High gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) is the most commonly used magnetic cell separation technique in biomedical science. However, parameters determining target cell capture efficiencies in HGMS are still not well understood. This limitation leads to loss of information and resources. The present study develops a bead-capture theory to predict capture efficiencies in HGMS. The theory is tested with CD3- and CD14-positive cells in combination with paramagnetic beads of different sizes and a generic immunomagnetic separation system. Data depict a linear relationship between normalized capture efficiency and the bead concentration. In addition, it is shown that key biological functions of target cells are not affected for all bead sizes and concentrations used. In summary, linear bead-capture theory predicts capture efficiency ($E_t$) in a highly significant manner.
Motion capture technology is widely used to make a realistic motion in these days. So, motion capture data is required to exchange between many animators in a work group. But different motion capture devices have different motion rapture data formats. Thus it is difficult that a animator reuse and exchange motion capture data in a storage. In this paper, we proposes a standard format for integrating a different motion capture data format. In addition, we proposes a framework of a system that manage motion capture data using our standard format. Our standard format is called MCML(Motion Capture Markup Language). It is a markup language for motion capture data and based on XML(extensable Markup Language). Our system to manage motion capture data consists of a several component - MCML Converter, MCML , MCML Editor, Motion Viewer.

In this paper, we investigate the capture effect through experiments conducted with Iris nodes equipped with AT86RF230 radio transceivers. It is shown that the first arriving packet in a collision can capture the radio channel for equal power transmissions and may be decoded depending on the amount of overlap. A new 3-packet-capture scenario is introduced and implemented. To be able to understand the impact of capture on the throughput performance of wireless sensor networks, we present an analysis of the capture coefficient using our practical results. For real-world implementations, the throughput of pure ALOHA considering a finite number of users is presented in analytical form. The capture coefficient is then applied to pure ALOHA as a case study. Using analytical and practical implementations of the capture effect on ALOHA, a very good match in channel throughput performance enhancement is demonstrated over the non-capture effect case. TinyOS-2.x is used to program the nodes and to observe data exchange on a computer through a base station.

The detection of high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV) allows us to predict the presence and future development of cervical intraepitheliallesion. In this study, we compared Hybrid Capture II and DNA chip methods for detection of HPV in cervical swab samples. And we evaluated the clinical efficacy and diagnostic performance of HPV DNA chip and Hybrid Capture II for detecting HPV in cervical neoplastic lesions. Seventy four patients were classified into three groups according to their histologic diagnosis: Group I (nonspecific chronic cervicitis), Group II (low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (SIL); koilocytosis, and mild dysplasia), and Group III (high-grade SIL;, moderate, severe dysplasia and in situ carcinoma). Cytologic diagnosis were based on the Bethesda System. Hybrid Capture II and DNA chip methods were performed to detect HPV. In 41 of the 74 cervical samples $(55.4\%)$, HPV DNAs were detected by Hybrid Capture II. In Group III, HPV-positive cases were detected in 15 $(20.3\%)$ of 74 patients by Hybrid Capture II. 25 patients with ASCUS cytology were histopathologically examined: 9 cases $(36\%)$ were Group II. In 18 patients with low-grade SIL cytology, 13 cases $(72.2\%)$ were Group II and 3 cases $(16.7\%)$ were Group III. 12 cases $(92.3\%)$ were Group ill of 13 patients with high-grade SIL cytology. The sensitivity of each test was $82\%$ in Hybrid Capture II and $53.9\%$ in DNA chip test. And the specificity was $74.3\%,\;85.7\%$ in Hybrid Capture II and DNA chip. In conclusion, Hybrid Capture II test is more sensitive than DNA chip in detecting women with cervical neoplastic lesions. Especially, in diagnosing of ASCUS, Hybrid Capture II test is more sensitive. Therefore, Hybrid Capture II test for cancer-associated HPV DNA is a viable option in the management of women with ASCUS.
This study analyzed on characteristics of the ground-water capture zone in coastal areas and mid-mountainous area according to pumping rate. For this study, it targeted Jejudo island where is the volcanic island. To analyze, MODFLOW model and MODPATH model, which are the ground-water flow analysis models, were used. As a result of research, the following conclusions could be obtained. As a result of analyzing influence of a change in pumping time upon length of capture zone, the length of capture zone in coastal area was indicated to be greater in the changing ratio compared to the length of capture zone in mid-mountainous area. Next, in the coastal area, the pumping rate and the capture-zone length are changing similarly. However, in mid-mountainous area, the length of capture zone was indicated to grow when the pumping rate comes to exceed 1,500m3/day. As a result of analyzing influence of a change in pumping time upon capture area, the tendency of a change in the area was indicated similarly in coastal areas and mid-mountainous area. Especially, it could be known that the larger pumping rate leads to the more definite increase in tendency to a change in capture area. Based on this study, it was allowed to be possibly used in the suitable pumping rate in coastal areas and mid-mountainous area of the volcano island in the future. A follow-up research is judged to necessarily analyze the influence of tubular-well group upon capture zone by additionally analyzing a change in capture zone targeting the concentrated tubular well.

Purpose : The simulator is used to determine patient field and ensure the treatment field, which encompasses the required anatomy during patient normal movement such as during breathing. The latest simulator provide real time display of still, flouroscopic and digitalized image, but conventional simulator is not yet. The purpose of this study is to introduce digital image capture system(DICS) using conventional simulator and clinical case using digital captured still and flouroscopic image. Methods and materials : We connect the video signal cable to the video terminal in the back up of simulator monitor, and connect the video jack to the A/D converter. After connection between the converter jack and computer, We can acquire still image and record flouroscopic image with operating image capture program. The data created with this system can be used in patient treatment, and modified for verification by using image processing software. (j.e. photoshop, paintshop) Result : DICS was able to establish easy and economical procedure. DCIS image was helpful for simulation. DICS imaging was powerful tool in the evaluation of the department specific patient positioning. Conclusion : Because the commercialized simulator based of digital capture is very expensive, it is not easily to establish DICS simulator in the most hospital. DICS using conventional simulator enable to utilize the practical use of image equal to high cost digitalized simulator and to research many clinical cases in case of using other software program.

Motion capture technology is widely used for manufacturing animation since it produces high quality character motion similar to the actual motion of the human body. However, motion capture has a significant weakness due to the lack of an industry wide standard for archiving and retrieving motion capture data. In this paper, we propose a framework to integrate, store and retrieve heterogeneous motion capture data files effectively. We define a standard format for integrating different motion capture file formats. Our standard format is called MCML (Motion Capture Markup Language). It is a markup language based on XML (eXtensible Markup Language). The purpose of MCML is not only to facilitate the conversion or integration of different formats, but also to allow for greater reusability of motion capture data, through the construction of a motion database storing the MCML documents. We propose a fuzzy string searching method to retrieve certain MCML documents including strings approximately matched with keywords. The method can be used to retrieve desired series of frames included in MCML documents not entire MCML documents.

Under the power-based capture model, a transmission is successfully received at the destination, even in the presence of other transmissions and background noise, if the received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio exceeds a capture threshold. We evaluate the spectral efficiency of simple multi-user channels by combining the basic capture model with a communication-theoretic model. The result is a more refined capture model that incorporates key system design parameters (such as achievable bit rate, target bit error rate, channel bandwidth, and modulation signal constellations) that are absent from the basic capture model. The relationships among these parameters can serve as a tool for optimizing the network performance.
To solve the pathological problems of the musculoskeletal system based on evidence, a sophisticated analysis of human motion is required. Traditional optical motion capture systems with high validity and reliability have been utilized in clinical practice for a long time. However, expensive equipment and professional technicians are required to construct optical motion capture systems, hence they are used at a limited capacity in clinical settings despite their advantages. The development of information technology has overcome the existing limit and paved the way for constructing a motion capture system that can be operated at a low cost. Recently, with the development of computer vision-based technology and optical markerless tracking technology, webcam-based 3D human motion analysis has become possible, in which the intuitive interface increases the user-friendliness to non-specialists. In addition, unlike conventional optical motion capture, with this approach, it is possible to analyze motions of multiple people at simultaneously. In a non-optical motion capture system, an inertial measurement unit is typically used, which is not significantly different from a conventional optical motion capture system in terms of its validity and reliability. With the development of markerless technology and advent of non-optical motion capture systems, it is a great advantage that human motion analysis is no longer limited to laboratories.
Objective: The aims of this study are to investigate the trends of intellectual property in order to identify the ergonomic approaches on musculoskeletal disorders, harmful factors of musculoskeletal disorders, and to find the potential applicability of motion capture technology. Background: Ergonomic posture assessment tools often showed interrater variance, though the usage is easy and practical in industrial fields. Moreover new technologies such as motion capture showed the potential applicability in posture assessment. So ergonomists and practitioners became interested in the intellectual properties on musculoskeletal disorder and motion capture technology. Method: Intellectual properties were collected with the combination of keywords such as ergonomic, musculoskeletal disorder, and motion capture using the KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service).
