AEMSER Using Adaptive Threshold Of Canny Operator To Extract Scene Text (장면 텍스트 추출을 위한 캐니 연산자의 적응적 임계값을 이용한 AEMSER)

  • Scene text extraction is important because it offers some important information on different image based applications pouring in current smart generation. Edge-Enhanced MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions) which enhances the boundaries using the canny operator after extracting the basic MSER shows excellent performance in terms of text extraction. But according to setting the threshold of the canny operator, the result images using Edge-Enhanced MSER are different, so there needs a method figuring out the threshold. In this paper, we propose a AEMSER(Adaptive Edge-enhanced MSER) that applies the method extracting the boundary using the middle value of histogram to Edge-Enhanced MSER to get the canny operator's threshold. The proposed method can acquire better result images than the existing methods because it extracts the area only for the obvious boundaries.

  • 경계선 검출은 시각 인식 또는 기계 시각 인식의 과정에서 제일 먼저 수행되는 전처리 단계이다. 경계선 검출은 컴퓨터 시각 인식성능에 매우 중대한 요인으로 작용한다. 최근 MPEG-4에서 Model Based Coding 기법이 채택되면서, 경계선 검출 및 이를 이용한 컴퓨터 시각 인식의 중요성은 날로 커지고 있다. 한편, 잡음이 있는 영상의 경계선 검출 방법으로 여러 가지가 제시되었는데, 특히 잡음의 종류가 Additive White Gaussian인 경우에는 Canny Edge Detector가, Impulse인 경우에는 Dual Stack Filter를 적용한 방법이 각각 높은 성능으로 인정을 받고 있다. 그러나 Canny Edge Detector의 경우, Canny는 이론적인 Optimal Filter를 구하는 데에 성공하였지만 실제 적용에는, 이 Optimal Filter의 근사로써 Gauss함수의 1계 도함수를 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 Gauss함수보다는 상당히 Optimal Filter와 가까운 Filter를 얻기 위하여 웨이블릿 변환을 사용한 Liao등의 방법과, 각기 다른 Scale에서의 웨이블릿 변환들이 가지는 잡음과의 관계를 고려한 새로운 경계선 검출방법을 개발하였다. 실험결과, 본 연구에서의 방법은 기존에 사용되던 Canny Edge Detector나 Stochastic Operator보다 뛰어난 성능을 보여주었다.

An Improved Level Set Method to Image Segmentation Based on Saliency

  • In order to improve the edge segmentation effect of the level set image segmentation and avoid the influence of the initial contour on the level set method, a saliency level set image segmentation model based on local Renyi entropy is proposed. Firstly, the saliency map of the original image is extracted by using saliency detection algorithm. And the outline of the saliency map can be used to initialize the level set. Secondly, the local energy and edge energy of the image are obtained by using local Renyi entropy and Canny operator respectively. At the same time, new adaptive weight coefficient and boundary indication function are constructed. Finally, the local binary fitting energy model (LBF) as an external energy term is introduced. In this paper, the contrast experiments are implemented in different image database. The robustness of the proposed model for segmentation of images with intensity inhomogeneity and complicated edges is verified.

  • Color harmony will look good formative elements of the basic lines, shapes and colors. In this paper, we present the implementation of Johannes Itten's color balance. Yellow, red, blue, on the basis of the first color mixing between the index and second color is placed. 12 color balance made by placing a third color between the first color and second color. we recognize this 12 color balance. Edge is detected using the Canny edge operator and labeling and clustering was expressed through the colors.

Development of a Dike Line Selection Method Using Multispectral Orthoimages and Topographic LiDAR Data Taken in the Nakdong River Basins

  • Dike lines are important features for describing the detailed shapes of dikes and for detecting topographic changes on dike surfaces. Historically, dike lines have been generated using only the LiDAR data. This paper proposes a new methodology for selecting an appropriate dike line on various dike surfaces using the topographic LiDAR data and multispectral orthoimages taken in the Nakdong River basins. The fi rst baselines were generated from the given LiDAR data using the modified convex hull algorithm and smoothing spline function, and the second baselines were generated from the given orthoimages by the Canny operator. Next, one baseline was selected among the two baselines at 10m intervals by comparing their elevations, and the selected baseline at 10m interval was defined as the dike line segment. Finally, the selected dike line segments were connected to construct the 3D dike lines. The statistical results show that the dike lines generated using both the LiDAR data and multispectral orthoimages had the improved horizontal and vertical accuracies than the dike lines generated only using the LiDAR data on the various dike surfaces.

  • An edge is where the intensity of an image moves from a low value to high value or vice versa. The edges tell where objects are. their shape and size. and something about their texture. Many traditional edge operators are derivative based and perform reasonably well for simple noise-free images. In recent, statistical edge detectors for complex images with noises have been described. This paper compares and analysis the performance of statistical edge detectors based on the T test and Wilcoxon test, and mathematical edge detectors based on Sobel operator, and the well-known Canny detector and Wavelet transformation detector, and provides the implementation of these edge detectors using Java on the web.

  • Edge detection always influenced by noise belong to the original image, therefore need use some methods to sort this issue, mean shift algorithm has the smooth function which suit for the edge detection purpose, so adopted to fade out the unimportant information, and the sensitive noise portions. After this section, use the Canny algorithm to pick up the contour of the objects we focus on, meanwhile select the Soble operator that has the orientation attribute to support the method work well. In final, take experiment and get the perfect result we wanted, make sure this method make sense and better than the sole Edge detection algorithm,

  • In this paper, system divide into the edge extraction, labeling, clustering, and South Korea's traditional color combination and identifying to identify Korea's traditional colors. Edge is extracted using Canny operator. And given the label, and clustering to ensure the quality of the cluster. Finally, we identify color harmony by organizing and comparing primary color with secondary color configuration table Korea traditional color.

Detection of Edges in Color Images

  • Edge detection considers the important technical details of digital image processing. Many edge detection operators already perform edge detection in digital color imaging. In this study, the edge of many real color images that represent the type of digital image was detected using a new operator in the least square approximation method, which is a type of numerical method. The Linear Fitting algorithm is computationally more expensive compared to the Canny, LoG, Sobel, Prewitt, HIS, Fuzzy, Parametric, Synthetic and Vector methods, and Robert' operators. The results showed that the new method can detect an edge in a digital color image with high efficiency compared to standard methods used for edge detection. In addition, the suggested operator is very useful for detecting the edge in a digital color image.

Registration between High-resolution Optical and SAR Images Using linear Features (선형정보를 이용한 고해상도 광학영상과 SAR 영상 간 기하보정)

  • Precise image-to-image registration is required to process multi-sensor data together. The purpose of this paper is to develop an algorithm that register between high-resolution optical and SAR images using linear features. As a pre-processing step, initial alignment was fulfilled using manually selected tie points to remove any dislocations caused by scale difference, rotation, and translation of images. Canny edge operator was applied to both images to extract linear features. These features were used to design a cost function that finds matching points based on their similarity. Outliers having larger geometric differences than general matching points were eliminated. The remaining points were used to construct a new transformation model, which was combined the piecewise linear function with the global affine transformation, and applied to increase the accuracy of geometric correction.
