전기로 High Current Cable 고장진단 알고리즘 개발 (Developing a fault diagnosis algorithm on a high current cable of arc furnace)

  • In the steel industry, a steel melting electric arc furnace is used to produce both carbon and alloy steels. Steel scrap which is charged into the furnace is heated by means of electric arc between graphite electrodes and the scrap. In this melting process, current is supplied to the furnace through HCC(high current cable) which connect the furnace and transformer. Four HCCs are assigned to each phase in our system to divide the current. Since a sudden cable breaking result in the shutdown of melting process, an aging detection of HCC is very important for both an improvement of productivity and cost reduction. In this paper, the aging of the HCC is estimated by using the current ratio between four HCCs.

  • This paper describes a diagnosis of cable splices by analysis of ultrasonic signals which is generated by partial discharge. Peak-peak amplitude of ultrasonic signals was used to diagnose cable splices. It is proposed that aging discrimination is possible by analysis of ultrasonic signals in cable splices.

  • 국내에서의 전력에 대한 수요는 점진적으로 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 수요에 대응하기 위한 발전소는 기능이 다양해지고 효율이 점차 커져야 한다. 발전소 내의 전력 기기에서 사고가 발생하면 막대한 경제적 손실 및 장애를 초래하게 된다. 사고 발생의 원인 중의 하나로서 절연 성능이 저하 된 케이블이 있다. 케이블 사고를 미연에 방지하기 위하여 절연의 상태를 감시하고 확인하여야 한다. 케이블 사고는 연결 부위인 접속에서 발생하는 사고가 대부분을 차지한다. 본 연구와 관련하여 우리는 접속부 상태를 판별하기 위한 장비를 개발하였고, 한국서부발전(주)의 현장에 설치하여 운용 중이다. 본 논문에서는 현장에서 설치 운용 중인 장비에 대한 설명과 더불어 설치 운용된 결과를 통해 케이블의 수명을 예측할 수 있는 고전압 케이블 접속재의 안정적 사용을 위한 온라인 감시진단기법 중에서 사고가 가장 빈번하게 발생하는 접속부에 대해 안정적인 사용을 위한 진단의 정확성과 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위한 연구를 하였다. 이 논문에서 하드웨어 구성을 위주로 우리가 개발한 장비를 소개한다.

  • This paper describes a diagnosis of distribution cable splices by analysis of ultrasonic signals which are generated by partial discharge. A method of ultrasonic signal was used to detect internal defects in distribution cable splices. It is possible that analysis of ultrasonic signal predicts failure by partial discharge generated in distribution cable splices.

원자력발전소 전력케이블 부분방전 진단 사례 (Partial Discharge Measurement of Power Cables for Nuclear Power Plant)

  • Electric cables are one of the most important components in a nuclear power plant since they provide the power needed to operate electrical equipment. Despite their importance, cables typically receive little attention since they are considered passive, long-lived components that have been very reliable over the years when subjected to the environmental conditions for which they were designed. The operating experience reveals that a defect of the insulator or poor construction causes the initial failure of cable. However, the number of cable failures increase with plant aging, and these cable failures are occurring within the plants' 40-year licensed period. These cable failures have resulted in plant transients, shutdown, loss of safety functions or redundancy, entries into limiting conditions for operation, and challenges for plant operators. Therefore, diagnosis of MV cable installed in NPPs has become one of the most urgent issues in recent years. In accordance with PSR, condition maintenance for cables is also continuously required. Recently, HFPD tests have been widely performed to diagnose cable in the transmission and distribution cable system. However, on-line HFPD wasn't used in the NPPs because of the danger of plant shutdown, measurement sensitivity and application problems, etc. In this paper, HFPD measurement with portable device was performed to evaluate the integrity of the 4.16kV & 13.8kV cable lines. The test results show that HFPD is highly attractive to the diagnosis of MV cables in NPP by high detection sensitivity on-site.

22.9kV 다중 접지 지중 전력 케이블의 가압 상태 진단에 관한 기초 연구 (A Study on Diagnosis of The Energized Status of 22.9kV Multigrounded Underground Power Cable)

  • An experimental study to identify the energized status of the 22.9kV underground power cable by the detection of vibration has been performed. We have derived that there exists vibration at double the line frequency in live cables by electromagnetic force. The relative amplitudes of the cable vibration according to the energized status of the cable were calculated by computer simulation. The cable vibration can also be picked up by accelerometer. A prototype was tested on the underground distribution system in Chonan substation, KEPCO. Comparison between simulation results and field test results was performed. The results showed that the energized status of the calble can be identified by measuring the vibration of the cable using accelerometer.

  • Cable systems are a construction of elements carrying only tension and no compression or bending in membrane structure. Tensile membrane structures are most often used as roofs as they can economically and attractively span large distances. But cable systems have weaknesses to vibration by earthquake, wind and vehicle loads. Damage detection of cable systems by using existing safety diagnosis is difficult to detect the characteristic change of overall structural action. If cable snaps are occurred to cable release and tear in tension structures, these are set up a vibration. So, we used piezo-electric materials, and The principle of operation of a piezoelectric sensor is that a physical dimension, transformed into a force, acts on two opposing faces of the sensing element. In this study, the development on test method of cable system is proposed and tested by tensile strength using piezo-electric materials.

  • HFPD(High Frequency Partial Discharge) measurement has been widely performed to diagnose cable system in the world. Shin-Yeongdeungpo 345kV XLPE line was successfully diagnosed by PD measurement methode last year. Moreover, aged power cable lines which were installed 15 years ago have been tested from this year. In this paper, the result of PD diagnosis for aged 154kV cable line is reported. The PD pattern from TMJ which was monitored by PD measurement system for several days showed typical void pattern. The joint was replaced and voids between semi-conductor layer and insulating layer in the joint was founded.

  • 본 논문에서는 케이블 첩속부 내부 계면얘서 발생하는 부분방전에 의한 초음파 선호를 계측, 분석함으로써 예방진단기법을 제시하고자 한다, 초음파 선호의 분석 방법으로는 wavelet transfonn으로 필터링 하여 얻은 주요 특성 선호만올 Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)로 분석하였다. 그 결과 계면에 수분과 금속가루 존재시 그리고 인가 전압이 높아짐에 따라 서로 다른 특성을 얻을 수 있었다.
