big issue for businesses in food sector. In an effort to demonstrate flexibility on this, KFDA(Korea Food & Drug Administration) introduced "best before" date in domestic market place to reduce food waste, based on the food safety test conducted by KCA(Korea Consumer Agency 2009). The results indicated freshness labeling on food should not be considered as the end of its life. Current study examined the underlying mechanisms(i.e. risk perception, self-construals, and indecisiveness) that influence consumers' intention on prolonged consumption of food beyond its stamped date when the KCA test results are shown to them. In addition, the moderating effect of regulatory focus is tested in the causal relationships between underlying mechanisms and different groups of prolonged consumption intention. Study participants are divided into three groups of prolonged consumption intention: no-change, moderate-change, and wide-change. The group with moderate-change in intention being as our point of reference, logistic regression analyses are conducted on 276 sample population. The results indicated that consumers with high source credibility risk are likely to show wide-change in intention on prolonged consumption while physical risk did not show significance. The consumers with independent self-construal are likely to show no-change in intention on prolonged consumption while interdependent self-construal did not show significance. Indecisiveness showed association a group with wide-change in intention on prolonged consumption. The moderating effect of regulatory focus showed valid results in most situations; the promotion-focused consumers showed wide-change in intention, while prevention-focused consumers showed no-change in intention. Furthermore, the moderating effect of promotion-focus showed a dominant position over the causal effect of indecisiveness in which decisive consumers(i.e. no-change in intention); if they are promotion-focused they tend show for the wide-change in intention instead. It is important to note that for those promotion-focused consumers(or situations), promotion-related arguments are more effective, while for those prevention-focused consumers(or situations) prevention- related arguments are more effective means of persuasion.

  • 2008년 세계 금융위기 이후 경기침체에 따른 은행의 저금리로 인해 금융상품의 대체재로 상가 오피스텔과 같은 임대수익형 투자 상품에 대한 관심과 투자수요가 증가했다. 이는 오피스텔 개발의 양적인 팽창에는 많은 기여를 해왔지만 과잉공급, 임대 수익률 감소, 그에 따른 개발사업의 부정적인 인식 확산 등 문제점을 야기했다. 문제점의 원인은 하나의 대표 값으로 제시하는 기존의 잘못된 사업타당성 분석에서 찾을 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 시스템다이내믹스를 활용한 오피스텔 사업타당성 분석 모델 개발을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 사업타당성 연구현황을 파악하고 시스템다이내믹스에 대한 문헌고찰을 수행한다. 둘째, 타당성분석에 있어 고려해야 하는 변수들을 선정하고, 인과지도를 작성한다. 셋째, 인과지도를 토대로 모델 구축을 수행한다. 넷째, 오피스텔 사례와 비교하여 적합성과 유효성을 검증하고 타당성을 비교한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 모델은 오피스텔개발사업의 실행여부를 결정하는 의사결정권자 및 이해관계자에게 의사결정 도구로써 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

시스템 다이내믹스를 이용한 건설 작업자의 불안전한 행동의 인지 과정 모델링 (A System Dynamics Approach for Modeling Cognitive Process of Construction Workers'Unsafe Behaviors)

  • 건설재해의 직접적인 원인은 작업자의 불안전한 행동과 작업장의 불안전한 상태로 분류할 수 있다. 그러나 작업자의 불안전한 행동의 원인은 불안전한 상태에 비해 상대적으로 발견이 어렵다. 왜냐하면 불안전한 행동은 개인의 인지과정을 거쳐 순식간에 발생하기 때문이다. 따라서 작업자 인지과정모델을 통해 불안전한 행동의 원인을 밝히고 그 관리방안을 밝히는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 작업자의 인지과정모델을 개발하기 위해 피드백 관계를 규명하기에 알맞은 시스템 다이내믹스 방법론을 사용하였다. 개발된 인지과정모델은 작업자가 위험을 인식하지 못하는 그 상황 자체의 위험성에 대하여 강조하였으며 작업자가 위험을 인식 하였더라도 불안전한 행동을 할 수 있음을 나타냈다. 또한 불안전한 행동이 바로 사고로 이어지지 않는다는 습관은 작업자의 안전에 대한 부정적 태도인 태도로 이어진다는 점에 대해서도 규명하였다. 이러한 분석은 건설현장의 안전관리자가 작업자의 인지상태를 관리하는데 도움이 될 것이다.
