Purpose : Kabuki syndrome is a multiple congenital malformation syndrome with mental retardation. It was named after its characteristic appearance, a face resembling that of an actor in a Kabuki play. To date, six Korean cases of Kabuki syndrome have ever been reported. Here, we present the phenotypic and genetic characteristics of six patients with Kabuki syndrome. Materials and Methods : Between 2003 and 2009, six Korean girls have been diagnosed and followed up as Kabuki syndrome at Center for Genetic Diseases of Ajou University Hospital. Their clinical and laboratory data were collected and analyzed by the retrospective review of medical records. Results : All six patients showed the characteristic facial dysmorphism and developmental delay. Persistent fingertip pads were also found in all patients. Most patients showed postnatal growth retardation (83.3%) and hypotonia (83.3%). Opthalmologic problems were common, particularly for strabismus (83.3%). Congenital heart defects were present in three patients (50%). Skeletal abnormalities including 5th finger shortening (83.3%), clinodactyly (50%), joint hypermobility (50%) and hip dislocation (16.7%) were also observed. There was no patient who had positive family history for Kabuki syndrome. Cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic analyses including karyotyping and array CGH could not reveal any underlying genetic cause of Kabuki syndrome. Conclusion : Korean patients with Kabuki syndrome showed a broad spectrum of clinical features affecting multiple organ systems. Although clinical manifestations of Kabuki syndrome have been well established, our results failed to detect recurrent chromosome aberrations which could cause Kabuki syndrome. Its natural history and genetic background remains to be further studied for providing appropriate management and genetic counseling.

As 5G is getting developed, people are getting interested in immersive content. Some predicts that immersive content may be implemented in real life such as holograms, which were only possible in movies. Holograms, which has been studied for a long time since Dennis Gabor published the basic theory in 1948, are constantly developing in a new direction with digital technology. It is developing from a traditional optical hologram, which is produced by recording the interference pattern of light to a computer generated hologram (CGH) and a digital hologram printer. In order to produce a hologram using a digital hologram printer, holographic element (Hogel) image must first be created using multi-view images. There are a method of directly photographing an actual image and a method of modeling an object using 3D graphic production tool and rendering the motion of a virtual camera to acquire a series of multi-view images. In this paper, we propose a new method of getting image, which is one of the visual effect, VFX, producing multi-view images using chroma key composition. We shoot on the green screen of actual object, suggest the overall workflow of composition with 3D computer graphic(CG) and explain the role of each step. We expected that it will be helpful in researching a new method of image acquisition in the future if all or part of the proposed workflow to be applied.
The purpose of this paper is to propose a service system for a digital hologram video, which has not been published yet. This system assumes the existing service framework for 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional image/video, which includes data acquisition, processing, transmission, reception, and reconstruction. This system includes acquisition of color and depth image pairs from a image acquisition system with vertical rigs, rectification of acquired image pairs and generating digital hologram. Also it is designed to reduce the CGH (computer-generated hologram) generation time to 1/3. It also includes some additional and optional functions such as watermarking, compression, and encryption.

Most neuroblastoma cells have chromosomal aberrations such as gains, losses, amplifications and deletions of DNA. Conventional approaches like fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) or metaphase comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) can detect chromosomal aberrations, but their resolution is low. In this study we used array-based comparative genomic hybridization to identify the chromosomal aberrations in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. The DNA microarray consisting of 4000 bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones was able to detect chromosomal regions with aberrations. The SH-SY5Y cells showed chromosomal gains in 1q12~ q44 (Chr1:142188905-246084832), 7 (over the whole chro-mosome), 2p25.3~p16.3 (Chr2:18179-47899074), and 17q 21.32~q25.3 (Chr17:42153031-78607159), while chromosomal losses detected were the distal deletion of 1p36.33 (Chr1:552910-563807), 14q21.1~q21.3 (Chr14:37666271-47282550), and 22q13.1~q13.2 (Chr22:36885764-4190 7123). Except for the gain in 17q21 and the loss in 1p36, the other regions of gain or loss in SH-SY5Y cells were newly identified.

In this paper, we propose a new system which captures real depth and color information from natural scene and implemented it. Based on it, we produced stereo and multiview images for 3-dimensional stereoscopic contents and introduced the production of a digital hologram which is considered to the next-generation image. The system consists of both a camera system for capturing images which correspond to RGB and depth images and softwares (SWs) for various image processings which consist of pre-processing such as rectification and calibration, 3D warping, and computer generated hologram (CGH). The camera system use a vertical rig with two paris of depth and RGB camera and a specially manufactured cold mirror which has the different transmittance according to wavelength for obtaining images with the same view point. The wavelength of our mirror is about 850nm. Each algorithm was implemented using C and C++ and the implemented system can be operated in real-time.

We propose an efficient coding method of digital holograms using MCTF and standard compression tools for video. The hologram is generated by a computer-generated hologram (CGH) algorithm with both an object image and its depth information. The proposed coding consists of localization by segmenting a hologram, frequency transform using $64\times64$ segment size, 2-D discrete cosine transform DCT for extracting redundancy, motion compensated temporal filtering (MCTF), segment scanning the segmented hologram to form a video sequence, and video coding, which uses H.264/AVC. The proposed algorithm illustrates that it has better properties for reconstruction, 10% higher compression rate than previous research in case of object.

In this paper, an coherent optical correlator system based on the off-axis projection synthetic discriminant funtion (OA-pSDF) was analyzed and implemented optically. The filter was synthesized by combining conventional pSDF with single reference plane wave multiplexing. Synthesized pSDF were transformed to binary phase only filters (BPOFs) and fabricated as computer generated holograms(CGHs), which was used in the real time optical correlator system instead of using expensive spatial light modulators(SLMs). From the characteristic test, it was found that OA-pSDF showed distortion invariance and good performances in discrminating subset images. The proposed OA-pSDF BPOF could overcome the limitations of conventional BPOFs : that is distortion variance such as acale and rotation, especially out of plane variance.
In general, the Lohmann-type binary hologram represents its amplitude and phase by using the rectangular cell. In this paper, we adapts a circular cell to represents the amplitude and phase of holograms. In order to compare the characteristics of the circular cell with the rectangular one, we analyzed the results based on the computer simulations and various optical experiments. The results show that a clearer reconstructed image can be obtained by dividing one cell into many pixels. In the case of a uniform reconstructed image, the rectangular cell is better than the circular cell. However, as for the brightness of the reconstructed image, the circular cell is better than the rectangular one.

In this paper, a grating to apply for the optical interconnection is designed using a Genetic Algorithm(GA) as a robust and an efficient schema. A hybrid optical interconnection system architecture is implemented by the liquid crystal panel as a programmable spatial light modulator. As the result of geometrical transformation to obtain the quantitative data for $3{\times}3$ spot beams at CCD array detector by optical experiment truthfully, the mean of beam intensity as a gray level is 202, the maximum value is 225, the minimum value is 186, and a uniformity is quantitatively $1.93{\times}10^{-1}$ similar to simulation result.
The robust identification and comprehensive profiling of copy number alterations (CNAs) is highly challenging. The amount of data obtained from high-throughput technologies such as array-based comparative genomic hybridization is often too large and it is required to develop a comprehensive and versatile tool for the detection and visualization of CNAs in a genome-wide scale. With this respective, we introduce a software framework, CGHscape that was originally developed to explore the CNAs for the study of copy number variation (CNV) or tumor biology. As a standalone program, CGHscape can be easily installed and run in Microsoft Windows platform. With a user-friendly interface, CGHscape provides a method for data smoothing to cope with the intrinsic noise of array data and CNA detection based on SW-ARRAY algorithm. The analysis results can be demonstrated as log2 plots for individual chromosomes or genomic distribution of identified CNAs. With extended applicability, CGHscape can be used for the initial screening and visualization of CNAs facilitating the cataloguing and characterizing chromosomal alterations of a cohort of samples.
