Objective This study was conducted to gather basic information of 3D CT in detecting and gaining information of esophageal foreign body (FB) models. Materials and Methods The chest model was made using PVC bottle, rubber balloon and plaster. Fish bone, Persimmon stone were used to mimic foreign bodies of esophageal model. The foreign body models were inserted into the balloon removing air from it and the balloon was sealed. The esophageal FB model was inserted into the chest model. The remaining space in the chest model was filled with fish paste and water to simulate soft tissue around esophagus. CT of chest model was reconstructed three-dimensionally by Rapidia software to make images of foreign body models. The axial CT, MPR image and VOI image were compared with real foreign body materials as to shape, size, location and orientation. Results Esophageal FB models were easily made. CT data gave good 3D images and showed realistic foreign body materials. Conclusion The results indicate the usefulness of 3D CT technique to help in diagnosis of esophageal foreign body models.

The researches on the concept of justice and utilization for Computational Thinking with SW education are being actively discussed. However, a program has developed in conjunction with the actual elementary curriculum is not much. In this study, we have developed an educational program in applied mathematics based on CT. First, a separated view for a CT Application of mathematical concepts and objectives are set in three different application models. In order to achieve the CT-based math lessons, we also have developed a teaching and learning materials. We applied the developed materials in class, and to evaluate the satisfaction of learners. In addition to the validation of school application, we conducted a survey of professionals and teachers. The results of the analysis, the data showed that are helpful in the development of the student' CT ability as well as the ability to be helpful teaching and learning in school.
We tried to build human models based on medical images of live Korean, instead of using standard data of human body structures. Characteristics of mechanical structures of human bodies were obtained from medical images such as CT and MR images. For each constitutional part of mechanical structures CT images were analyzed in terms of gray levels and MR images were analyzed in terms of pulse sequence. Characteristic features of various mechanical structures were extracted from the analyses. Based on the characteristics of each structuring element we peformed image segmentation on CT and MR images. We delineated bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons from CT and MR images using image segmentation or manual drawing. For the image segmentation we compared the edge detection method, region growing method and intensity threshold method and applied an optimal compound of these methods for the best segmentation results. Segmented mechanical structures of the head/neck part were three dimensionally reconstructed.

In this study, we conduct SW education using robot in elementary school, to examine the effects of SW education using robot and identify differences dependeing on the presence of assistance teacher. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, SW education using robot was conducted to 29 students. After collecting data, we examined mean difference using matched pair t-test and ANCOVA. Our results show that SW education using robot significantly improved CT and attitudes toward robots. CT, however, was not significantly improved in control group. Further, although improvement in attitudes toward robots was not associated with presence of assistance teacher, presence of assistance teacher did play a role in improvement of CT. This study was investigated effects of the SW education using robot and identify differences depending on the presence of assistant teacher, and expanded the understanding of the SW education using robot.
Three-dimensional imaging and manipulation of CT data are becoming increasingly important for deterRing the complex structure and pathologies. Octree which is a hierarchical data model is used to reconstruct three- dimensional objects from CT scans. Orthogonal cross sections are displayed by traverse the octree partially. Arbitrary oblique planes are derived by intersecting the square region of plane and cubic volume of octal node. Thia method enables the display of multi-structured complex organ ann the realization by personal computer.

In recent years, it is important to visualize an accurate human body model for the low-end system in the medical imaging field where augmented reality technology and virtual reality technology are used. Decreasing the geometry of a model causes a difference from the original shape and considers the difference as an error. So, the error should be minimized while reducing geometry. In this study, the organ areas of a human body in the tomographic images such as CT or MRI is segmented and 3D geometric model is generated, thereby implementing the reconstruction method of multiple resolution level-of-detail model. In the experiment, a virtual reality platform was constructed to verify the shape of the reconstructed model, targeting the spine area. The 3D human body model and patient information can be verified using the virtual reality platform.
This study analyzes the spatio-temporal variability of terrestrial carbon flux and the response of land carbon sink with climate factors to improve of understanding of the variability of land-atmosphere carbon exchanges accurately. The coupled carbon-climate models of CMIP5 (the fifth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project) and CT (CarbonTracker) are used. The CMIP5 multi-model ensemble mean overestimated the NEP (Net Ecosystem Production) compares to CT and GCP (Global Carbon Project) estimates over the period 2001~2012. Variation of NEP in the CMIP5 ensemble mean is similar to CT, but a couple of models which have fire module without nitrogen cycle module strongly simulate carbon sink in the Africa, Southeast Asia, South America, and some areas of the United States. Result in comparison with climate factor, the NEP is highly affected by temperature and solar radiation in both of CT and CMIP5. Partial correlation between temperature and NEP indicates that the temperature is affecting NEP positively at higher than mid-latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere, but opposite correlation represents at other latitudes in CT and most CMIP5 models. The CMIP5 models except for few models show positive correlation with precipitation at $30^{\circ}N{\sim}90^{\circ}N$, but higher percentage of negative correlation represented at $60^{\circ}S{\sim}30^{\circ}N$ compare to CT. For each season, the correlation between temperature (solar radiation) and NEP in the CMIP5 ensemble mean is similar to that of CT, but overestimated.

Transportation or structure has the important role at clothing, food, and housing at modern society. If even the small crack happens and propagates at transportation or structure, the parts are fractured and they can cause a disaster. CT specimen was used in order to investigate the damage trend due to the crack propagation at this study to prevent this situation. As the material of CT specimen, the unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced plastic of the composite material in the limelight nowadays. The laminate angle designated in order of [60/-60/60/-60] was applied to the specimen model with the unidirectional fiber. As the analysis condition, the forced displacement was applied to the hole of upper part after fixing the hole of lower part. At the result of this study, the equivalent stress and shear stress was shown to be higher in order of the structural steel, copper, titanium and aluminum. This study result is thought to be utilized usefully at verifying the damage of CT specimen made of inhomogeneous material.
