The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of career development competency recognized by the specialists who major in food service currently. To achieve the purpose of this study, the five two-year-courses technical colleges in Kyeonggi-do, Daejeon, Daegu Metropolitan City which include food service department were selected. And total 280 samples of enrolled students were extracted and the 256 students were treated statistically besides the 24 students who responded dishonestly. The analysis results are as follows. First, the male students showed partially higher career development competencies than female students. Second, the second grade students showed partially higher career development competency than the first grade students. Third, the specialists whose family income is over 5 million won showed the highest career development competency, and the students in 3-5 million won and less than 3 million won followed them in order. Fourth, there were differences in competencies of lifelong learning, networking, collecting and utilizing the job information, and self-understanding, and career transition, and the specialists with more qualifications showed higher competency than those who with less qualifications. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a various career education program to enhance career development competencies of food service specialist by individual characteristic.
The purposes of this study were 1) to explore the differences in career competency and career preparation behavior in accordance with high school students' work experience types and 2) to examine the interaction effects between work experience type and sex or work experience type and grades. Three work experience types were classified as no work experience, positive work experience, and negative work experience. The study used the data from "2009 Youth Career? Occupation Survey" conducted in the National Youth Policy Institute. For the statistical analysis, two-way MANOVA was employed. The results indicated that female students had higher levels of career competency and career preparation than male students. Also, female students showed higher negative effects of negative work experience compared to male students. The analysis confirmed the interaction effects between work experience types and sex. Female students showed the higher negative effects of negative work experience than no work experience, whereas work experience, whether or not it is negative, was helpful for male students in career competency and career preparation behavior.

The purpose of this study is to design and develop competency based career development system for mid size IT company employees to support HRD(Human Resource Development) & HRM (Human Resource Menagement). Although many researches have been done in terms of employees career and competency development in corporate environment, there are not many cases to analyze mid size companies because small companies have limited number of employees and budget to develop career development system. This study analyzed 55 subjects to analyze their current competency level and job description in two mid size IT companies to design and develop competency based career development system. Three career paths such as R&D, management, and marketing, were common in IT companies and each suitable career development plan was recommended. The results of this study are able to provide self diagnostic competency based career development system for mid size company employees to improve their job performance and administration efficiency as a consequence.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is analyzing how much students of dental technology possess core competencies and cognition between dental technicians and students. Methods: The subjects of this study were dental technicians, dental technology students and a self-administered structured questionnaire survey wax conducted for 428 selected people. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 20.0 statistics program and analysis techniques include the frequency, t-test, One-way ANOVA. Results: The results of the survey are as follows. The cognition of key competency according to the gender in the students showed differences in interpersonal ability, information ability and the requirement of key competency according to the gender in the students showed differences in speaking ability, listening ability, problem solving ability. The cognition of key competency according to the grade in the students showed difference in speaking ability, listening ability and the requirement of key competency according to the grade in the students showed difference in comprehension of organization ability. The speaking ability is the lowest in the cognition of key competency according to the gender, grade, experience of clinical training in the students and the skill ability is the highest in the requirement of key competency according to the gender, experience of clinical training in the students. The cognition of key competency according to the career in the dental technicians showed difference in problem solving ability, self-regulation and self-development ability, skill ability and the requirement of key competency according to the career in the dental technicians showed difference in writing ability. The cognition of key competency according to the educational background in the dental technicians showed difference in comprehension of organization ability. The foreign language ability is the lowest in the cognition of key competency according to the career, job in the dental technicians and the skill ability is the highest and the math ability is th lowest in the requirement of key competency according to the career, place of employment in the dental technician. Conclusion: This study can be used as basic data for dental technology that are available not only to field-oriented disciplines but also to overall higher education fields which aim to strengthen key competency.

The specialty of Construction Manager's work is largely depends on the project progress stage and the type of management work. However, at present, career management system manages only the type and duration of the construction project, disregarding specialty and competence. However, in order to select a right construction manager for the client's needs or project characteristics, career management should be subdivided and managed according to the project progress stages or the types of management. In addition, this career management plan is essential for construction managers to receive appropriate wages for their careers and competences. Therefore, this study proposes a classification system for the integration of career, work, and competency to promote effective career management.

The study aims to define the career competency of HRD practitioners based on an intelligent career framework. This intelligent career framework has been described as having been achieved by the accumulation of career capital through the three ways of knowing, including knowing why, knowing how, and knowing with whom. The data were collected from the interviews with 15 HRD practitioners. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from the HRD practitioners. For the orientation about the interview, the researcher explained the importance of gathering data about the personal experiences of the respondents on their work and career. After that explanation, the researcher asked several questions based on the pre-structured interview guide. The data collected were qualitatively analyzed on the basis of the intelligent career framework. Based on the analysis of the interviews, the subcategories of each way of knowing competency were identified. For the knowing why, identity, credibility, and career clarity were identified. The subcategories of knowing how are remaining updates, hard skills, and soft skills, while the subcategories of knowing with whom are personal networking and professional networking. The interdependency among the three career competencies was found. The findings provide theoretical implications of applying an intelligent career framework.

Purpose: This study was done to provide basic data for developing an in-service education program to improve nurses' quality. First, frequency of nursing activities and competency levels of emergency nurses according to their career ladders were compared through job analysis and then practical education programs were presented on based of the results. Method: Data were collected from 335 nurses working in emergency rooms in 31 tertiary hospitals. Data collection was done from September to November 2005 using the job analysis questionnaire. Results: There were 41 nursing activities that showed differences in frequency and 78 activities that showed differences in perceived competency level. Irrespective of emergency nurses' careers, activities that show high frequency but low competency were sputum liquefying therapy, assessment of cranial nerve function, identification of diagnostic radiology, and communication with various departments. In-service education content according to nurse's career ladders was presented by adding high frequency nursing activities and activities with low competency level even though having high frequency. Conclusion: There is a need to develop and provide in-service education programs, which consider nurses' difference in frequency and competency level for their career ladders.
The purpose of this study is to find out what the constituents of career development competency are for the students who are majoring in engineering. In this study, the career development competency means that the students in an engineering college should initiatively choose, prepare and adapt themselves for their future career in their lifetime. This study examined all the career-related references that are determined to be linked with the competencies of career development. Also, other references inside and outside of the country that are related to the career key competencies and engineering basic competencies were investigated in this study. Especially, the career development competency in this study was approached with two points of views; the process of career development for students and the ability to maintain and develop the future career in an engineering field. Ultimately, this study derived the conclusion that there are 8 categories and 42 subordinate constituents in the career development competency for the students in an engineering college.
Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the relationships of the types of nurse staffing, the competency of nursing performance and job satisfaction by analyzing the types of nurse staffing in operating room. Method: The subjects were 472 nurses who work in operating room. The instruments used in this study were three tools: competency of nursing performance, job satisfaction and type of nurse staffing. Result: Type 4 was most in the type of nurse staffing of the subjects. According to the type of nurse staffing, the competency of nursing performance was significantly different. There was significant difference in the competency of nursing performance according to age, marital status, bachelor, employ, position, and career, and job satisfaction according to age, position, and career. In opinion about the ideal type of nurse staffing, type 2 was most regardless of career. Conclusion: Type 4 which has lower competency of nursing performance was adopted in many hospitals now but, type 2 which has highest competency of nursing performance was selected by many nurses as the best one. So, it should be considered the type of nurse staffing of in operating room and change it.
The purpose of this study was to analyze career cognition, key competency, vocational values of university students and junior college students. The study was carried out through questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 368 completed questionnaires from sample of 373 freshmen-women of university and students. A survey questionnaire consisted of career cognition items, key competency scale, vocational values scale, and personal characteristics items. The construct validity of key competency scale and vocational values scale were confirmed by factor analysis with varimax rotation. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. Major findings of this study were as follows: First, university students and junior college students most wanted to get a job after graduate. Many students decided their career at high school days. Many students were not prepared for their career after graduate. They recognized that major curriculum of university and junior college was very helpful to prepare their career. And many students discussed with their parents about their career. Second, key competency of them was moderately high. In the items of key competencies, 'communication and following' was the highest. And key competency of university students was better than that of junior college students. Key competency of male students was better than that of female students. Third, vocational values of them were high. In the items of vocational values, 'occupational stability' was the highest, and 'work in freedom and challenge' was the lowest. 'Occupational stability' and 'work in freedom and challenge' of junior college students was higher than that of university students. And 'occupational stability' of female students was higher than that of male students.
