Nevertheless, there was a lack of concern and research on elderly abuse and how to affect the life of the elderly in long-term care facilities. The study analyzed the data collected from 278 senior citizens of 44 long-term care facilities in two regions. The analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship among elderly abuse, service quality, service satisfaction and life satisfaction. An analysis showed that some of the elderly experienced elderly abuse, especially sexual abuse. The experience of abuse affect the perception of the service quality, service satisfaction and life satisfaction of the elderly. The elderly experienced abuse was undervalued in service quality, service satisfaction and life satisfaction. • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of skin care salons' decision factors on customer satisfaction and revisit intention during the COVID-19 pandemic. The subjects of this study were 220 women in their 20s to 50s who reside in Seoul and the Gyeonggi-do area and are users of skin care salons. The data was statistically analyzed using SPSS V.25.0 and detailed research results are as follows. For the analysis of this study, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability verification, independent sample T-Test, one-way analysis of variance, post hoc test, Duncan test, and regression analysis were conducted. First, as a result of examining whether skin care salon decision factors during the pandemic have a positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction, hygienic environment satisfaction and service environment satisfaction, which are sub-factors of customer satisfaction, had a significant effect on professionalism, kind service, and distance, which are sub-factors of decision factors, and are independent variables. Second, as a result of examining whether skin care salon decision factors during the pandemic have a positive (+) effect on revisit intention, decision factors, which are independent variables, including professionalism, kind service, price, and distance showed significant effects on human revisit intention, As for physical revisiting intention, only kind service, distance, and professionalism showed significant effects, while price did not have a significant effect. Third, as a result of examining whether customer satisfaction during the pandemic has a positive (+) effect on revisiting intention, the service environment satisfaction and hygienic environment satisfaction, which were sub-factors of independent variables, showed significant results for human and physical revisit intentions. In this study, service environment and hygienic environment satisfaction were important variables for skin care salon decision factors. Professionalism and kind service were important for human revisit intention. Therefore, overall service environment, hygiene, and safety should be prioritized to increase revisit intention and efforts must be made to retain and improve customer satisfaction

  • This paper presents a novel method to design and implement mobile u-health system by defining the essential elements of mobile healthcare services. We choose common service elements for the proposed u-healthcare scheme and design the service platform. Especially we focus on automatic feces or urine sensing u-care scheme to prove the effectiveness of our platform. We construct the system with sensing part with a manikin and a diaper wireless communication part with feces or urine sensing data, and coordinator system based on the u-health platform defined in this paper. Experimental results show that our scheme is useful in the area of u-care service for the handicapped, the elderly, and patients who can hardly move by themselves. In addition the designed scheme offers a realized u-care scheme with the purpose of advanced developing tools for application or service developers.

  • Objectives : This study aims to : (i) characterize and differentiate between two different periods of baby boomers, (ii) study the utilization of their health care services, and (iii) establish effective ways of providing better health service utilization and preventive policy strategies for upcoming and older generations. Methods : A multiple regression analysis using descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, and dummy variables was utilized to access the presence of correlations between socio-demographic factors and health care service utilization. Results : Medical insurance type, marital status, and chronic disease were factors that influenced health care service utilization. Furthermore, the factors that influenced individual medical expenses were cohabitation, inpatient days, and chronic disease. Conclusions : Primary findings and exploratory statistics revealed that there were strong correlations and interaction among some of the predictor variables. Because of the chronologically limited nature of the sample data set gathered in 2012, it would be helpful to continue to develop or research related constructs that may capture relationships more effectively among extended populations.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine whether the level of classification for long-term care service under longterm care insurance reflects resource utilization level for residents in nursing homes. Methods: From 2 long-term care facilities, the researchers selected 95 participants and identified description and time of care services provided by nurses, certified caregivers, physical therapists and social workers during a 24-hr-period. Results: Resource utilization level was: 281.04 for level 1, 301.05 for level 2 and 270.87 for level 3. Resource utilization was not correlated with level. Differences in resource utilization within the same level were similar with the coefficient of variance, 22.7-27.1%. Physical function was the most influential factor on long-term care scores (r=.88, p<.001). The level for long-term care service did not reflect differences in resource utilization level of residents on long-term care insurance. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that present grading for long-term care service needs to be reconsidered. Further study is needed to adjust the long-term care classification system to reflect the level of resource utilization for care recipients on the long-term care insurance.

  • Recognizing the lack of empirical study that evaluates the influence of social care services on care sufficiency of individuals with disability, we have focused our study on the following research questions: What is the level of care sufficiency for individuals with disability?, What is the profile of care for individuals with disability from both formal and informal providers?, What are the service use conditions and determinants of social care service use?. This study analyzed data of 1204 individuals with disability who needed daily assistance from 5th wave of Korea Welfare Panel Study. Results showed that 50% of the respondents experienced care deficit. 77% of the respondents received no care from informal care providers and 90% from formal care providers. Despite social care services brought by the expansion of socialization of care, the average number of social service use on care was less than 1, which suggests that socialization of care did not significantly contribute to care sufficiency. In addition, for people who are 64 or younger, social care services was substituted by care from informal care providers and for those who are 65 or older, social care services supplemented care from informal care providers.
