  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies have introduced remote work. However, the introduction of remote work has increased attacks on companies to access sensitive information, and many companies have begun to use cloud services to respond to security threats. This study used LDA topic modeling techniques by collecting news data with the keyword 'cloud security' to analyze changes in domestic cloud security trends before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, interest in domestic cloud security was low, so representation or association could not be found in the extracted topics. However, it was analyzed that the introduction of cloud is necessary for high computing performance for AI, IoT, and blockchain, which are IT technologies that are currently being studied. On the other hand, looking at topics extracted after the COVID-19 pandemic, it was confirmed that interest in the cloud increased in Korea, and accordingly, interest in cloud security improved. Therefore, security measures should be established to prepare for the ever-increasing usage of cloud services.

  • The coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has changed physical activities due to social distancing to prevent the spread of infectious disease. The restriction could affect physical activities and serum lipid levels. The purpose of this study is to investigate changes of serum lipid levels and physical activities due to the social distancing between the pre-and-post COVID-19 pandemic on Jeju Island. A total of 5,373 subjects who underwent medical examination at a medical center located on Jeju Island. between May 2018 and December 2021 was enrolled. They were divided into two groups (the pre-COVID-19 vs. the post-COVID-19) based on their medical checkup dates and analyzed about clinical variables between them. Among the clinical variables, the mean age (P<0.014) and the mean levels of high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (P=0.001), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (P=0.039) and total-cholesterol (P<0.001) and the proportions of subjects with abdominal obesity (P<0.001), aerobic exercise (P=0.003) and physical activity (P=0.008) were significantly higher in the post-COVID pandemic than those in the pre-COVID-19 pandemic. Even though the proportions of subjects with physical activity and aerobic exercise were statistically greater in the post-COVID-19 pandemic, those with central obesity and dyslipidemia were significantly higher in the period than before on Jeju Island.

  • School closures during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have been outlined in studies from different disciplines, including economics, sociology, mathematical modeling, epidemiology, and public health. In this review, we discuss the implications of school closures in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Modeling studies of the effects of school closures, largely derived from the pandemic influenza model, on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 produced conflicting results. Earlier studies assessed the risk of school reopening by modeling transmission across schools and communities; however, it remains unclear whether the risk is due to increased transmission in adults or children. The empirical findings of the impact of school closures on COVID-19 outbreaks suggest no clear effect, likely because of heterogeneity in community infection pressure, differences in school closure strategies, or the use of multiple interventions. The benefits of school closings are unclear and not readily quantifiable; however, they must be weighed against the potential high social costs, which can also negatively affect the health of this generation.

  • This study aimed to identify demographic variables(gender, age group, occupation, living arrangement, economic level, respiratory and chronic diseases, previous medical history), COVID-19 variables(COVID-19 prevention behavior, frequent use of media to obtain COVID-19 information), and psychological behavioral variables(depression, anxiety, loneliness, and increased drinking). From February to March 2021, an online survey of adults was conducted, and a total of 1,434 data were used for analysis. 260 out of 1,434 people were confirmed to have suicide ideation, the prevalence of suicide ideation among adults during the COVID-19 was 18.1%. Logistic regression analyses indicated elevated odds of suicidal ideation among individuals in their 20s and 30s, those living alone, exhibiting fewer COVID-19 preventive behaviors, consuming COVID-19 information more frequently through media, and reporting higher levels of loneliness. Furthermore, within the group experiencing depression, anxiety, and increased drinking, greater levels of these factors correlated with higher odds of suicidal ideation. Based on the results, implications and significance of the study were discussed.

  • Humankind has experienced various changes in the pandemic of the Covid-19 for some months from the winter of 2019. The Church and Christians also have witnessed the changes and results of the pandemic in their Christian life and meetings such as worship, Bible study, prayer meeting, personal spiritual activities, and so on. Humans have encountered different kinds of pandemics throughout history. 1918-Influenza is an example, and the Pest(the Black Death) of the 14th century is another. What did the Christian Church do in the pandemics? This study focuses especially on the spiritual matters of each case and era. This study explores the well-known cases of pandemics in history and reflects on the Christian spiritual responses and its lessons. The three points this study raises are the life and attitude of the spiritual figures, the practice of silence, and the social aspect of the Christian spirituality in this time of the pandemic.
