  • Carbon fiber-reinforced silicon carbide (Cf-SiC) and SiC / SiC composites have high thermal conductivity, and excellent corrosion and wear resistance, a low coefficient for thermal expansion and are lightweight. This is why they are commonly used in parts of the aerospace industry to develop an aircraft thrust deflector, jet vane, combustion chamber, elevens, body flap, and a shingle. So, understanding how this state-of-the-art Cf-SiC affects both internal and external crack detection and determining issues during the manufacturing process of composite materials, should be evaluated according to valuation techniques in the external environment. In this paper, we apply a non-contact air ultrasonic technique of non-destructive testing techniques to perform a study on internal defect detection identification and assessment of carbon-fiber reinforced silicon carbide composites to perform basic research and applied research.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 탄소섬유쉬트(CFS)로 보강된 RC보의 보강시 상재하중의 유무에 따른 보강효과와 휨거동을 실험적으로 고찰하는 것이다. 실험변수는 인장철근비(0.85, 1.32, 1.91%)와 상재하중(무보강보의 항복내력의 80%)으로 한다. 보강보의 구조적 거동을 항복하중과 극한하중, 하중-중앙부 처짐 관계, 연성, 보강 효과의 항으로 비교하였다. 실험결과로부터, CFS로 보강된 RC보의 극한 내력과 휨파괴거동이 원부재와 부착된 CFS 간의 초기응력에 의해 변화하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the fatigue behavior of the reinforced concrete beams strengthened with steel plate and CFS(csrbon fiber sheet). In this study, fatigue loads of 60 to 80 percent of the ultimate strength are applied to the specimens. From the results of test the beams strengthened with steel plate show the flexural failure mode, while the specimens strengthened with CFS fail by separation between CFS and concrete surface. In case of the stress level of 70%, strength degradations of the beams with steel plate and CFS in normalized flexural rigidity at 5,000 cycles is 24 and is 24 and 28 percent respectively.

충격하중을 받은 CFRP 적층판의 손상거동과 잔류굽힘피로강도 (Damage Behavior and Residual Bending Fatigue Strength of CFRP Composite Laminates Subjected to Impact Loading)

  • In this paper, static and fatigue bending strengths of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminates having impact damage(FOD) are evaluated. Composite laminates used for this experiment are CF/EPOXY and CF/PEEK orthotropy laminated plates, which have two-interfaces[${0^0}_4{90^0}_4}$]$_sym$. A steel ball launched by the air gun colides against CFRP laminates to generate impact damages. The damage growth during bending fatigue test is observed by the scanning acoustic microscope(SAM). When the impacted side is compressed, the residual fatigue bending strength of CF/PEEK specimen P is greater that that of CF/EPOXY SPECIMEN B. On the other hand, when the impacted side is in tension, the residual fatigue bending strength of CF/PEEK speicemen P is smaller than that of CF/EPOXY specimen B. In the case of impacted-side compression, fracture is proposed from the transverse crack generated near impact point. On the other hand, fracture is developed toward the impact point from the edge of interface-b delamination in the case of impacted-side tension.

  • Mechanical and thermal analysis properties of carbon fiber/epoxy composite for train carbody were evaluated by varying with environmental factors such as ultraviolet, temperature, and moisture. Accelerated environmental aging tester was utilized for this study. Testing temperature was set to $80^{\circ}C$ and ultraviolet was obtained through xenon-arc lamp. To consider moisture, water sprayed on specimen for 18 minutes every 2 hour. All the specimens were made of CF1263/Epoxy composite. Mechanical properties such as tensile, bending, and shear properties were evaluated through a material testing system. Also, thermal analysis properties such as storage shear modulus, loss shear modulus, and tan ${\delta}$ were measured through dynamic mechanical analyzer. Finally surfaces of the composite exposed to environmental factors were examined using a scanning electron microscope. From experimental results, those properties of CF1263/Epoxy composite were shown to be slightly decreased due to environmental factors.

  • 본 연구에서는 탄소 나노복합재료 수지의 분산도를 평가하기 위해 전기저항 측정방법을 활용한 평가 예측 연구를 시도하였다. 탄소 나노복합재료 수지을 탄소섬유 토우에 떨어뜨려 탄소섬유의 배열 변화에 따른 전기저항 변화도를 이용하여 분산도를 평가하였다. 분산도가 균일한 탄소 나노복합재료 수지의 상태는 섬유 토우의 배열을 변화시키더라도, 섬유들 사이에 CNT의 영향으로 전기적 접촉면을 생성시켜 비교적 낮은 전기저항 변화도를 나타낸다. 그러나 불균일한 나노입자 분산상태의 수지는 탄소섬유 토우의 필터링 현상에 나노입자와 에폭시가 분리되었다. 탄소섬유의 전기저항 변화도는 크게 변화되며, 이러한 전기저항 변화도의 크기차이를 이용하여 분산도를 분석할 수 있었다. 나노복합재료 수지 적용 섬유강화 복합재료의 ILSS 측정 결과와 전기저항 측정법을 이용한 분산도 평가 결과간의 상관관계를 비교하였다. 균일한 분산도 상태의 나노복합수지를 이용한 경우가 섬유강화 복합재료화 하였을 경우 우수한 계면 특성을 확인하였다.

실리카흄 및 플라이애쉬.시멘트 복합체의 역학적 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Silica Fume and Fly Ash.Cement Composites)

  • 본 연구는 산업부산물의 플라이애쉬 및 실리카흄을 이용한 고성능$\cdot$고품질의 건재의 제조 및 응용을 위하여 보강재로서 PAN계 및 Pitch계 탄소섬유를 사용하여 건재용 탄소섬유보강 실리카흄$\cdot$시멘트 복합체 및 플라이애쉬$\cdot$시멘트 복합체를 제조하여 배합조건별 동복합체의 물리적 역학적 특성에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 시험결과, 탄소섬유보강 실리카흄$\cdot$시멘트 복합체의 휨강도, 휨인성 및 휨변형 특성은 탄소섬유 혼입율증대에 수반하여 현저히 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, 또 이들 값은 PAN계 CF를 사용한 경유가 Pitch계 CH를 사용한 경우에 비하여 높게 나타났다. 한편, 플라이애쉬$\cdot$시멘트 복합체는 플라이애쉬 대체율의 증가에 따라 물(플라이애쉬+시멘트)비는 증가하였으나, 압축$\cdot$휨강도 및 겉보기 비중은 저하하였으며 촉진양생은 경우가 습윤양생한 경우에 비하여 우수한 압축강도 및 휨강도를 나타내었다. 또한, 기존ALC의 대체를 위한 경량 플라이애쉬\ulcorner시멘트 복합체를 개발하였고, 그 최적배합조건을 제시하였다.

대전 방지용 웨이퍼 캐리어의 전기적 특성 (The Electrical Characteristics of the Antistatic Wafer Carrier)

  • The wafer carrier is made of PP, PC, PE resin which have excellent heat and chemical resistance and electrical properties. However, particle generation has become a problem due to static electricity generated in the carrier. Some conductive material such as carbon black (CB) and carbon fiber (CF) are added for the purpose of anti-static, however, additional for motility and particle contamination problems due to high carbon content occurs. In this paper, the electrical characteristics and workability are observed and compared by adding low Carbon Nono Tube(CNT) to each PP, PC and PE resin to solve the problem.

  • An electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMAT) can usually generate or detect an ultrasonic wave into specimens across a small gap. Especially stiffness of composites depends on layup sequence of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastics) laminates because the layup of composite laminates influences there properties. It is very important to evaluate the layup errors in prepreg laminates. A nondestructive technique can therefore serve as a useful measurement for detecting layup errors. It was shown experimentally that this shear waves for detecting the presence of the errors is very sensitive. It is found that high probability shows between tests and the model developed in characterizing cured layups of the laminates. Also a C-scan method was used for detecting layup of the laminates because of extracting fiber orientation information from the ultrasonic reflection caused by structural imperfections in the laminates. Therefore, it was found that interface C-scan images show the fiber orientation information by using two-dimensional fast Fourier transform(2-D FFT).

  • The design methodologies for carbon fiber sheet(CFS) strengthening of RC structures are not well established yet because the structural behavior of strengthened RC structures is more complex than that of unstrengthened ones. Even though the research for the methods using CFS has beed studied, the strengthening effects and structural behaviors of strengthened structures are not systematized yet. The purpose of this study is to carry out the experimental studies on three kinds of half scale RC slab bridges and to investigate the behavior of RC slab bridges from the experimental results. Typical flexural failure occurs in the non-strengthening slab like general RC slab bridges, and also the flexural failure occurs in the all area strengthened slab with sudden rip-off failure of strengthening material by punching shear. For the case of strip type strengthened slab, flexural failure occurs, with rip-off of second strip at the base of loading point. Strengthening effect on the slab using CFS is that the strength is increased upto 7~15 percent and the crack pattern is changed.
