  • In this paper, in order to support rapid and effective decision-making and response in disaster situations, we identified the author's organization of academic research papers and conducted a collaborative relationship analysis study based on this. For this purpose, 2,308 papers in 69 Korean academic journals classified by disaster and safety type were selected for analysis and experimental data were constructed based on the Korea Science Citation Database (KSCD) and institutional identification data provided by KISTI. Collaborative relationship analysis was conducted for each of the four units (Institution, Institution type, Institution region and University department type). First, statistical status such as frequency of appearance was compared, and basic properties and main centrality index of each co-occurrence network were calculated and analyzed using Social Network Analysis Method. In addition, a visualization map was created and presented for each network so that the collaborative relationship could be viewed and understood as a whole. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the search activities of institutions and cooperative groups that support effective disaster response and to lay the foundation for the information service system.

  • This research is aimed at identifying the perception associated with urban regeneration and predicting policy implications of future directions by analyzing the trend of urban regeneration depicted in the mass media by utilizing SNA (Semantic-Network Analysis) techniques. As the number of articles has increased, it is noted through analysis that the interrelationships between social phenomena and issues have combined to form the meaning of urban regeneration. Overall, 'urban' and 'regeneration' keywords also appeared at different periods, with 'urban' closely related to 'regeneration' starting in 1970 when urbanization was becoming more prevalent. It was analyzed that the frequency of 'urban' appeared more frequently in the early 1990s, while the frequency of 'rural' decreased sharply. Until the 1990s, the slums and the recession that appeared as side effects of urban problem-solving policies were mostly concentrated in cities. Policy discussions were conducted with the goal of improving the physical environment of cities rather than concentrating on the surrounding rural areas. The distributions of the keywords 'development' and 'regeneration' have increased quantitatively since the 1970s, and urban polarization has exploded due to the development of the external growth of cities, mirroring the trend of accelerated environmental threats. In particular, the keywords for 'regeneration' emerged mainly related to environmental problems, which led to the need for urban regeneration, and environmentally and ecologically friendly development. The emergence of "urban," "regeneration" and "environment" as keywords having to do with urban regeneration grew in the 1990s. This suggests that urban regeneration is now linked to "environment", as that has become a social issue.

  • This study aims to quantitatively evaluate the conservation priorities of unexecuted urban parks in Seoul both from an ecological and public perspective. To this end, two methodologies, ecological network analysis based on graph and circuit theory and accessibility analysis, were employed in order to assess ecological connectivity of and public accessibility to unexecuted parks, respectively. This study applied linkage-mapping methods (shortest path and current flow betweenness centrality) of connectivity analysis to an integrated map of landscape permeability. The population-weighted accessibility to unexecuted parks was measured based on a negative exponential distance decay function. As a result, for both ecological connectivity and accessibility, Gwanaksan, Suraksan, and Bulamsan urban natural parks are found to be the most important (rank 1-3) to be conserved. For these sites, inner park areas with conservation priorities for connectivity and accessibility were identified. The findings of the study can be used for giving conservation priority to the unexecuted urban parks in terms of long-term sustainable urban planning.

  • Due to the implementation of COVID-19 distancing, interest and users in 'home training' are rapidly increasing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the perception of 'home training' through big data analysis on social media channels and provide basic data to related business sector. Social media channels collected big data from various news and social content provided on Naver and Google sites. Data for three years from March 22, 2020 were collected based on the time when COVID-19 distancing was implemented in Korea. The collected data included 4,000 Naver blogs, 2,673 news, 4,000 cafes, 3,989 knowledge IN, and 953 Google channel news. These data analyzed TF and TF-IDF through text mining, and through this, semantic network analysis was conducted on 70 keywords, big data analysis programs such as Textom and Ucinet were used for social big data analysis, and NetDraw was used for visualization. As a result of text mining analysis, 'home training' was found the most frequently in relation to TF with 4,045 times. The next order is 'exercise', 'Homt', 'house', 'apparatus', 'recommendation', and 'diet'. Regarding TF-IDF, the main keywords are 'exercise', 'apparatus', 'home', 'house', 'diet', 'recommendation', and 'mat'. Based on these results, 70 keywords with high frequency were extracted, and then semantic indicators and centrality analysis were conducted. Finally, through CONCOR analysis, it was clustered into 'purchase cluster', 'equipment cluster', 'diet cluster', and 'execute method cluster'. For the results of these four clusters, basic data on the 'home training' business sector were presented based on consumers' main perception of 'home training' and analysis of the meaning network.

  • The aim of this study is to examine agglomeration patterns of advertising industries and spatial networks of advertisement production in Korea. The focus of analysis is the agglomeration pattern of advertising industries within Seoul because these are agglomerated in Seoul like other business services. Analysis methods are local Moran's I index and location quotient with the regional percentages of each sector's number of employees. Clusters in Gangnam Area are related to start-up advertising firms and global agencies entering domestic advertising markets. Network analysis is used to investigate the spatial networks of TV advertisement production between advertising agencies(AA) and film productions(FP). After transformation of AA-FP network matrix to regional matrix centrality index and brokerage scores are calculated. This analysis shows individual region's different role and position in the AA-FP network. Many agencies in or out of Gangnam Area outsource most advertisement makings to film productions in Gangnam Area. Advertising industry dusters in Gangnam Area is important as of the destination of advertisement production networks and the circulation of those networks.

  • The protein interaction network contains a small number of highly connected protein, denoted hub and many destitutely connected proteins. Recently, several studies described that a hub protein is more likely to be essential than a non-hub protein. This phenomenon called as the centrality-lethality rule. This rule is widely credited to exhibit the importance of hub proteins in the complex network and the significance of network architecture as well. To confirm whether the rule is accurate, we investigated all protein interaction DBs of yeast in the public sites such as Uetz, Ito, MIPS, DIP, SGD, and BioGRID. Interestingly, the protein network shows that the rule is correct in lower scale DBs (e.g., Uetz, Ito, and DIP) but is not correct in higher scale DBs (e.g., SGD and BioGRID). We are now analyzing the features of networks obtained from the SGD and BioGRD and comparing those of network from the DIP.

  • Background and objective: The prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on mental health, which has emerged as a major public health issue around the world. This study aimed to analyze trends and network structure of 'grow-your-own (GYO)' through Instagram, one of the most influential social media platforms, to encourage and sustain home gardening activities for promotion of emotional support and physical health. Methods: A total of 6,388 posts including keyword hashtags '#gyo' and '#growyourown' on Instagram from June 13, 2020 to April 13, 2021 were collected. Word embedding was performed using Word2Vec library, and 7 clusters were identified with K-means clustering: GYO, garden and gardening, allotment, kitchen garden, sustainability, urban gardening, etc. Moreover, we conducted social network analysis to determine the centrality of related words and visualized the results using Gephi 0.9.2. Results: The analysis showed that various combinations of words, such as #growourrownfood, #growourrownveggies, and #growwhatyoueat revealed preference and interest of users in GYO, and appeared to encourage their activities on Instagram. In particular, #gardeningtips, #greenfingers, #goodlife, #gardeninglife, #gardensofinstagram were found to express positive emotions and pride as a gardener by sharing their daily gardening lives. Users were participating in urban gardening through #allotment, #raisedbeds, #kitchengarden and we could identify trends toward self-sufficiency and sustainable living. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it is expected that the trend data of GYO, which is a form of urban gardening, can be used as the basic data to establish urban gardening plans considering each characteristic, such as the emotions and identity of participants as well as their dispositions.
