X-Band Phased Array Antenna Using Ferroelectric $(Ba,Sr)TiO_3$ Coplanar Waveguide Phase Shifter

  • A phased array antenna was fabricated using four-element ferroelectric phase shifters with a coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line structure based on a $Ba_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}TiO_3(BST)/MgO$ structure. Epitaxial BST films were deposited on MgO (001) substrates by pulsed laser deposition. To attain the large differential phase shift and small losses for a ferroelectric CPW phase shifter, an impedance-matching-part adding technique between the effective transmission line and connecting cable was used. The return loss and insertion loss for this techniqueadapted BST CPW device were improved with respect to those for a normal BST CPW device. For an X-band phased array antenna system consisting of ferroelectric BST CPW phase shifters, power divider, dc block, patch antenna, and programmed dc power, the steering beam could be tilted by $15^{\circ}$ in either direction.

지중배전케이블에서 반도전층을 고려한 주파수 응답 및 전파특성 분석 (Analysis of Frequency Response Characteristic Considering Semiconducting Screen in Underground Distribution Cables)

  • This paper describes frequency response and propagation characteristics considering semiconducting screen in distribution cables. In CIGRE WG 21-05, Simplified Approach(SA) and Rigorous Approach(RA) which can revise the permittivity considering semiconducting screen propose for more detailed EMTP model and frequency dependant analysis. In this paper, the frequency dependent characteristics of complex permittivity are variously analysed by cole-cole function of RA. The attenuation, propagation velocity and surge impedance according to frequency range(1 kHz to 500 MHz) and cable length are also analysed by SA and EMTP simulation in distribution cables. The propagation velocity considering semiconducting screen is slower, and it is saturated over the range of 1 MHz. The signal is significantly attenuated as frequency range is high.

Blumlein 펄스파워 전원개발 및 방전특성 평가 (Evaluation of Discharge Characteristics Followed by the Development of Blumlein Pulsed Power Source)

  • This paper discussed the theoretical simulation results for developing the blumlein pulsed power source and showed the circuit configuration and the discharge characteristics of the realistic manufactured pulsed power system. In the simulation, the output voltage characteristics at a load resistor showed the general impulse shape when the impedance of a single coaxial cable is matched with the that of a load resistor. In addition, it is confirmed that output values of the pulsed power can be easily controlled by the duplication of coaxial cables and the pulsed waveform showed the general impulse characteristics. Specifically, the inception discharge voltage in the gap distance of 5[mm] between needle and plane electrodes is about 20[kV] and which is lower than about 29[kV] in 9[mm] due to the difference of the reaching time of the inception voltage. Therefore, this paper showed that the output voltage of the blumlein pulsed power source can be easily controlled.

유전체 도파관 모델을 이용한 육면체 공진기 안테나 분석 (Analysis of Rectangular DRA(Dielectric Resonator Antenna) using Dielectric Waveguide Model))

  • 본 논문에는 유전체 도파관 모델을 이용하여 육면체 유전체 공진기 안테나의 공진주파수, Qrad 및 임파던스 대역폭에 대한 근사 결과를 넓은 종횡비에 대하여 3D 그래프로 제시하고 시뮬레이션 및 측정 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 비교를 위해 상대 유전율이 37.84와 90인 유전체를 개구 결합 및 동축선로 급선하였는데 공진주파수는 약 8% 정도의 예측오차를 갖는 것이 확인되었고 임피던스 대역폭도 급전방식에 따라 차이가 날수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 데이터들은 유전체 공지기 안테나 설계시 주어진 공진주파수와 대역폭에 대한 종횡비 선정시 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

  • We designed a 3.3 V, 400 Mbps IEEE-1394 physical layer transeiver on 0.6um 1P3M CMOS process. The transceiver drives a twisted pair cable of which differential impedance is 110 $\Omega$ so that differential amplitude reaches 200 mV at 400 Mbps and restores this small signal to rail-to-rail. Also, the transceiver arbitrates the interface among nodes on a bus configuration and supports both synchronous interface and asynchronous interface.

  • In this paper the approximated analysis method of industrial distribution system using PTW(Power Tools for Windows). System input data, cable impedance and transformer data etc., were calculated by the approximated method using EMTP(Electro Magnetic Transient Program). The effectiveness of this method was improved by electrical characteristics analysis of real factory.

  • The importance of modern electronic devices is gradually increased and, the requirement of the safe and reliable earthing and bonding for protection of the electronic devices is consequently absolute. The electrical continuity and physical strength of the bonding work in rail signal and impedance bonding is also one of the important issues. The thermit welding for earth cable connection and rail bonding work proposed hereunder is an effectively applicable in many fields of rail industries.

  • The electromagnetic characteristics of FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles) are much different from the existing combustion engine cars as well as hybrid, plug-in-hybrid, and pure electric vehicles due to the high voltage/current generated by a fuel cell stack which uses a compressed hydrogen gas reacted with oxygen. To operate fuel cell stack efficiently, BOP (Balance of Plant) which is consisted of many motors in water pump, air blower, and hydrogen recycling pump as well as inverters for these motors is essential. Furthermore, there are also electric systems for entertainment, information, and vehicle control such as navigation, broadcasting, vehicle dynamic control systems, and so on. Since these systems are connected by high voltage or general cables, EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) analysis for high voltage and general cable of FCEV is the most important element to prevent the possible electric functional safety errors. In this paper, electromagnetic fields by high voltage and general cables for FCEVs is studied. From numerical analysis results, total time harmonic electromagnetic field strength from high voltage and general cables have difference of 13~16 dB due to ground effect by impedance matching. The EMI results of FECV at 10 m distance shows difference of 41 dB at 30 MHz and 54 dB at 230 MHz compared with only general cable routing.

고속철도 AF궤도회로경계구간 케이블길이 변화에 따른 전기특성 분석연구 (A Study on Analysis Electrical Characteristics of Cable Lenght change about area Boundary of UM71C Audio Frequency Track Circuit)

  • 본 논문은 2004년 경부고속선 개통이후 UM71C AF궤도회로 현장 구성품(BU, SVaC, DB)들이 선로내측 자갈도상에 설치되어 있기 때문에 겨울철 고속차량 낙빙 및 시설분야 장비작업으로 인한 파손사례가 자주 발생되어 시설물 보호를 위한 개선대책일환으로 선로내측에 설치된 구성품을 선로외측으로 이설할 경우 케이블 길이 변화에 따른 임피던스 특성변화와 보상콘덴서 추가구성을 위하여 MATLAB Simulink를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 시행하였고 또한 고속선 현장실증시험을 통하여 시뮬레이션과 동일한 결과를 얻었다. 향후 궤도회로사구간에 대한 보완과 구성품내부 임피던스 재설계 연구를 통하여 실제 현장에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Optimization of Operation Frequency of Orthogonal Fluxgate Sensor Fabricated with Co Based Amorphous Wire

  • We present how to optimize the operation condition including frequency of the orthogonal fluxgate sensor in this paper. The orthogonal fluxgate sensor was fabricated with a Co-based amorphous wire with 10 mm long and 100 ${\mu}m$ in the diameter and a 270-turn pickup coil wound on the amorphous wire. In order to investigate the frequency dependence of the sensitivity, output spectra of the sensor which was connected by using a coaxial cable with various lengths of 0.5-5 m were measured with a RF lock-in amplifier. The maximum sensitivities were obtained at different frequencies according to coaxial cable lengths. It was found that the optimal operation frequencies, at which maximum sensitivities were appeared, were almost identical to the frequencies of impedance resonance. The maximum sensitivity and optimal operation frequency were 1.1 V/Oe (${\approx}$ 11000 V/T) and 1.25 MHz respectively.
