  • Although features, core element of marine GIS in many application, are same things users have difficulty in using them on account of varying according to method of classification. Accordingly feature cataloguing in accordance with the standard is the trend of the modem world. In this article we have became familiar with ISO 19110 - Methodology for Feature Cataloguing, we was able to discuss element and definition of features for the purpose of Marine GIS's activation. Through the result of study, we presented the methodology of Marine GIS feature cataloguing.

  • The factors which can help the library users trace the specific subject that she or he needs are most important, when they are not sure of what they need exactly in front of a classified catalogue. This study is about what the factors are and how the factors affect the inference of users' reasoning structure. Since the classified catalogues are reflected by the classification structure, naturally the logic in the classification system becomes the focus of the study. This study concludes the classification system which enables the library users to use their reasoning capabilities, viz. the classification system which can help the users trace the specific subject even as they are not sure of the exact subject they need has following factors in the system. 1. It should have the validity based on the facts in the components of the classification system. 2. It should be logically arranged when the components of the classification system are placed in due sequence. 3. The notation of the system should be based on mnemonics. The reason is that the indispensable factors in the formation of inference of human reasoning structure are: 1. the premises which are based on the facts and 2. the logical relationship between the premises and conclusions which are induced from the premises.

  • This catalogue is the result of a four-year survey of the mollusks of Jeju Island, the southernmost island in the Republic of Korea. Forty-eight survey stations were visited, with a total of 82 specific localities being sampled. Literature records were also obtained. Local and world distribution of each species is included. This survey reports a total of 1,072 mollusk species and subspecies; 1,015 marine and 57 land and freshwater. There are 812 gastropods, of which 755 are either entirely marine or have marine affinities. The best represented of the marine families are the Pyramidellidae, Trochidae, and Ovulidae. There are 225 bivalves, none being freshwater species, with the Veneridae, Mytilidae, and Arcidae having the largest number of species. Among the smaller classes there are sixteen Cephalopoda, eleven Polyplacophora, and eight Scaphopoda. Compared to mainland Korea, Jeju Island has a rather small terrestrial mollusk fauna and a depauperate freshwater one, with mainly Palearctic connections. The Helixarionidae and Bradybaenidae are the largest terrestrial families. The marine faunal affinities with the neighboring Japonic and Indo-West Pacific provinces are also discussed, revealing that this island's mollusk fauna is a blend of warm-temperate and subtropical-tropical species.

  • In this paper, we present a catalogue of the spectra of bright stars observed during the sky survey using the Far-Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (FIMS), which was designed primarily to observe diffuse emissions. By carefully eliminating the contamination from the diffuse background, we obtain the spectra of 70 bright stars observed for the first time with a spectral resolution of $2-3{\AA}$ over the wavelength of $1370-1710{\AA}$. The far-ultraviolet spectra of an additional 139 stars are also extracted with a better spectral resolution and/or higher reliability than those of the previous observations. The stellar spectral type of the stars presented in the catalogue spans from O9 to A3. The method of spectral extraction of the bright stars is validated by comparing the spectra of 323 stars with those of the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) observations.

  • Disk stellar luminosity function has been derived with stars in the Lowell Proper Motion Survey which contains about 9000 stars with ${\mu}\;{\geq}\;0".27$ of arc/yr, $8\;<\;m_{pg}\;<\;17$ and with bright stars in the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) Star Catalogue, Luminosity function has been obtained with stars within 20 pc by Luyten's mean absolute magnitudes method using Reduced Proper Motion Diagram to select disk stars. Magnitudes and colors, in the SAO Star Catalogue as well as in the Lowell Proper Motion Survey have been transformed to the UBV system from the published UBV data. It has been found that stars which have higher proper motion than the original limit of the proper motion survey are missed, when the relation between the absolute magnitude and reduced proper motion is applied to sample stars without considering the dispersion in magnitude. Correction factors for missing stars have been estimated according to their limits of proper motion which are dependent on the absolute magnitude. Resulting luminosity function shows Wielen's dip at $M_B{\sim}10$, and systematic enhancement of stars on the average of about ${\Delta}\log\;{\Phi}\;(M_B){\sim}0.2$ compared with Luyten's luminosity function.

  • We have employed SNANA supernova analysis package to make YONSEI Supernova Catalogue 1, which contains distance modulus, light-curve shape parameters, and color or extinction values of each supernova. This database is used to study the dependence of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) luminosities on the host-galaxy morphologies. The redshift range of this catalogue is 0.010 < z < 1.555, and we use three light-curve fitters: SALT2, MLCS2k2 (Rv = 3.1), and MLCS2k2 (Rv = 1.7). We find a systematic difference in the Hubble residual (HR) of $0.1{\pm}0.031$ mag between E-S0 and Scd/Sd/Irr host-galaxies, and of $0.16{\pm}0.044$ mag between passive and star-burst host-galaxies. This difference is significant over the $3{\sigma}$ level. Considering the significant difference in the mean age of stellar population between these morphological types, the difference in the HR reported here suggests that the evolution effect of SNe Ia luminosity should be considered in the cosmological application of SNe Ia data.

  • Infra-Red Dark Clouds (IRDCs) seen silhouette against the bright Galactic background in mid-IR are a class of interstellar clouds that are dense and cold with very high column densities. While IRDCs are believed to be the precursors to massive stars and star clusters, individual IRDCs show diverse star forming activities within them. We report a remarkable example of such cloud, the IRDC at ${\Gamma}53.2^{\circ}$, and star formation activity in this cloud. The IRDC was previously identified in part as three separate, arcmin-size clouds in the catalogue of MSX IRDC candidates, but we found that the IRDC is associated with a long, filamentary CO cloud at 2 kpc from the Galactic Ring Survey data of $^{13}CO$ J = 1-0 emission, and that its total extent reaches ~ 30pc. The Spitzer MIPSGAL 24mm data show a number of reddened mid-IR sources distributed along the IRDC which are probably young stellar objects (YSOs), and the UWISH2 $H_2$ data (2.122mm) reveal ubiquitous out flows around them. These observations indicate that the IRDC is a site of active star formation with YSOs in various evolutionary stages. In order to investigate the nature of mid-IR sources, we have performed photometry of MIPSGAL data, and we present a catalogue of YSOs combining other available point source catalogues from optical to IR. We discuss the evolutionary stages and characteristics of YSOs from their IR colors and spectral energy distributions.

  • In Myanmar studies, despite research on the categorization of ethnic nationalities are fairly much, research on the categorization of Myanmar people (ethnic Myanmar) is rarely exposed. People settled down in Central Myanmar had been categorized by regionalism into two groups as Anyatha (Upper Lander) and Auktha (Lower lander). It can be determined that the regionalism of Myanmar people existed and still exists. Previous scholarship in the colonial history of Myanmar has primarily referred to the documents recorded by the colonial officers and historical texts composed by the British authorities and scholars. The Catalogue of the Hluttaw Records is one of the rarest documents recorded in the Myanmar language on the affairs in the borderline drawn by the British after the Second Anglo-Myanmar War (1852-1853). Scrutinizing the Catalogue of the Hluttaw Records, it has been found that the text sheds light on the division of Central Myanmar into two regions in colonial Burma, later known as Lower Myanmar and Myanmar kingdom. These areas were known as Upper Myanmar between 1853 and 1885, and the categorization of the Myanmar king's subject, known as Anyatha (Upper Lander) and British colony citizen later known as Auktha (Lower Lander). This article traces back the relation of introducing the colonial boundary system and the division of Central Myanmar into two regions that allowed the emergence of regionalism among Myanmar people.

  • The historical development of books examination with utilizing science become inevitable to the machanization of library catalogues. With the advance of times, like this, a new- development of $Indention('||'&'||'$ : Kisun) must be sought for which is a kind of descriptive catalogues being used now. This paper is scheduled to grasp problems in the course of using and logical grounds of Indention which hal-e been used disordering. It must be considered that four kinds of Icdention settlement is suitable to the features of Korean letters. 1) TI-e must consider the features of Korean Language and Oriental Language writing(Japan, China). There must be a establishment of floating $Indention('||'&'||'E$ : Kisun), which are suitable for the writting style or hand writting man on the point of most of Koreans are depend upon hand witting, then books catalogues like western language, not left edge of the cards of the $Indention(B$ : Kisun) establishing, from edge to Call Number, from the last of the Call Number to First Indention(%-Bl63). First Indention(%-%%) to a space of Second $indention($\ulcorner^%)$ must be established and then, every catalogue and Indentions are distinguished surely. 2) \Then we consider the developing catalogue making in the future. It is important to establish a fixed $Indention('||'&'||'$ : Kisun) for machinization of typewriter(Korean, Mimeographing) and computer, etc ... not "Cm" unit but "Space" unit, and consider oriental letter, ne make more surplus space as a Indention, we can give anadaptablity of using machines. 3) Considering typography printing and type-setting printing by printing type, we must fit the $Indention(\ulcorner'||'&'||'$ : Kisun) as a "Cm" unit, and there must be a re-adjustment of $Indention(g$$ : Kisun) which considered the complexity of Call Number by a mass of collecting books like this, the establishment of Indention(E'||'&'||'j!: Kisun). We must not use a uilified one as a concrete conception by "Space" or "Cm" unit which has been used now but re-adjusted adaptably which can be fited as a method of making of catalogues. 4) The name of $Indcntion(J, S$ : Kisun) has becll called 7;arious methods until now, but English Indention which has been used without any concrete mexirig must be used as a ours fitable as a our mind. The above mentioned is presented as a Indention and examinational l~letilods by myself style, I wants these r i l l be helpful to the future developments of the machanization of Indention $(sf:$ Ki sun). Concrete studies must be continued in the future for development of $Indention(zj:$ : Kisun). : Kisun).
