  • This paper introduced the new calibration algorithm of a straight-type five-hole pressure probe necessary for calculating three-dimensional flow velocity components. The new velocity data reduction method using both a commercial two-dimensional curve-fitting program and the zone partition method of a calibration map was firstly introduced in this study. This new calibration method can be applied up to the wide flow angle of ${\pm}80^{\circ}$ despite of using a five-hole pressure probe because this data reduction method showed a comparatively good performance in calculating yaw and pitch angles from the calibration map.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing methods for calculating or estimating the consumptive use (Evaportranspiration) of any agricutural development project area. In determing the consumptive use water in the project area, there will require the best way for estimating irrigation requirement. Many methods for computing the evaportranspiration have been used, each of them with its merits and demerits at home and abroad. Some of these methods are listed as follows: 1.The Penman's formula 2.The B1aney-Criddle method 3.The Munson P.E. Index method 4.The Atmometer method 5.The Texas Water Rights Commission (TWRC) method 6.The Jensen-Haise method 7.The Christiasen method Therefore, the authors will introduce the more widely used method for calculating Consumptive Use by G.H. Hargreaves. The formula is expressed in the form Ep= K·d·T (1.0-0.01·Hn) Hn=1.0+0.4H+0.005H2. This method was adopted for the first time to determine the Irrigation requirements of Ogseo Comprehensive Agricultual Development project (Benefited area:100,500ha) in Korea. This method is presented in somewhat greater detail than the others. Formula is given for the computation of evaportranspiration (with various levels of data availability) Sampel computation of irrigation requirements for Ogseo irrigation project is included. The results and applied materials are summarized as follows. 1. In calculating the Hargreaves formula, the mean temperature relative, humidity, length of day, and percentage of sunshine from three stations of Iri, Jeonju, and Gunsan were used. 2. Monthly evaporation values were calculated by using the formula. 3. Meteological data from the three stations records for the ten years (1963∼1972) were used. 4. The annual irrigation requirements is 1,186mm per hectare, but the case to consider effective rainfall amount takes the annual irrigation demand being 700mm per hectare.

Development of Computer Program for Solving Astronomical Ship Position Based on Circle of Equal Altitude Equation and SVD-Least Square Algorithm

  • This paper presents an improvement for calculating method of astronomical ship position based on circle of equal altitude equation. In addition, to enhance the accuracy of ship position achieved from solving equation system, the authors used singular value decomposition (SVD) in least square method instead of normal decomposition. In maths, the SVD was proved more numerically stable than normal decomposition. Therefore, the solution of equation system will be more efficient and the result would be more accurate than previous methods. By proposal algorithm, a computer program have been developed to help the navigators in calculating directly ship position when the modern equipment has failure. Finally, some of experiments are carried out to verify effectiveness of proposed algorithm, the results show that the accuracy of ship position based on new method is better than the intercept method.

  • It is well known that many real systems have asymmetric mass, damping and stiffness matrices. In this case, the method for calculating eigenpair sensitivity is different from that of symmetric system. To determine the derivatives of the eigenpairs in asymmetric damped case, a modal method was recently developed by Adhikari. When a dynamic system has many degrees of freedom, only a few lower modes are available, and because the higher modes should be truncated to use the modal method, the errors may become significant. In this paper a procedure for determining the sensitivities of the eigenpairs of asymmetric damped system using a few lowest set of modes is proposed. Numerical examples show that proposed method achieves better calculating efficiency and highly accurate results when a few modes are used.

  • This paper presents a efficient algorithm for calculating power transfer capability in interconnected large power system. The approach is based on interior point method. The efficiency of this method is favorable for large systems. IEEE RTS-96 power system is utilized to evaluate the proposed method.

  • In this paper, a new method for calculating capacitance in multi-electrode system with arbitrarily shape is presented. This new approach based on divergence theorem and Gauss's law is achieved by Surface-Contacted Element(SCE) for Gaussian surface. To evaluate capacitance in multi-electrode system, two dimensional finite element method using only the elements which is contacted one nod (PE: Point-Element) or two nod (FE: Face-Element) with surface is employed. The proposed SCE method has short computing time to calculate capacitance which is because it uses only SCE elements and needs one calculation loop while exiting FEM method in servral loops. This method is verified by application in calculating capacitance using potential detection device model which is composed with anode, cathode, and floating electrode.

  • This paper presents a method to calculate a sag cumulative table and density table based on the area of vulnerability to voltage sags. The expected sag performance at sensitive load points can be easily assessed through the calculation of the sag cumulative table and density table. However, the calculation of the tables regarding large power systems is very difficult task. Therefore, an efficient method for calculating the tables is needed. In this paper, the improved method to determine the areas of vulnerability is addressed and the method to calculate the tables based on the area of vulnerability is also described. The proposed scheme can be efficiently used to assess the voltage sag performance at sensitive load points in large power systems.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 물가변동에 따른 실적공사비 등락률 산출 과정의 문제점과 개선방안을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 이 연구를 수행하기 위해서, 실적공사비 내역이 포함된 현장을 표본으로 실적공사비적용 방식 및 품셈적용 방식으로 물 가변동률을 산출하여 문제점을 분석하고 물가변동금액 산출에 대한 개선방안을 제안하였다. 이에 따른 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 전체공사 내역 중 실적공사비 단가로 작성된 내역에 대해선 품셈 방식을 준용하여 물가변동 부분을 산출하는 것이 더 적정한 것으로 나타났다. 2) 산출방식에 혼선이 없도록 관련 법령 및 규정에서의 실적공사비 등락률 산출부분을 품셈으로 풀어 산정하도록 일부개정이 이루어져야 하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 공기연장과 관련한 많은 연구에도 불구하고 국내 공공 공사의 공기연장 추가간접비 산정방법에 대한 구체적인 연구가 없어 쟁점이 심화되고 있다. 또한 명확한 산정기준이 마련되지 않아 산정방식이 여러 가지로 혼용되고 있으며 타당성을 갖는 산정방식에 대한 고찰을 담은 연구가 없는 실정이다. 특히 장기계속계약에서의 휴지기발생시 추가간접비와 관련된 연구는 전무하다. 본 연구는 공사기간 동안 발생하는 비용의 패턴을 고려하여 국내 공공 공사의 특성을 반영한 공기연장 간접비 산출 방식을 제시하기 위해 현행 공기연장 간접비 산정 기준을 고찰하고 실태를 조사한 후 실제 사용되는 산정방식을 모형사례에 적용하여 그 산출결과를 비교 고찰하였다. 그 결과를 통해 기존 산정방식에 대한 문제점을 고찰하였으며, 기존 산정방식의 문제점을 고찰하는 과정에서 장기계속계약공사의 휴지기로 인한 추가간접비 산정에 적합한 산정방식인 '공사중지기간 총 실비산정방법'을 제시하였다.
