  • This study attempted to evaluate the effectiveness of the Supportive Project for the Priority Region of Educational Welfare Investment(SPPREWI) which has been put into action in Korea as a part of national policies for poor school children. In so doing this study aimed to test SPPREWI's legitimacy as well as whether we have to continue this program or not. In order to fulfill this research purpose researchers identified several outcome indicators of SPPREWI, which represent psychosocial and cognitive adjustment. The variables pertaining to psychosocial adjustment domain are: self-concept; depression, anxiety, and suicidal impulse; inclination of assault and indignation; delinquency; school life adjustment; and change in social relations. The variables of cognitive adjustment include recognition of self-control in learning; control strategy of learning behavior; and preparedness for job hunting. In this study the quasi-experimental group contained students from schools which are under the SPPREWI. The control group was composed of students from schools which were free from SPPREWI but under the influence of deteriorating school environment. The quasi-experimental group and the control group were compared in terms of outcome indicators presented earlier. Within the quasi-experimental group both the students below poverty-line and the students above poverty-line were divided into two groups each by the level of service use, and were compared in terms of the outcome variables presented earlier. Study results supported the argument that SPPREWI was effective generally in improving students' school adjustment. Study results also showed that the variable of 'school nurturance' played a significant role in moderating the effect of SPPREWI on a couple of outcome variables specially when schools' overall educational environment was in poor condition. Implication as well as suggestion were presented on the basis of study findings.

For the last 20 years and longer, KIM has been building up his career energetically as he never lets himself obsessed with any particular boundaries or areas but work on everything from paper advertisements to art galleries, advertising photographs and pure photographs. The Photolanguage personally mentioned by Yong-ho KIM himself is to visualize this imaginary story in a form of photograph, which one would come up with before shooting. When it comes to the advertising photographs, since they are used basically to sell products, they are considered rather temporary, and in addition, they photograph the products mostly under these bright lights with colorful backgrounds behind. However, Yong-ho KIM was recognized for presenting very much different work as he went even beyond these old stereotypes of the advertising photographs. The advertising photographs processed by KIM do more than merely introducing details or functions of some products, but they deliver these values and cultures that consumers can enjoy and gain through these original stories about the products. Of several pieces of KIM's work, this advertisement on Hyundai Card named was invited to an exhibition by a private gallery after the work was exposed through various media. The work was even purchased, and that was something that had not happened before in the history of the relevant field. When a photograph is purchased, it makes the photograph recognized for its value to be possessed, and when a photograph is displayed, it, again, makes the photograph win recognition as an art work. This thesis discusses the Photolanguage found in the works of Yong-ho KIM, one of the most well-known advertising photographers in South Korea. The research inquiries that have been analyzed in the body of the thesis, therefore, are the photographs and language in the digital era, the story-telling advertisements and these works by Yong-ho KIM.

  • This study examines the subjective perception of software developers on happiness at work through the Q-sort methodology. Analysis of 63 respondents revealed four types happiness at work with highly differentiated characteristics: 'stability of work oriented', 'defiant self-driven, technology-oriented', 'realistic professionalism oriented', and 'genuinely technology and task-immersion oriented'. The 'defiant self-driven, technology-oriented' and 'genuinely technology and task-immersion oriented' types are interested in latest ICT and consider recognition of one's professionalism as well as self-realization result in happiness at work. On the other hand, the 'stability of work oriented' and 'realistic professionalism oriented' types did not pay much attention to one's growth of technical career but emphasized salary, welfare benefits and job promotion as the most important factors in happiness at work. Today, extraordinary SW developers are a key factor to acquire industrial competitiveness. Nations and corporations should prepare realistic ways to promote overall happiness at work by accurately understanding the varying characteristics and predisposition of domestic ICT personnel. In Korea, it is found that there is a shortage of 'genuinely technology and task-immersion oriented' SW developers. In order to secure national and industrial competitiveness in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, creation of work ecosystem to promote high levels of happiness at work is required to secure quality software production and pride as an ICT professional.

Therefore, we tried to determine a way to improve job satisfaction through emotional leadership, which is one of the skills that dental hygienists should have. The study subjects were 237 dental hygienists working in dental clinics in Jeollabuk-do from April 16, 2018 to April 28, 2018. The data was analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program. The following results were obtained. The emotional leadership of the subjects was lowest for leadership ability (3.15), and the average job satisfaction was 3.43. Salary levels were low, ranging from 2.49 to 2.98. The final academic achievement and dental career had significant influences on emotional leadership (p<0.05). Marital status, self-cognition ability, self-management ability, and relationship management ability influenced the subjects' job satisfaction. The explanatory power of the multiple regression model was 26.5% and the validity of the model was statistically significant (p<0.05). Based on the above results, it was determined that self-recognition ability, self-management ability and relationship management ability of emotional leadership are all highly related to the job satisfaction of dental hygienists. • The purpose of this study is to analyze changes of competency observed in teaching of pre-service science teachers through the teaching evaluation and reflective journal writings on science class during the period of student-teaching at high school. To do this, we videotaped all the science classes of six pre-service teachers participating in this study, evaluated their class teachings, and collected moving video clips recorded in their classes, reflective journals, interviews, instructional materials, and teaching evaluation they have provided. From the "Standards for teaching evaluation of science instruction" developed by Korea Education Curriculum and Assessment, sixteen evaluation elements were selected and used for the analysis. According to our results, all preservice teachers show improvement of teaching performance in most of the class evaluation elements as the number of science classes increases. They presented the lowest improvement in the 'to design meaningful learning program,' which was one of the sixteen elements. However, there are substantial individual differences in the pre-service teachers' teaching competence on each evaluation element. Although they thought that 'understanding of scientific concepts' is the most important part of a science class in the beginning of student-teaching training, they showed changes in recognition that 'interaction and respect' and 'managing student behaviors' are also important in the end. They have recognized that writing a reflective journal, based on the video clips recorded in class and teaching evaluation, helps improve their teaching competency. In addition, improvement in teaching competency has influence upon career-orientation towards the school teacher in the future.
