저층(Sediment)에서 분리된 미생물에 의한 Carbaryl (1-naphthyl-N-methylcarbamate)의 혐기적 분해에 관한 연구 (A Study on Anaerobic Degradation of Carbarvl (1-naphthyl-N-rnethylcarbamate) by Microorganism)

  • Carbaryl was degradaded to monomethylamine(MA) by bacterium. which isolated from lake sediment. Its carbaryl degradation was maximized when grown on mineral salt medium conditioning 20 $\mu$M of carbaryl as a sole carbon source at 26${\circ}$C and initial pH 7.0-9.0 Its degradation ability was minimized at initial pH 3.0 and 5.0 The percent conversions { (moles of MA in excess of control / mole of carbaryl added) $\times$ 100} for 10. 20. 40 and 80 $\mu$M of carbaryl were 18.6. 16.1. 18.1 and 11.6 respectively. It suggests that increasing amount of carbaryl added above 80 $\mu$M. the percent conversion should be decreased. The MA production by the bacterium was lineary related to the cultural time. After 7days culture. its percent conversion was 46.2. and this result suggests that a half amount of carbaryl would be hydrolyzed to MA by the bacterium within 8 days.

폐 AC용액으로부터 제조된 AUC분말의 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on characteristics of AUC Powder Prepared with the Waste AC Solution)

  • This study was investigated on the recycle feasibility of the waste AC(Ammonium Carbonate) solution produ-ced in a commercial AUC(Ammonium Uranyl Carbonate) conversion plant. AUC particles were produced with the AC solution which was prepared with AC solid-agent instead of ammonia and carbon-dioxide gases. As the results particles of monoclinic shapes has been obtained regardless of the pH change if the carbonate concentration is sufficient in the mother liquore. Also a lot of twinned or aggregated particles were formed in case of the increase of pH in the reaction system but not affected in the change of temperature. Consequen-tly the characteristics of the particles which converted for AUC were produced withAC solution to UO2, particles specific surface area shape sintered density and others were similar to that of the particles which were produced with gases only when the pellets are fabricated in the nuclear fuel manufacturing process So the waste AC solution which is produced in the commercial AUC conversion plant is possible to recycle.

Characterization of Enhanced CO Oxidation Activity by Alumina Supported Platinum Catalyst

  • A novel pretreatment technique was applied to the conventional Pt/alumina catalyst to prepare for the highly efficient catalyst for the preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide in hydrogen-rich condition. Their performance was investigated by selective CO oxidation reaction. CO conversion with the oxygen-treated Pt/Alumina catalyst increased remarkably especially at the low temperature below $100^{\circ}C$. This result is promising for the normal operation of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) without CO poisoning of the anode catalyst. XRD analysis results showed that metallic Pt peaks were not observed for the oxygen-treated catalyst. This implies that well dispersed small Pt particles exist on the catalyst. This result was continued by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) analysis. Consequently, it can be concluded that highly dispersed Pt nanoparticles could be prepared by the novel pretreatment technique and thus, CO conversion could be increased considerably especially at the low temperatures below $100^{\circ}C$.

Type conversion of single walled carbon nanotube field effect transistor using stable n-type dopants

  • 단일벽 탄소 나노튜브(SWCNT)는 그 뛰어난 전기적, 물리적 특성 때문에 반도체 공정에 있어서 중요한 p-type 채널 물질로 꼽히고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SWCNT를 성장하여 이를 이용한 전계효과 트랜지스터를 제작하고 또한, 부분적인 폴리머의 코팅으로 타입을 변화하는 연구를 보이고자 한다. Ferritin용액을 DI-water에 2000배 희석하여 SiO2 기판 위에 뿌린 뒤 Methanol을 이용하여 기판 표면에 촉매가 붙어있게 한다. 이 기판을 $900^{\circ}C$로 가열하여 유기물질을 제거한 뒤 화학 기상 증착(Chemical Vapor Deposition)방법으로 SWCNT를 성장하게 된다. 이렇게 성장된 SWCNT는 촉매의 농도에 비례하는 밀도를 가지게 되며 이 위에 전극을 증착하고 back-gate를 설치하여 FET를 제작한다. 메탈릭한 SWCNT는 breakdown 공정을 통하여 제거한 뒤, 전자 농도가 높은 NADH를 전체적으로 코팅을 한다. NADH는 기존의 다른 폴리머(polyethyleneimine: PEI)에 비교하여 코팅 후 전자 제공 효과가 크며 그 성질의 재현성이 높고 공기 중에서 안정성을 유지하는 능력이 있다. 이러한 NADH의 코팅으로 n-type으로의 SWCNT FET를 제작하였으며 type conversion 현상을 이용하면 국부적인 NADH의 코팅으로 homojunction-diode의 제작 등 다양한 소자의 제작에 적용될 것으로 예상한다.

  • In the present, the focus is on the synthesis of nanostructured TiC/Co composite powder by the spray thermal conversion process using titanium dioxide powder has an average particle size of 50 nm and cobalt nitrate as raw materials. The titanium-cobalt-oxygen based oxide powder prepared by the combination of the spray drying and desalting methods. The titanium-cobalt-oxygen based oxide powder carbothermally reduced by the solid carbon. The synthesized TiC-15wt.%Co composite powder at 1473K for 2 hours had an average particle size of 150 nm.

500 MWe급 접선 연소 보일러 해석시 난류 혼합 속도 및 석탄 연소 모델의 영향 평가 (Assessment of the influence of coal combustion model and turbulent mixing rate in CFD of a 500 MWe tangential-firing boiler)

  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of large-scale coal-fired boilers requires a complicated set of flow, heat transfer and combustion process models based on different degrees of simplification. This study investigates the influence of coal devolatilization, char conversion and turbulent gas reaction models in CFD for a tangential-firing boiler at 500MWe capacity. Devolatilization model is found out not significant on the overall results, when the kinetic rates and the composition of volatiles were varied. In contrast, the turbulence mixing rate influenced significantly on the gas reaction rates, temperature, and heat transfer rate on the wall. The influence of char conversion by the unreacted core shrinking model (UCSM) and the 1st-order global rate model was not significant, but the unburned carbon concentration was predicted in details by the UCSM. Overall, the effects of the selected models were found similar with previous study for a wall-firing boiler.

  • The growth in IT industry has brought a corresponding rise in the number of connected digital devices in the distribution network. These digital loads lead to AC to DC conversion losses in order to supply power to them. The more the renewable energies and plug-in electrical vehicles penetrated our lives, the more the electrical losses are caused by AC to DC conversion process. Hence, this paper suggests the methodology for evaluating the amount of power supplied according to the ratio of DC power supply and performs an economic analysis of DC distribution system considering grid parity. In here, the cost of carbon emission reduced by renewable energy is also concerned.

  • Physical properties of composite resins such as strength, resistance to wear, discoloration, etc depend on the degree of conversion of the resin components. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the degree of conversion of the composite resins according to the thickness of tooth structure penetrated by light and applied light curing time. The coronal portions of extracted human teeth (one anterior tooth, three posterior tooth) was embedded by pink denture material. the mounted teeth were cut into three illumination sections (1mm thickness enamel section, 1mm thickness dentin section, 2mm thicknes dentin section) and one backing section with cutting wheel. Thin resin films were made by using 6kg pressure between slide glass during 5 minutes Thin resin film was light cured on coupled illumination section during 40sec, 80sec and 120sec. each illumination section was coupled as follows; no tooth structure(X), ename section(E), enamel section + 1mm dentin section(ED1), enamel section + 2mm dentin section(ED2), enamel section + 1mm dentin section + 2mm dentin section(EDD). To simulate the clinical situation more closely, thin resin films was cured against a backing section of tooth structure. The degree of conversion of carbon double bonds to single bonds in the resin films were examined by means of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer. The results were obtained as follows ; 1 As curing time was increased, conversion rate was increased and as tooth thickness which was penetrated by curing light was increased, conversion rate was decreased. 2. At all tooth thickness groups, conversion rate between 80sec and 120sec was not significantly increased(P>0.05). 3. At 40sec group and 80sec, conversion rate between no tooth structure(X) group and 1mm enamel section(E) group was not significantly decreased(P>0.05). 4. At 80sec group and 120sec, conversion rate between 1mm enamel section(E) group and 1mm enamel section + 1mm dentin section(ED1) group was not significantly decreased(P>0.05).

PdRu/Carbon Composite 촉매를 이용한 테레프탈산의 수소화 정제 (Hydropurification of Crude Terephthalic Acid over PdRu/Carbon Composite Catalyst)

  • CTA(crude terephthalic acid)의 수소화 정제 반응이 고온의 회분식반응기에서 PdRu/CCM(carbon-carbonaceous composite material) 촉매 상에서 수행되었다. 반응 시간에 따른 In(4-CBA; 4-carboxybenzaldehyde)의 의존도가 선형성을 보임에서 수소화 정제는 1차 속도론을 따름을 알 수 있었다. 촉매량에 따른 반응 속도의 선형성에서 조사된 반응 조건은 정제 반응을 잘 대변할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반응 전환율이 증가하면(4-CBA가 감소하면) 고체 및 액체의 p-toluic acid(p-tol)의 농도는 증가하였으나 벤조산(BA)의 농도는 크게 변하지 않았다. 4-CBA 농도가 대략 0.15% 이하일 때에는 PTA의 AT(alkalitransmittance)는 4-CBA농도에 반비례하며 이는 4-CBA의 수소화에 따라 발색물질도 제거 됨을 보여 준다. 4-CBA농도가 약 0.2% 이상이면 AT는 일정하였는데 이는 4-CBA 자체는 발색 효과를 가지지 않음을 보여준다. (0.3%Pd-0.2%Ru)/CCM 촉매는 0.5%Pd/C 상업 촉매에 비해 초기 활성은 낮으나, 상업 공장 반응기에서 사용한 후에는 오히려 큰 잔존 활성을 보였고 PdRu/CCM 촉매는 루테늄 함량이 약 $0.2{\sim}0.35%$ 일 때 활성의 상승효과를 보였다. PdRu/CCM 촉매는 0.5%Pd/C 상업 촉매를 대체할 가능성이 높음을 알 수 있다.

$La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Cr_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_{3-{\delta}$ Perovskite 촉매의 프로판 수증기 개질 반응에서의 특성 연구 (Study of Catalytic Performance of $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Cr_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_{3}$ Perovskite for Steam Reforming of Propane)

  • $LaCrO_{3}$를 기본으로 하는 perovskite형 재료인 $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Cr_{1-x}Ni_{x}O_{3}$(0.1 ${\leq}$ x ${\leq}$ 0.5)를 citric acid와 EDTA를 이용한 졸-겔법(sol-gel method)으로 합성하였다. 제조한 촉매의 특성분석은 BET, XRD, SEM, $H_2$-TPR, EA 그리고 TEM을 이용하였고, 프로판 수증기 개질 반응을 통하여 촉매 활성을 평가하였다. Perovskite 산화물의 A-site에는 Sr을 30 ml% 고정치환하고, B-site에 Ni 치환양을 증가시키면서 프로판 수증기 개질 반응 실험을 수행한 결과 Ni 치환양과 S/C의 비(steam to carbon ratio)가 증가할수록 프로판 전환율과 수소 수율이 향상되었다. $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Cr_{0.5}Ni_{0.5}O_{3}$(LSCN-0.5)촉매가 S/C의 비가 1.7이고, $800^{\circ}C$의 반응온도 조건에서 100%의 프로판 전환율과 95.9%의 높은 수소 수율을 나타내어 가장 좋은 촉매 활성을 보였다. 반응 후의 촉매에서는 filamentous cabon형태의 탄소 침적형태가 나타나며, Ni 치환양이 증가할수록 침적되는 탄소의 양이 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.
