  • In this study, the authors evaluate the suitability of the candidate routes selected by the route selection method, which is developed by the authors, by combination of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Analytic Hierarchy Process. To evaluate the suitability of the candidate routes, from the viewpoint of the residents, we have considered element factors such as, population, household, aging situation, elevation, gradient, housing density and the Control Point. The results of this study are expected to assess the suitability of the candidate routes of the hillside transportation for the residents and examine the application limit of the route selection method.

A Study on Detecting Glasses in Facial Image

  • In this paper, we propose a method of glasses detection in facial image. we develop a detection method of glasses with a weighted sum of the results that detected by facial element detection and glasses frame candidate region. Component of the face detection method detects the glasses, by defining the detection probability of the glasses according to the detection of a face component. Method using the candidate region of the glasses frame detects the glasses, by defining feature of the glasses frame in the candidate region. finally, The results of the combined weight of both methods are obtained. The proposed method in this paper is expected to increase security system's recognition on facial accessories by raising detection performance of glasses or sunglasses for using ATM.

다단계 부분 구조법에 의한 비 압축성 유동 계산 (An Incompressible Flow Computation using a Multi-level Substructuring Method)

  • Substructuring methods are usually used in finite element structural analyses. In this study a multi-level substructuring algorithm is developed and proposed as a possible candidate for incompressible fluid solves. Finite element formulation for incompressible flow has been stabilized by a modified residual procedure proposed by Ilinca et.al.[5]. The present algorithm consists of four stages such as a gathering stage, a condensing stage, a solving stage and a scattering stage. At each level, a predetermined number of elements are gathered and condensed to form an element of higher level. At highest level, each subdomain consists of only one super-element. Thus, the inversion process of a stiffness matrix associated with internal degrees of freedom of each subdomain has been replaced by a sequential static condensation. The global algebraic system arising feom the assembly of each subdomains is solved using Conjugate Gradient Squared(CGS) method. In this case, pre-conditioning techniques usually accompanied by iterative solvers are not needed.

자연 영상에서 얼굴영역 검출 알고리즘 (Face region detection algorithm of natural-image)

  • 본 논문에서는 자연 영상에서 피부색 색상과 채도를 기초로 얼굴영역을 추출하고 얼굴의 특징요소를 추출하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 조명보정과 얼굴 검출 과정으로 구성되었다. 조명 보정 과정에서는 조명변화에 대한 보정기능을 수행한다. 얼굴 검출 과정은 20개의 피부색 표본 영상에서 색상과 채도를 특징벡터로 사용, 입력영상과의 유클리디안 거리를 구하여 피부색 영역을 추출하였다. 추출된 얼굴 후보영역을 CMY칼라 모델에서 C요소로 눈을 검출하였고, YIQ 칼라 공간에서 Q요소로 입을 검출하였다. 추출된 얼굴 후보영역에서 일반적인 얼굴에 대한 지식을 기반으로 얼굴 영역을 검출하였다. 입력받은 10장의 자연 영상으로 실험한 결과 100%의 얼굴 검출율을 보였다.

190 kVA급 초전도한류소자의 특성 (Characteristics of a 190 kVA Superconducting Fault current Limiting Element)

  • We are developing a 22.9 kV/25 MVA superconducting fault current limiting(SFCL) system for a power distribution network. A Bi-2212 bulk SFCL element, which has the merits of large current capacity and high allowable electric field during fault of the power network, was selected as a candidate for our SFCL system. In this work, we experimentally investigated important characteristics of the 190 kVA Bi-2212 SFCL element in its application to the power grid e.g. DC voltage-current characteristic, AC loss, current limiting characteristic during fault, and so on. Some experimental data related to thermal and electromagnetic behaviors were also compared with the calculated ones based on numerical method. The results show that the total AC loss at rated current of the 22.9 kV/25 MVA SFCL system, consisting of one hundred thirty five 190 kVA SFCL elements, becomes likely 763 W, which is excessively large for commercialization. Numerically calculated temperature of the SFCL element in some sections is in good agreement with the measured one during fault. Local temperature distribution in the190 kVA SFCL element is greatly influenced by non-uniform critical current along the Bi-2212 bulk SFCL element, even if its non-uniformity becomes a few percentages.

정치인의 외모에 나타난 선거승리의 요인으로써 아름다움(美)과 성(性) (A Gender and The Beauty Showed in Politician's Facial Appearance as an Element of Winning in the Election Process)

  • 이제 우리나라는 이른바 선거의 계절이 연달아 돌아온다. 20대 총선과 19대 대선이 그것이다. 대선 후보 논의를 하다 보면 사람들이 후보의 생김새나 말투, 음성, 옷차림 등에도 적잖이 좌우됨을 깨닫게 된다. 한 설문결과를 보니 대통령을 뽑을 때 무엇을 가장 중요하게 보느냐라는 물음에 능력과 경력, 정책 등이 높은 순위였고, 그 상식적인 덕목을 바로 뒤따르는 게 인물과 이미지였다. 이 연구는 선거를 통한 공직후보 당선자의 얼굴을 연구하였다. 이 연구는 아름다움(美)과 성(性)별이 선거의 승리에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 고찰하였다. 구체적으로는 선거유인물 상에 제시된 홍보사진을 이용한 설문조사를 분석하였다. 분석결과 비록 아름다움이라는 요소가 통계적으로는 유의미한 역할을 한다고 할지라도 이와 같은 아름다움이라는 요소 보다는 투표결정에 보다 강력한 관련을 갖는 것은 후보자에 대한 적격성 그리고 신뢰성 이라는 것을 파악할 수 있었다. 필자는 또한 아름다움과 적격성의 평가가 긍정적으로 서로 연관되어 있다는 사실을 발견하였다.

알루미늄 판재 적용 십자형 액압성형 공정의 해석 및 실험적 고찰 (The Study of Sheet Hydro-Mechanical Forming Process for Aluminum Alloy Sheets by Experiment and Finite Element Analysis)

  • Hydro-mechanical forming process has numerous advantages compared to those of a conventional deep drawing process such as an excellent surface quality and low costs of dies. In fact, Hydro-mechanical forming is a desirable forming process for producing complex parts in automotive body components, and it is an excellent candidate for the forming process of aluminum panels. In this research, Hydro-mechanical forming process with a cross shape punch has been studied for Al-Si-Mg alloy sheets. Finite element analysis by LS-Dyna has predicted the deep drawing depth of the aluminum sheets, and the experiment has confirmed that result. Put Abstract text here.

주자유도 선정을 위한 2단계 축소기법의 제안과 축소시스템 구성에 관한 연구 (Two-Level Scheme for Selection of Degrees of freedom by Energy Estimation Combined with Sequential Elimination)

  • A number of approximate techniques have been developed to calculate the eigenvalues in a reduced manner. These schemes approximate the lower eigenvalues that represent the global behavior of the structures. In general, sequential elimination has been widely used with reliability. But it takes excessively large amount of time to construct a reduced system. The present study proposes two-level condensation scheme(TLCS). In the first step, the candidate elements are selected by element-level energy estimation. In the second step, master degrees of freedom are selected by sequential elimination from the candidate degrees of freedom linked to the selected elements in the first step. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed method saves computational cost effectively and provides a reduced system which predicts the accurate eigenvalues of global system.

2단계 축소기법에 의한 축소시스템의 구성과 동하중에 의한 구조물의 동적 거동에 관한 연구 (Construction of the reduced system by two-level scheme and time integration in the reduced system under arbitrary loading)

  • This study proposes a new two-level condensation scheme for the construction of a reduced system. In the first step, the candidate area is selected for the construction of the reduced system by energy estimation in element-level. In the second step, primary degrees of freedom are selected by sequential elimination from the candidate degrees of freedom linked to the selected elements. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed method saves the computational cost effectively and provides a reduced system which predicts the eigenvalues accurately. Moreover, the well-constructed reduced system can present the reliable behavior of the structure under arbitrary dynamic loads comparing to that of global system. Time integration in a reduced system can save the computing time remarkably. Through a few numerical examples, the efficiency and reliability of the proposed scheme are verified.
