In this study, Fe-Ni slag, converter slag and dephosphorization slag generated from the steel industry, and fly ash or bottom ash from a power plant, were mixed at an appropriate mixing ratio and melted in a melting furnace in a mass-production process for glass ceramics. Then, glass-ceramic products, having a basalt composition with $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, CaO, MgO, and $Fe_2O_3$ components, were fabricated through casting and heat treatment process. Comparison was made of the samples before and after the modification of the process conditions. Glass-ceramic samples before and after the process modification were similar in chemical composition, but $Al_2O_3$ and $Na_2O$ contents were slightly higher in the samples before the modification. Before and after the process modification, it was confirmed that the sample had a melting temperature below $1250^{\circ}C$, and that pyroxene and diopside are the primary phases of the product. The crystallization temperature in the sample after modification was found to be higher than that in the sample before modification. The activation energy for crystallization was evaluated and found to be 467 kJ/mol for the sample before the process modification, and 337 kJ/mol for the sample after the process modification. The degree of crystallinity was evaluated and found to be 82 % before the process change and 87 % after the process change. Mechanical properties such as compressive strength and bending strength were evaluated and found to be excellent for the sample after process modification. In conclusion, the samples after the process modification were evaluated and found to have superior characteristics compared to those before the modification.

The elemental characteristics of atmospheric aerosols were investigated as a function of particle size and water solubility. The aerosol particles were samples at 12 individual size ranges between 0.01 and 30㎛. Collected aerosol particles were separated into both soluble and insoluble components. The concentrations of 15 elements in both components were determined by a PIXE analysis using a 2.0 MeV-proton beam. In general, the mass size distribution of particulate matter was represented as a bimodal distribution. The maximum rations of S in July and December were 5.5 and 3.8 %, and they appeared in the size range of 0.47∼1.17㎛(stage No. 6 or 7) . The ratios of a S at non-separated size were 3.1 and 2.2 % in July and December, respectively, On the other hand, the maximum rations of Si in July and December were 7.0 and 5.4% and they appeared in the size range of 5.1∼30㎛(stage No. 0∼2). The ratios of Si at the non-separated size were 2.1 and 1.8% in July and December, respectively, The mass diameter of 12 elements ranged between 0.59㎛ of S and 3.20 of Fe. More than 90% of atmospheric aerosols consisted of the light elements such as C, N, O, H and Al. The soluble component was dominant in the smaller size range and the insoluble component in the larger size range. Large portions of Si. Ti and Fe existed in insoluble state. By contrast, S, Cl, Ca, Zn and Br were dissolved in water.
The porosity formation by the addition of additives was found to be the highest in the case of aluminum powder 3% and $Ca(OH)_2$ 2% under the condition that strength was maintained. The optimum mixing ratio of the binder was shown to be the most effective at (Ash+Food waste+clay):(water glass+colloidal silica) 7:3, and the temperature response is most economical and effective at $1,000^{\circ}C$. The optimal mixing ratio is the strength in 30% of ash, 30% of clay and 10% of food waste, which is the effective in non-point pollution water treatment. Filter media produced under optimal mixing conditions were analyzed as $SiO_2$ 65.8%, density $1.4g/cm^3$, porosity 25.6%, pH 9.8, and no hazardous substances were detected. As a result of the filtration of the water treatment, the mean concentration of the filtered SS was $14.06mg/{\ell}$, and the removal efficiency of SS was 90%, the recovery rate of the reversal is 97.1%. This enables the development of filter media considering economic efficiency and efficiency as well as the utilization of waste resources, enabling high value added of waste resources.
The survey and soil analysis were carried to research the problems on mulberry fields applied glutamic acid fermentation residue fertilizer (GAFRF). Mulberry farmers of 364 from 110 si or Gun were chosen at random. The results were as follows; 1. Application rate of three elements applied on mulberry field was 25.8-12.8-16 in non-FAFRF using farmers, whereas 9.8-4.5-5.5kg/10a in GAFRF using farmers. 2. Application rate of organic matter applied on mulberry was 1158kg in non-GAFRF using farmers, whereas 329kg/10a in GAFRF using farmers. 3. Farmers of 53% using FAFRF did not applied three elements, 74% of them organic matter and 50% of them both of three elements and organic matter. These figures increased proportionally with application period of GAFRF. 4. The content of organic matter, availeble P2O5, K, Ca, Mg and pH in soil of appling GAFRF farmers was somewhat lower than in soil of non-appling GAFRF farmers.

In this paper, the solidification behaviour and compressive strength of fly ash, cement, and waste stone powder were studied each separately and with addition of each in different proportions. And also, we assessed stabilizing ability of waste stone powder in cement which was added in fly ash. The particle size of waste stone powder was found smaller than the fly ash and cement particle sizes. Moreover, when mixing all(fly ash, cement, and waste stone powder) showed distinctive crystal structure, and improved stiffness. In case of mixing fly ash, cement and waste stone powder in different proportions, the compressive strength was exceeded to the predicted compressive strength of 10 kgf/cm$^2$. The XRD analysis showed high contents of CaO in fly ash and SiO$_2$ in case of waste stone powder sample. Heavy metal emission experiment showed the 3mg/L of Pb after 14 days of mixing 150 kg/m$^3$ of cement with the 80$\sim$100 kg/m$^3$ of waste stone powder, which is fulfilling the National Waste Management Policy.

This study is based on a coating method that provides utilization value as a micronised powder for cosmetic raw materials using natural minerals buried in Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do in Korea. The mineral powder name is called Buseok, and chemical name is pumice powder. The results of a study on the efficacy of cosmetics are reported by the development of particulate powder to assess the performance of this powder. First of all, in order to coat the surface of this powder with oil, aluminum hydroxide was coated on the particulate surface and then coated with alkylsilan. In addition, it was coated with vegetable oil to prevent condensation of the powder and increase the dispersion in the oil phase. First; the particle size of pumice powder was from 10 to 50mm having porous holes on the surface of the particles. Second; The components of this powder contained $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, MgO, CaO, $K_2O_2$, $Na_2O$, $TiO_2$, $TiO_2$, MnO, $Cr_2O_3$, $V_2O_5$. Third: The particles of this powder have a planetary structure and are reddish-brown with porosity through SEM and TEM analysis. Fourth; the far-infrared radiation rate of this parabolic powder was $0.924{\mu}m$, and the radiative energy was $3.72{\times}102W/m^2$ and ${\mu}m$. In addition, the anion emission is 128 ION/cc, which shows that the coating remains unchanged. Based on these results, it is expected to be widely applied to basic cosmetics such as BB cream, cushion foundation, powderfect, and other color-coordinated cosmetics, sunblock cream, wash-off massage pack as an application of cosmetics. To get the basic information for the improvement of the optimum levels of upland soil fertility and fertilizer application, the soil samples in two hundred fifteen site were collected from the major condiment vegetable cultivation areas such as red pepper, garlic and onion fields. Physico-chemical properties of the soil samples were investigated. Soil texture distribution of soil samples in red pepper, garlic and onion cultivation areas was in order of loam (L), sandy loam (SL), silt loam (SiL) and clay loam (CL) (35.4, 31.6, 14.9 and 7.0%, respectively). The average pH of soil in garlic and onion cultivation areas were over pH 6.0, whereas in red pepper was under pH 5.5. The frequency distribution of soil pH in total sampling sites were 58.7% in under pH 6.0 and 21.4% in below pH 5.0, in contrast to 10.3% in over pH 7.0. The organic matter contents were in the range of $20{\sim}30g\;kg^{-1}$, and the onion field soils was a little higher than those in red pepper or garlic. The available phosphate contents were in the range of $719{\sim}746mg\;kg^{-1}$ and were not different among in red pepper, garlic and onion. The frequency distribution of available phosphate in total sampling sites were found 62.8% of above $600mg\;kg^{-1}$, which was over the standard level for upland soil improvement, and then 22.3% was exceeded $1,000mg\;kg^{-1}$, especially. In the exchangeable cations, the K and Ca contents in garlic (1.27 and $9.11cmol\;kg^{-1}$) and onion (1.20 and $8.39cmol\;kg^{-1}$) were higher than in red pepper (0.96 and $5.87cmol\;kg^{-1}$), respectively. The Mg contents in garlic field soils ($2.17cmol\;kg^{-1}$) were higher than those in red pepper and onion (1.51 and $1.80cmol\;kg^{-1}$). This exchangeable K, Ca and Mg contents were higher than the standard level for upland soil improvement. The contents of microelement were ranged in $54.3{\sim}60.1mg\;kg^{-1}$ for Fe, $31.3{\sim}42.3mg\;kg^{-1}$ for Mn, $1.7{\sim}2.3mg\;kg^{-1}$ for Cu and $4.8{\sim}5.5mg\;kg^{-1}$ for Zn, respectively.
The objective of this study is to investigate the geochemical change of feldspar minerals by supercritical $CO_2$, which exists at $CO_2$ sequestration sites. High pressurized cell system (100 bar and $50^{\circ}C$) was designed to create supercritical $CO_2$ in the cell and the surface change and the dissolution of plagioclase and orthoclase were observed when the mineral surface reacted with supercritical $CO_2$ and water (or without water) for 30 days. The polished slab surface of feldspar was contacted with supercritical $CO_2$ and an artificial brine water (pH 8) in the experiments. The experiments for the reaction of feldspar with only supercritical $CO_2$ (without brine water) were also conducted. Results from the first experiment showed that the average roughness value of the plagioclase surface was 0.118 nm before the reaction, but it considerably increased to 2.493 nm after 30 days. For the orthoclase, the average roughness increased from 0.246 nm to 1.916 nm, suggesting that the dissolution of feldspar occurs in active when the feldspars contact with supercritical $CO_2$ and brine water at $CO_2$ sequestration site. The dissolution of $Ca^{2+}$ and $Na^+$ from the plagioclase occurred and a certain part of them precipitated inside of the high pressurized cell as the form of amorphous silicate mineral. For the orthoclase, $Al^{3+}$, $K^+$, and $Si^{+4}$ were dissolved in order and the kaolinite was precipitated. In the experiments without water, the change of the average roughness value and the dissolution of feldspar scarcely occurred, suggesting that the geochemical reaction of feldspars contacted with supercritical $CO_2$ at the environment without the brine water is not active.
This study has been designed to elucidate the petrography and geochemical characteristics of the volcanic rocks and focused on petrogenesis and tectonic environment of the Bokyeongsa volcanics in the northeast Gyeongsang Basin. The Bokyeongsa volcanics consist of the Naeyeonsan tuff which include rock fragment plagioclase, quartz and hornblende and pumice showing welded structures, and felsite. According to the petrochemical data, the Naeyeonsan tuff and felsite are in the range of 68${\sim}$71wt% and 77wt% SiO$_2$ content respectively. The Naeyeonsan tuff belongs to dacite/rhyodacite, and felsite to rhyolite. These volcanics rocks belong to the calc-alkaline rock series on the TAS diagram and the AFM diagram. The variations of major elements of the volcanic rocks show that contene of TiO$_2$, Al$_2$ O$_3$, FeO$^T$, MnO, MgO, CaO are inversely proportional to those of SiO$_2$, but contents of K$_2$O are positively. They represent differentiation trend of calc-alkaline rocks series. In spider disgram of MORB-normalized trace element partterns, contents of K, Rb, Th and Ta are relatively high, but those of Nb, Zr, Hf, Ti, Y and Yb are nearly similar to MORB. In the chondrite-normalized REE patterns, light REEs are more enriched than heavy REEs. The trace element composition and REE patterns suggest that they are typical island-arc calc-akaline volcanic rocks formed in the tectonomagmatic environment of subduction zone under continental margin.
The effects of sintering temperature and sintering atmosphere on magnetic properties and microstructuresof Mn-Zn ferrites have been studied. Mixture of 52.8mole% $Fe_2O_3$, 26.4mole% MnO, 15.1mole0% ZnO and 5.7mole% NiO was prepared, and 0.1mole% CaO, 0.02mole% $SiO_2$ were added as minor additives. After calcining and ball milling the powder was granulated for compacting. The specimens were sintered at $1, 250^{\circ}$, $1, 300^{\circ}$and 1, 35$0^{\circ}C$ in the various atmosphere of $N_2$, $N^_2\DIV0.6% O_2$, $N_2+2.7% O_2$, $N_2+4.1% O_2$, $N^2+8.2% O_2$ and air for 3 hours and cooled in $N_2$ atmosphere. The grian growth rate and densities increase as sintering temperature and oxygen content of atmosphere increase. At the sintering temperature of $1, 250^{\circ}C$ the initial permeabilities increase as oxygen content of atmosphere increase. At the sintering temperature of$ 1, 300^{\circ}$and $1, 350^{\circ}$ the initial permeabilities show maximum values at $N_2+4.1% O_2$ atmosphere. The secondary peaks of initial permeabilities are observed between 100$^{\circ}$and 20$0^{\circ}C$, and the positions of secondary peaks move to higher temperature as oxygen content of atmosphere increases. Q-factors decrease as sintering temperature increases and oxygen content of atmosphere decreases.
