  • In this paper, we propose and evaluate symbol timing recovery algorithm for S-DMT cable modern, which supports more channels and better quality symmetric mutimedia service over HFC network. We adopt timing recovery algorithm of PN sequence insertion in time domain and evaluate the performance of it in various noise channel such as AWGN, ISI, impulse. We verified that performance of this algorithm is depends on the channel noise environment and sampling clock offset and that over 10 dB degradation of Eb/No is occurred at the timing failure probability of $10^3$ in the composite noise channel of AWGN, ISI, and impulse in comparison with impulse noise-alone channel. finally, we verified that this algorithm showed good timing failure probability in case of sampling clock optimization was performed in advance.

  • In this paper, we introduce a biped walking robot which can do static walking with 22 degree-of-freedoms. The developed biped walking robot is 480mm tall and 2500g, and is constructed by 22 RC servo motors. Before making an active algorithm, we generate the motions of robot with a motion simulator developed using C language. The two dimensional simulator is based on the inverse kinematics and D-H transform. The simulator implements various motions as we input the ankle's trajectory. Also the simulator is developed by applying the principle of inverted pendulum to acquisite the center of gravity. As we use this simulator, we can get the best appropriate angle of ankle or pelvic when the robot lifts up its one side leg during the walking. We implement the walking motions which is based on the data(angle) getting from both of simulators. The robot can be controlled by text shaped command through RF signal of wireless modem which is connected with laptop computer by serial cable.

  • ISDN, the beginning of broadband and multimedia service, is a digital network that provides integrated end-to-end digital telecommunication services for transmissions of different kinds of information, from voice and facsimiles to data and images. In Japan, Britain and U. S there has been shown the demand of ISDN is considerable and ISDN technology is becoming quite stable. Furthermore, their ISDN service experience helps them to set up and carry out the marketing strategies for Internet access services such as ADSL, Cable Modem and WLL, etc. This paper examines and compares services, charge and discount scheme of ISDN across 14 telecommunication carriers. It can be utilize as a reference for diffusing ISDN as well as developing Internet access services and marketing strategies.

  • Recently, operating equipment with the high quality is necessary as technology is developing rapidly and equipment becomes more accurate. Therefore, the importance of diagnosis has been rising in modem industries. This paper presents that the induction motor is driven by invertor. We were using EMTP (Electromagnetic Transient Program) to study different characteristics of induction motor caused by faults; single phasing and the short circuit fault. After having the fault occurred in feeder cable, motor current, flux and torque waveform are analyzed

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning and depth of traditional knitwears, and to develop knitwear designs by using Aran motif, one of major motifs of traditional knitwears and on the basis of the 'continuance' theory of Henri Bergson and Jill Deleuze. Connectivity, the sense of space and deconstructive fluidity-basic concepts of the continuance theory-are felt in such forms as pleats, origami, and air pumping systems, blob and twisting used in the modem fashion. The motif of Aran knitwear which has a long historical tradition can be reinterpreted in terms of those concepts of the continuance theory. In this study, we designed five pieces of knitwear while applying cable motif, an important motif of Aran knitwear, and the concepts of the continuance theory to them. This study will make a contribution to the designing of knit wears through reinterpretation of a traditional motif in terms of a modem philosophical thought.

  • This paper examines the theoretical and empirical technology diffusion processes to understand the Korean success in the internet access service markets. In order to do this, first, we propose an integrated demand diffusion model in terms of competition of inter-and intra-technologies and market structure as represented by the number of operators in the market. Second, by using the proposed model, we analyze the dynamic diffusion processes of Korean internet access services such as Narrow-band technology including Dial modem vs. Broad-band technology including ISDN, xDSL and Cable modem. The competition of inter-and intra-technologies as well as the extent of market competition has made a positive effect on the diffusion patterns of internet access demand. And also we propose, based on the proposed model and its empirical results, several implications for diffusion strategies and policies in the future of ICT market in Korea.

Nowadays, the research on the digital network in home(HAN, Home Area Network) is now under studying This technology is more and more required accordmg to development of digitalized household e1ecil1c allplmnces and the digItal data/control network The Intemet technology requirement in ome Area is also on the increase The Internat Icchnology now using in home is through ADSL modem and Cable modem. From now on, the prospect of the Home Area Network environment will be developed until FTTH(Fibcr To The Home) In this paper, we mcssure the network propagation perfonnance to verify which the user in home can enjoy the diiltal multimedia data throngh these high speedinternet technology. We also measme another performance when we use these high speed mternet technology as FTTH.

  • The incidence of fire in underground utility tunnel is lower than other fires, but the damage caused by fire can cause social loss due to social management paralysis as well as economic loss. Hereupon, this paper presents the results of an empirical test on the construction of the underground utility tunnel condition monitoring system using the leakage coaxial cable installed in the underground utility tunnel. For this reason, a verification test was conducted by connecting a inductive coupler 200 Mbps power line communication modem with insertion loss characteristics of $-6{\pm}2dB$ to the installed the leakage coaxial cable installed in the underground utility tunnel. As a result, We confirmed sending/receiving of IP cameras up to 500 m. Therefore, it is judged that it is possible to construct a condition monitoring system for underground utility tunnel by using the leakage coaxial cables installed in the underground utility tunnels without installing additional communication lines for data transmission.

  • Due to a development of a modem technology as Power Line Communication(PLC) over 200 Mbps, the high-speed multi-media data trasmission could be currently possible. The strength of the PLC has no more additional wiring work. PLC has also possible to high quality data transmission with currently electrical cable. It has a various strong point campare with existing wire and wireless communication technologies. In This paper we develop a high quality media transmitter-receiver based on merging the HomePlug AV, which is 200 Mbps class PLC technology and HDMI Interface technology. The video function was used for the VEDEO TEST GENERATOR in order to a property valuation. Smart Live 6 software were used for the assessment of audio property. As the result of measurement of the HD class images by capturing from the receiver of the PLC, the quality of images couldn't be confirm any deterioration, which has compared with original reflections. In case of audio part as the result of confirmation of the Phase, Magnitude, it has been confirmed that over 90% of nomal transmition and receiving of acoustic signal. It can be possible to have HD class Media service through the PLC.
