  • 배터리 에너지 저장시스템(Battery Energy Storage System, BESS)용 Power Conditioning System(PCS)은 양방향 순시 정격 출력이 가능하여 계통연계 및 독립운전을 수행할 수 있으며, 신재생에너지 연계시 그 효용을 증대시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 산업용 수용가를 위한 ESS용 PCS 제어기 개발 및 실증 내용을 소개한다. 독립적 운전이 가능한 4개의 250kW PCS로 이루어진 1MW PCS는 Battery Management System(BMS)의 상태를 수신하여 운전가능여부를 판단하며, Energy Management System(EMS)의 지령으로 전력차액거래, 피크전력저감, 수요반응, 무효전력제어 등의 기능을 수행할 수 있다. 또한 원격지의 계통전압, 출력전류 등을 실시간으로 수신할 수 있는 모듈을 사용하여 비상전원 기능 및 신재생에너지 출력 단기 보상 기능을 수행할 수 있다.

  • 무선 급전 경전철 차량은 차량이 역에 도착하였을 때 단시간에 배터리에 에너지 충전을 요구함에 따라 1MW이상의 순간 전력을 공급하는 시스템을 요구하게 된다. 때문에 대용량 파워에 따라 손실의 따른 발열량이 커지게 된다. 때문에 높은 효율을 갖는 제어 방식을 선택하는 것이 불가피하게 된다. 이러한 이유로 본 논문에서는 집전 정류기를 PLL을 통하여 스위칭 지점을 ZVS가 가능하도록 제어하고 또한 스위칭 OFF 손실을 줄이기 위하여 주파수를 4분주로 스위칭 하는 방식을 제한고 이를 실제 하드웨어를 통하여 제어 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 지구 온난화의 주요한 원인인 $CO_2$ 가스 저감을 위한 많은 연구가 현재 수행중이며, 하이드레이트 형성원리를 이용한 $CO_2$ 분리 및 회수에 대한 연구가 보고되고 있다. 하이드레이트 형성에 있어 결정성장 거동에 관한 연구는 $CO_2$ 하이드레이트 형성 메커니즘을 규명하는데 기초자료를 제공할 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 274.1K의 정온 조건에 서 반회분식 교반 반응기를 이용하여 1.7MPa에서 3.0MPa으로 압력 조건을 바꾸면서 $CO_2$ 하이드레이트를 형성시켰다. 실험에 공급된 기체의 조성은 $CO_2$ (99.999%)이다. 실험 관측은 광학현미경(Nikon, SMZ 1000)에 장착된 CCD카메라(Nikon DS-5M/Fi1/2M-U2)에 의하여 이루어 졌다. 하이드레이트 형성 및 해리 과정을 CCD카메라로 촬영하고 시간에 따른 온도와 압력의 변화를 기록하여 핵생성 시간, 성장 속도, 성장 거동을 관찰하였다. 실험에 적용되는 압력에 따라서 하이드레이트 성장형태와 성장속도에서 매우 큰 차이를 보이는 것을 확인하였다.

Experimental Study on Dilution Effect of Exhaust Gas in SNG Combustion on a Model Gas Turbine (가스터빈에서 SNG 연료 조성에 대한 희석제의 배기배출물 저감효과에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper describes experimental results about emission and NOx reduction of dilution effect (Nitrogen and carbon dioxide) about various fuel compositions of synthetic natural gas (SNG). Combustion experiment was performed to investigate the combustion characteristics for SNG with various hydrogen ratio in SNG, heat input and equivalence ratio in a partially premixed model gas turbine combustor. NOx emission was similar to each hydrogen ratio and flame characteristics was investigated from OH chemiluminescence images. There was a singularity of CO emission in stoichiometric condition and it can be identified using OH chemiluminescence intensity. In addition, dilution effect was studied in using nitrogen and carbon dioxide as diluent to reduce the NOx emission. Carbon dioxide diluent was more effective to NOx reduction than nitrogen diluent because of its high diluent specific heat and its heat capacity.

Prediction of Pollutant Emissions from Lean Premixed Gas Turbine Combustor Using Chemical Reactor Network (화학반응기 네트워크을 이용한 희박 예혼합 가스터빈 연소기에서의 오염물질 예측에 관한 연구)

  • A chemical reactor network (CRN) was developed for a lean premixed gas turbine combustor to predict the emission of pollutants such as NOx and CO. In this study, the predictions of NOx and CO emissions from lean premixed methane-air combustion in the gas turbine were carried out using CHEMKIN and a GRI 3.0 methane-air combustion mechanism, which includes the four NO formation mechanisms for various load conditions. The calculated results were compared with experimental data obtained from a modified test combustor to validate the model. The contributions of the four NO pathways were investigated for various load conditions. The effects of nonuniformity of the mass flux and of the equivalence ratio of the injector on the NOx formation were investigated, and a method of reducing the pollutant formation was suggested for the development of a sub-10 ppm gas turbine combustor.

  • The idea of $CO_2$ sequestration in the ocean is proposed to be an effective mitigation strategy to counteract potential global warming due to the greenhouse effect Therefore, in the present study, calculations of the dissolution behavior of $CO_2$ hydrate when liquid carbon dioxide is released at 1,000m and 1,500m in depth are performed. The results show the liquid $CO_2$ injected in the ocean becomes $CO_2$ bubble at between 350m and 500m in depth, and the injection from a moving ship is a more effective method of dissolution than through a fixed pipeline. It so also noted that the ultimate plume generated from $CO_2$ bubbles repeats expansion and shrinking due to the peel ins from a fixed pipeline.

A harmonic reduction scheme for 12-pulse diode rectifiers by auxiliary voltage supply (보조전원장치에 의한 12-펄스정류기의 고조파 저감)

  • Diode rectifiers have been widely used for an AC to DC converter. But a big problem is that they include large harmonics components in the input currents. A 12-pulse configuration with phase shifting transformer is useful for reducing them. however, it still includes the ($12{\pm}1$)th (m; integer) harmonics in the input currents. In this paper, we propose a single-phase square wave auxiliary voltage supply which is inserted in the middle DC bus. It reduces harmonics especially the 11th and 13th and the harmonic characteristic becomes almost equivalent to a 24-pulse rectifier. Theoretical analysis of the combined 12-pulse diode rectifier with the auxiliary supply is presented and a control method of the auxiliary supply is proposed. The reduction in the input current harmonics is verified by simulation using software PSIM.

  • In this study, many researches have been carried out against Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator(EEOI) of existing ships under discussion by IMO. This research is examined the method for the polices about IMO's greenhouse gas reducing emissions among them, we were analyzed the EEOI for existing ships. we have analyzed the result about applying EEOI using the calculation method of the rate of fuel consumption for cargo quantities to the actual existing ships and raised the problem. Based on this research, we were presented the improved EEOI about the engine load using fuel consumption and applied the existing ships. As a result, we concluded that the improved EEOI can define a resonable rate of $CO_2$ emissions.

  • Pellets are manufactured using wood by-products. The combustion efficiency of pellets depends on the pellet manufacturing process, the types of materials mixed while manufacturing and the wood pellet stoves themselves. In this study, we developed a multi-layer combustor to be used in a wood pellet stove, for the purpose of reducing environmental pollution and energy waste due to incomplete combustion. The multi-layer combustor was designed to compensate for the shortcomings of existing combustors. A CAD (Computer Aided Design) model was verified using a 3D printer and a prototype was developed. The combustion experiments were conducted on commercial and proposed combustors using pellets of the same brand, manufacturing date, place and specifications. From the experiments, it was found that the proposed combustor produced the lowest carbon monoxide (CO) emission and highest thermal efficiency.
