시판(市販) 아이스크림의 품질(品質)에 대(對)한 조사연구(調査硏究) (A Quality Survey of Packaged Ice Creams in Seoul Area)

  • 서울 시내에서 제조판매되고 있는 caron, cone 및 bar형 아이스크림에 대하여 몇가지 화학성분 및 미생물학적 시험을 실시한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. Carton, cone 및 bar형 아이스크림중의 지방의 평균함량은 각각 6.82%, 6.42% 및 4.94%였다. 2. Carton, cone 및 bar 형 아이스크림중의 총고형분의 평균함량은 각각 33.45%, 34.22% 및 29.46%였다. 3. Carton, cone 및 bar형 아이스크림중의 총단백질의 평균함량은 3.45%, 3.16% 및 2.42%였다. 4. Carton, cone 및 bar형 아이스크림중의 무지유고형분(無脂乳固形分)의 평균함량은 각각 10.46%, 8.52% 및 7.72%였다. 5. Carton, cone 및 bar형 아이스크림중의 유당의 평균함량은 각각 6.42%, 5.57% 및 4.94%였다. 6. Carton, cone 및 bar 형 아이스크림중의 조회분의 평균함량은 각각 0.86%, 0.78% 및 0.67%였다. 7. Carton, cone 및 bar 형 아이스크림중의 Reichert-Meissl value 의 평균값은 각각 28.82, 27.85 및 25.97이였다. 8. 총균수, 대장균군은 아이스크림의 포장형태에 따라 다르며 총균수는 cone, carton, bar형의 순서로 많고 160개의 전시료중 ml당 40,000이상인것은 6개였으며, 대장균군도 bar형이 가장 많고 carton 및 bar형은 거의 전부가 ml당 10이하이며 전시료중 ml당 10이상인 것은 14개였다.

성공에 미치는 메이크업의 영향력 및 메이크업에 대한 사용자의 인식 (Perception about Makeup Influence on Man's Makeup and Their Success)

  • 본 연구는 서울, 인천, 광주시에 거주하는 10~40대 남성 240명을 대상으로 남성 메이크업에 대한 7가지 항목별 인식차이를 조사하여, 남성들이 선호하는 메이크업 항목과 남성 메이크업 사용자들에 대한 인식 및 성공에 미치는 외모 영향력과의 관계를 분석하여 남성 뷰티시장 활성화 및 상품개발의 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 그 결과 대부분의 남성들은 사회적 성공에 외모가 미치는 영향력이 매우 크다고 생각하였으며, 특히 자신들의 성공에 외모가 50%이상 영향을 미친다고 생각하는 응답자가 전체 23.3%를 차지하였다. 가장 선호하는 메이크업 항목은 컨실러, 컬러로션, 비비크림으로 전체 응답자 중 60.8%가 긍정적으로 생각하는 것으로 나타나 기초색조 화장품은 이미 남성들의 필수 제품 중의 하나로 자리매김함을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 상대적으로 사용량이 적은 마스카라, 아이라이너, 아이쉐도우 항목에서는 다소 부정적인 인식을 보였고, 전반적으로 연령이 낮을수록, 미혼인 경우, 도시거주자인 경우가 대체적으로 긍정적인 인식을 나타내었다. 이상의 자료를 토대로 성공을 지향하는 남성 소비자들을 위한 다양한 메이크업 상품 개발과 마케팅 전략을 실행한다면 남성 뷰티 시장 활성화에 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

비 마약성 진통제 DA-5018의 급성독성시험 (Acute Toxicity Study of DA-5018, A Non-narcotic Analgesic Agent)

  • Intravenous and oral acute toxicity tests in ICR mice and SD rats and percutaneous acute toxicity tests in SD rats and NZW rabbits were conducted to evaluate the toxicity of DA-5018 and DA-5018 cream, respectively Clinical signs observed in mice and rats after the administration of DA-5018 were similar regardless of administration route. The observed clinical signs were jumping, wild running, lacrimation, ataxia, reddening of extremities and ears, ventral or lateral recumbency, respiratory distress, cyanosis, convulsion and death. Pulmonary enlargement and hemorrhage were observed in the animals died immediately after the dosing of DA-5018. At terminal necropsy, pulmonary enlargement and hemorrhage, corneal opacity and focal scabbing and depilation around nose were seen. LD$_{50}$ Values of DA-5018 are 11.5 mg/kg (mice, male), 12.6 mg/kg (mice, female), 88.3 mg/kg (rat, male) and 73.2 mg/kg (rat, female) in oral toxicity tests and 11.0 mg/kg (mice, male), 18.7 mg/kg (mice, female), 0.12 mg/kg (rat, male) and 0.32 mg/kg (rat, female) in i.v. toxicity tests. In the percutaneous acute toxicity tests of DA-5018 cream, no deaths occured in all the tested groups during 14-day observation period. There were also no abnormalities in the general conditions, body weight changes and on necropsy findings in all groups. LD$_{50}$ values of 0.1 ~0.9% DA-5018 creams in male and female rats and rabbits are >2000 mg/kg./kg.

소풍산을 첨가한 크림의 안정성 및 물성 변화 (Stability and Rheology of Cream Containing Sopoongsan)

  • Sopoongsan is an oriental medicinal composition including 12 medicinal herbs. Sopoongsan is known to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-allergic, and anticancer effects on human skin. The results of stability test showed that the creams containing Sopoongsan extracts were very stable at both accelerated temperature conditions and sun-light. And pH and viscosity of each cream did not change greatly for 56 days. From the particle size and rheological measurements, it can be known that when the amount of the Sopoongsan extracts increases, the mean value of particle size decreases, and the value of the complex modulus and loss angle increases, which means the Sopoongsan extracts help stabilize the emulsion. From the result of human patch test to assess the safety of cream containing Sopoongsan extracts, there was no stimulus of negative reaction on skin. In result of the user tests, it can be known that the higher concentration of the Sopoongsan was preferred by customers.

  • Oceanic conditions of the Tsushirm Wann Current (1WC) region in the southern area if the East Sea (the Japan Sea) are examined using data obtained from a CREAMS (Circulation Research if the East Asian Marginal Seas) cruise in June 1996. In 1990s, a lower temperature appears in $19\%$ and in this period, two branch of the TWC exist and the first branch of the TWC flows inshore if the Japanese coastal region compared to tfr1t in the other years, especially in the sfr1llower water layer at less th:1n about 2mm. The TWC cored with the higher salinity (>34.6 psu) is clearly observed over the continental shelf zone in the Japanese coastal region and offshore and identified by geostrophic calculation Intrusion if the TWC into the East Sea through the Korea Strait (the Tsushima Strait) makes the density structure in the water column change and the water mass in the TWC region is unstable based on Brunt- Vaisala frequency.

담수호 유입 오염부하량의 간척농지 영농 전.후 변화 예측 (Prediction of the Pollutant Loading into Estuary Lake according to Non-cultivation and Cultivation conditions of Reclaimed Tidal Land)

  • Estimation of current and future loading from watershed is necessary for the sound management of water quality of an estuary lake. Pollution sources of point and non-point source pollution were surveyed and Identified for the Koheung watershed. Unit factor method was used to estimate potential pollutant load from the watershed of current conditions. Flow rate and water qualify of base flow and storm-runoff were monitored in the main streams of the watershed. Estimation of runoff pollutant loading from the watershed into the lake in current conditions was conducted by GWLF model after calibration using observed data. Prospective pollutant loading from the reclaimed paddy fields under cultivation conditions was estimated using the modified CREAMS model. As a result, changes of pollutant loading into estuary lake according to non-cultivation and cultivation conditions of reclaimed tidal land were estimated.

동해 아극전선 해역의 수중음향환경 및 저주파 음파전달 양상 (Underwater Acoustic Environment and Low Frequency Acoustic Transmission in the Sub-Polar Front Region of the East Sea)

  • To investigate low frequency acoustic transmissions in the Sub-Polar Front(SPF) of the East Sea, numerical experiments are conducted with Range dependent Acoustic Model(RAM) using Circulation Research of the East Asian Marginal Seas(CREAMS) data and Autonomous Profiling Explorer(APEX)) data. Significant seasonal variations of sea water properties are existed across the Sub-Polar Front(SPF) region from the north and the south. The model results show that Transmission Loss(TL) decrease(about 20dB) with ideal front in the warm region whereas TL increase(about 25dB) with ideal front in the cold region. Regardless of season(both in summer and winter), when the sound source is located in the cold region of the SPF, the model results show weak TL, compared to the case of the source in the warm region(Maximum difference of TL reaches 28dB). This difference between the cases when the source is located in the cold region and the warm region, is accounted for from the different vertical profiles of sound speed in both regions.

  • 구리이온(II)과 티오글리콜산의 착물인 CuRS를 HMDE(Hanging Mercury Drop Electrode)에 흡착시켜 음극으로 주사하는 흡착벗김 전압전류법으로 미량의 티오글리콜산을 정량하는 방법을 고찰하였다. 지지 전해질로는 pH 6.5 인산염 완충용액과 pH 9.5 붕산염 완충용액을 사용하였고, 최적 조건은 구리이온(II) 농도 $1{\times}10^{-4}M$, 흡착 축적 전위 -0.2V, 흡착 축적 시간 60초, 그리고 주사 속도 20mV/sec이다. 이 때 티오글리콜산의 검출 한계는 $1{\times}10^{-9}M$이다. 이 조건하에서 콜드 파마액과 제모제 속에 포함된 티오글리콜산의 함량을 구하였다.

Physical and Sensory Properties of Ice Cream Containing Fermented Pepper Powder

  • This study was conducted to investigate the physical and sensory properties of ice cream containing fermented pepper powder. Three ice cream formulas were manufactured: 1, control; 2, supplemented with 0.1% fermented pepper powder; and 3, supplemented with 0.2% fermented pepper powder. Formulas 2 and 3 had significantly higher viscosity and lower overrun than formula 1 (p<0.05). Additionally, ice creams supplemented with fermented pepper powder were harder and maintained their forms longer than the controls. 0.2% fermented pepper powder added ice cream had no pungency as much as that of control and overall sensory attribute was not significantly different from control. Therefore, ice cream containing fermented pepper powder maintained physical and sensory properties similar to the controls, and maintenance was better. It means fermented pepper powder ice cream can be utilized as the material of functional food (dessert).

동해 해류 및 환경 특성 연구 (EAST-I) (East Asian Seas Time-series I (EAST-I))

  • Many countries has been interested in studying the East Sea to look ahead into the world oceans' future, since the East Sea has been known as a miniature ocean. In this respect, PICES decided the East Asian Seas Time-series (EAST) studies, and the East Sea as the first subject (EAST-I). Since 2006 Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs, Korea has supported the Korean EAST-I program. Through the Korean EAST-I program, 44 research papers were published in various scientific journals. This special issue contains 6 research articles including results from the interdisciplinary observation in the summer, 2008. Those articles cover the entire East Sea from the Korea Strait to the Japan Basin, and also cover the studies of the euphotic layer to the bottom sediment. MLTM and KIMST have provided full support to EAST-I program. KHOA carried out the joint cruises in the Ulleung Basin. Those are deeply appreciated. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the editorial board of Ocean & Polar Research.
