PDMS-HNT과 PDMS-mHNT 복합막을 통한 CO2와 N2의 기체투과 (Gas Permeation of CO2 and N2 through PDMS-HNT and PDMS-mHNT Composite Membranes)

  • 본 연구에서는 PDMS에 halloysite nanotube (HNT)와 modified HNT (mHNT)를 첨가하여 PDMS-HNT 복합막과 PDMS-mHNT 복합막을 제조하였다. 그리고 물리 화학적 특성을 조사하기 위하여 FT-IR, XRD, TGA, SEM을 사용하였고, $N_2$$CO_2$ 기체에 대한 투과도와 선택도 성질을 고찰하였다. 특히, $35^{\circ}C$에서 PDMS-HNT 10 wt% 복합막과 PDMS-mHNT 5 wt% 복합막은 가장 높은 $CO_2/N_2$ 선택도와 $CO_2$ 투과도를 보였다. 전체적으로 PDMS-HNT 복합막과 PDMS-mHNT 복합막은 PDMS 막보다 $CO_2/N_2$ 선택도가 증가하였다.

  • The reaction mechanism of methane dry reforming has been investigated using an arc-jet reactor. The effects of input power, $CO_2/CH_4$ and added $O_2$ were investigated by product analysis, including CO, $H_2$, $C_{2}H_{Y}$ and $C_{3}H_{Y}$ as well as $CH_4$ and $CO_2$. In the process, input electrical power activated the reactions between $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ significantly. The increased feed ratio of the $CO_2$ to $CH_4$ in the dry reforming does not affect to the $CH_4$ conversion. but we could observe increase in CO selectivity together with decreasing $H_2$ generation. Added oxygen can also increase not only CO selectivity but also $CH_4$ conversion. However, hydrogen selectivity was decreased significantly due to a increased $H_{2}O$ formation.

  • Non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) gas sensors typically use an optical filter that transmits a discriminating 4.26 ㎛ wavelength band to measure carbon dioxide (CO2), as CO2 absorbs 4.26 ㎛ infrared. The filter performance depends on the transmittance and full width at half maximum (FWHM). This paper presents the fabrication, sensitivity, and selectivity characteristics of a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR)-based Fabry-Perot filter with a simple structure for CO2 detection. Each Ge and SiO2 films were prepared using the RF magnetron sputtering technique. The transmittance characteristics were measured using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The fabricated filter had a peak transmittance of 59.1% at 4.26 ㎛ and a FWHM of 158 nm. In addition, sensitivity and selectivity experiments were conducted by mounting the sapphire substrate and the fabricated filter on an NDIR CO2 sensor measurement system. When measuring the sensitivity, the concentration of CO2 was observed in the range of 0-10000 ppm, and the selectivity was measured for environmental gases of 1000 ppm. The fabricated filter showed lower sensitivity to CO2 but showed higher selectivity with other gases.

제올라이트 및 알칼리금속을 이용한 실내용 저농도 $CO_2$ 흡착제의 성능 평가 (Evaluation for adsorption of low concentration of indoor $CO_2$ adsorption using zeolite and alkali metal)

  • In this study, $CO_2$ adsorbent was produced for minimizing energy loss due to ventilation within the building. For improved selectivity about low concentration of $CO_2$ in multiple-use facilities, the ball type adsorbent was modified from a commercial zeolite, alumina, alkali metals and activated carbon with mixing LiOH, binder, and $H_2O$. We measured specific surface area, pore characteristic, and crystal structure of the modified adsorbent. Effects of alkalization on the absorptive properties of the adsorbents were investigated. Continuous column tests (2,000 ppm) and batch chamber tests ($4m^3$, 5,000ppm) showed that the modified adsorbent indicated about the selectivity of $CO_2$ more than 9.7% (0.613 mmol/g) compared with ordinary adsorbents and $CO_2$ removal efficiency of 88.8% within l hour, respectively. It was estimated that the modified adsorbent was applicable to indoor environments.

  • Syngas combustion characteristics of mass produced oxygen carrier particle (OCN706-1100) were investigated in a pressurized fluidized bed reactor using simulated syngas and air as reactants for reduction and oxidation, respectively. The oxygen carrier showed high fuel conversion, high $CO_2$ selectivity, and low CO concentration at reduction conditions and no NO emission at oxidation conditions. Moreover, OCN706-1100 particle showed good regeneration ability during successive reduction-oxidation cyclic tests up to the 10th cycle. Fuel conversion and $CO_2$ selectivity decreased and CO emission increased as temperature increased. These results can be explained by trend of calculated equilibrium CO concentration with temperature. However, fuel conversion and $CO_2$ selectivity increased and CO emission decreased as pressure and gas residence time increased.

  • 본 연구에서는 PEBAX에 GO과 ZIF-8@GO의 함량을 달리하여 PEBAX/GO-PEI 복합막과 PEBAX/ZIF-8@GO-PEI 복합막을 제조하고, N2와 CO2의 투과 특성을 연구하였다. 전체적으로 PEBAX/GO-PEI 복합막의 N2와 CO2 투과도는 GO 함량이 증가할수록 감소하였고, CO2/N2 선택도는 약간 증가하였다. PEBAX/ZIF-8@GO-PEI 복합막에서도 N2의 투과도는 감소하였으나 CO2는 ZIF-8@GO 1 wt%까지 증가하였고, 그 이후의 함량에서는 감소하였다. CO2/N2 선택도는 ZIF-8@GO 1 wt%에서 92.3으로 가장 높은 선택도를 보였는데 이는 PEBAX와의 호환성을 향상시켜 고르게 분산되면서 다공성의 ZIF-8의 효과와 함께 CO2에 친화성이 좋은 GO, ZIF-8의 효과를 가장 크게 받았기 때문으로 생각된다. 또한 PEBAX/ZIF-8@GO-PEI 복합막은 ZIF-8@GO 5 wt%를 제외하고 PEBAX-PEI와 PEBAX/GO-PEI 복합막보다 CO2 투과도와 CO2/N2 선택도가 모두 향상되면서 Robeson upper bound에 근접하는 결과를 얻었다.

  • 이온교환은 이온성 물질을 제거하는 가장 신뢰성 있는 단위공정일 뿐만 아니라 재사용의 측면에서 매우 경제적이다. 특히 이온교환은 토양화학 분야에서 지난 한 세기 동한 수많은 연구가 진행되어 왔으며, 여러 가지 수처리 공정에 널리 이용되고 있다. 이온의 선택도는 이온의 수화반경과 용액의 농도, 이온의 원자가에 따라 좌우된다. 본 연구는 양이온 평형실험과 칼럼실험을 통해 이온들의 선택도 순서와 바탕음이온에 따른 특성을 조사하였다. 양이온의 선택성은 농도가 낮을수록, 이온의 원자가가 높을수록 증가하였다. 평형실험의 양이온 선택도 순서는 $H^+$ < $K^+$ << $Cu^{2+}$ < $Co^{2+}$ < TEX>$Ca^{2+}$ << $Ce^{3+}$ 이며, 칼럼흡착에서도 선택도 순서는 동일하였다.

활성탄소섬유상에서 CH4/CO2 혼합가스의 흡착 특성 (Adsorption Characteristics of $CH_4/CO_2$ Mixed Gases on Activated Carbon Fibers)

  • An adsorption process to recover the pure $CH_4\;and\;CO_2$ from its mixture was examined. In this study, activated carbon fibers were used as a selective adsorbent. The activated carbon fibers has 78~94% micropore volume and 10.5~20.3${\AA}$ narrow pore size, and showed high adsorption rate and the good selectivity for $CO_2$ under the ambient pressure. The ACF with high surface area showed short mass transfer zone and long breakthrough time and, its adsorption capacity depended on the microporosity. Compared with single component adsorption, the amount adsorbed $CO_2$ on ACF increased by the roll-up of $CH_4$ in mixed gases. The adsorption selectivity increased as now rate and $CO_2$ concentration of mixed gases increased, showing 5.2 selectivity for 75% $CO_2$ concentration.

감지 패턴 인식에 의한 가스센서의 선택성 연구 (A Study on the Selectivity of Gas Sensors by Sensing Pattern Recognition)

  • We report on the building of a micro sensor array based on typical semiconductor fabrication processes aimed at monitoring selectively a specific gas in ambient of other gases. Chemical sensors can be applied for an electronic nose and/or robots using this technique. Microsensor array was fabricated on the same chip using 0.6${\mu}m$ CMOS technology, and unique gas sensing patterns were obtained by principal component analysis from the array. $SnO_2$/Pt sensor for CO gas showed a high selectivity to buthane gas and humidity. $SnO_2$ sensor for hydrogen gas, however, showed a low selectivity to CO and buthane gas. We can obtain more distinguishable patterns that provide the small sensing deviation(the high seletivity) toward a given analyte in the response space than in the chemical space through the specific parameterization of raw data for chemical image formation.
