CD 1~2장의 크기로 DVD 수준의 화질과 음질을 보장해주는 뛰어난 압축률의 Divx파일이 보편화되면서 보다 현장감 있는 영상을 큰 화면의 TV에서 즐기려는 이들이 늘고 있다. 기존 TV의 해상도 문제와 모니터의 응답속도 문제를 보완해주는‘디빅스플레이어’들이 속속 시장에 출시되면서 DVD콤보의 차세대 제품으로 주목받고 있다. 홈시어터의 보급과 더불어 디빅스플레이어의 수요는 앞으로 더욱 확대될 전망이다.

Experimental studies on the aerodynamic coupling effect on natural frequencies, critical speed and flutter instability of DVD disks are investigated in this paper. The experimental results are compared with the theoretical analyses where the aerodynamic effects are represented in terms of elastic, lift and damping and stiffness components. The experiments are performed using a vacuum chamber and DVD disks rotating in vacuum, open and enclosure with several different gaps between disk and wall. The following three results are given. One is that the aerodynamic effect by the surrounding air reduces the natural frequencies and critical speeds of the vibration modes. The second is that natural frequency decreases as the disk-wall gap is decreased. Finally, it is shown that the disk vibration is reduced as the gap between the disk and the rigid wall decreases.

목적 : Small-scalled PACS, Pc-based PACS로 표현되는 MicroPACS 시스템 구축에 대한 관심도가 급격하게 증가하고 있는 추세이다. MicroPACS 시스템은 PACS를 작은 규모에서 사용할 수 있도록 구성해놓은 것이고, 이 시스템을 구성하기 위해서는 DICOM viewer나 연결프로그램 등이 필요하다. 이것은 공개소스프로그램(Open Source Program)을 통해서 어느 누구나 쉽게 무료로 다운로드를 받을 수 있게 되어있다. 본 논문은 Open source program으로 MicroPACS를 직접 구성해보았고, 저장매체로서의 활용가치를 측정하기위하여 성능, 안정성 측면에서 기존의 광 저장매체(CD, DVDRAM)와 비교 분석하였다. 실험재료 및 방법 : 1. 소형 PACS를 구축하기 위해서 먼저 다음 기준에 맞는 DICOM Server Software를 검색한다. (1) 윈도우체제에서 사용가능할 것. (2) Free ware일 것. (3) PET/CT scanner와 호환되어야 할 것. (4) 사용하기 쉬워야 할 것. (5) 저장의 한계가 없어야 할 것. 2. (1) MicroPACS의 성능을 평가하기 위해 환자 1명의 Data ($^{18}F$-FDG Torso PET/CT)를 현재 Back-up장치로 쓰이는 광 저장매체(CD, DVD-RAM)와 MicroPACS에 저장하는데 소요되는 시간(Back up time)과 workstation으로 복구되기까지의 시간(Retrieval time)을 비교해 보았다. (2) PET/CT 검사를 시행했던 환자 1명의 병록번호와 검사 시행날짜를 핵의학과 직원 7명을 대상으로 알려주고 Data를 찾는데 소요되는 시간을 MicroPACS와 광 저장매체(CD, DVD-RAM)에서 각각 측정하여 비교하였다. 3. 기존의 백업장치로 쓰였던 CD들 중에서 2004년부터 2006년까지 500장을 무작위로 뽑아서 loading을 하였고 그중에서 얼마만큼의 에러가 발생하였는지를 측정하여 MicroPACS의 안정성을 비교평가하였다. 결과 : 1. Server와 DICOM viewer 기능을 갖춘 11개의 open source software 중에서 Conquest DICOM Server를 선택하였다. 2. (1) Backup과 Retrieval 시간 비교(단위 : 분)는 다음과 같다; DVD-RAM(5.13,2.26)/Conquest DICOM Server (1.49,1.19) by GE DSTE (p<0.001), CD (6.12,3.61)/Conquest (0.82,2.23) by GE DLS (p<0.001), CD (5.88,3.25)/Conquest (1.05,2.06) by SIEMENS. (2) CD ($156{\pm}46$초), DVD-RAM ($115{\pm}21$초) and Conquest DICOM Server ($13{\pm}6$초). 3. 1년간 MicroPACS에서의 데이터손실은 없었으며(0%), 500장의 CD 중에서 14개(2.8%)가 Loading하는데 실패하였다. 결론 : 현재 많은 병원에서 도입되고 있는 Full PACS를 open source software를 통하여 소규모의 PACS로 재현해 보았고, 그 결과 가능하다는 결론이 나왔다. 데이터 저장의 유용성을 평가한 결과에서 MicroPACS를 이용하는 것이 기존의 광저장매체를 사용하는 것보다 효율적이고 작업속도가 향상 된다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

This paper presents a design methodology of a Digital Servo Signal Processor for high speed CD-RW drive systems. The proposed Digital Servo Signal Processor enables us to develop CD-related systems for the very high speed applications and is one of the key components of the CD-RW systems. The proposed center compensation servo control is newly built for an actuator shaking due to the fast response of a step motor when it jumps to a long distance. A control method compensating for eccentricity of a disc is implemented for operating robustly at a higher rotational speed. This servo mechanism is more size efficient and less power consumed because it is implemented using a ARM7 embedded processor and hardware digital filters. Furthermore, it is convenient to upgrade firmware for the future required functions. From experimental results, we can see that the performance of the control system is improved greatly. The proposed servo algorithm shows a shorter setting time including a pull-in time and a faster access time. It can be applied easily to the DVD-ROM and the DVD-RAM which have the same optical structure.

PACS Import external image of the thread of the tasks and duties of hospital revenue and business efficiency falls over time. 500 beds or more medical imaging import work outside of the hospital, most hospitals use a PC, KIOSK, and was used in 15 hospitals where, CD Autoloader where use was the only one. Working hours compared to CD and DVD media to test the results of the Import target PC, KIOSK, CD Autoloader Import spent less time in the order, and also the greater capacity of CD Autoloader four times the PC, KIOSK 2 times Import could be implemented quickly. In addition, the waiting time of the patients was measured using the PC's time to Import, 2011 14.5 minutes and the average patient waiting time, KIOSK and later use CD Autoloader 2012 average patient wait time of 8.25 minutes, 43% of the existing average waiting time was 5.25 minutes to reduce. However, KIOSK case of a patient in a way that directly Import latency time was soon. Import of three ways: in terms of efficiency and excellent CD Autoloader way, the patient waiting time in terms of ease of use and KIOSK was excellent. In addition, with the introduction of CD Autoloader with KIOSK Joint of the items waiting time of patients and patient satisfaction rating is considered to be a major contribution.

This paper presents the VLSI implementation of RS(reed-solomon) decoder using the Modified Euclidean Algorithm(hereafter MEA) for DVD(Digital Versatile Disc) and CD(Compact Disc). The decoder has a capability of correcting 8-error or 16-erasure for DVD and 2-error or 4-erasure for CD. The technique of polynomial evaluation is introduced to realize syndrome calculation and a polynomial expansion circuit is developed to calculate the Forney syndrome polynomial and the erasure locator polynomial. Due to the property of our system with buffer memory, the MEA architecture can have a recursive structure which the number of basic operating cells can be reduced to one. We also proposed five criteria to determine an uncorrectable codeword in using the MEA. The overall architecture is a simple and regular and has a 4-stage pipelined structure.

DVD는 CD사이즈의 광디스크에 고화질기 MPEG2 디지털 압축동화를 두 시간이상 수록할 수 있는 기록 및 재생기기로써 최초의 규격서가 1996년 8월에 발행되었다. 650nm의 적색반도체레이저와 개구수 0.6의 대물렌즈를 채용한 광픽업으로 직경 12cm의 단면디스크에 CD-ROM의 약 7배인 4.7GB에서 17GB까지의 용량저장이 가능하다. 변조방식은, DC성분을 억제할 수 있고, 또한 DR(Density Ratio)이 큰 EFM-Plus 변조를 채용하고, 에러정정방식은 32kB를 하나의 블록으로 하는 Reed Solomon Product code이다. File system은, 음성, 화상데이터와 컴퓨터 데이터를 통합할 수 있도록 계층구조로 하고, ISO9669 파일시스템과 UDF파일시스템을 함께 사용하고 있다. (중략)

Extensive studies have been conducted for reducing the residual stresses and birefringence in injection-molded optical disk substrate Flow-induced and thermally-induced stresses and birefringence have been found as two main sources during injection molding process. However, high speed rotation also induces extra stresses and birefringence in real operation of disk drives. In the present paper rotation-induced in-plane birefringence has been measured and presented for CD and DVD substrates at different radial position. About 10 - 15 nm of extra retardation in one pass has been measured up to 4,800 rpm. The distribution of extra rotation-induced birefringence will be valuable data for designing an optimal optical disk substrate. Finally, experimental results were compared with the extra stresses calculated from simple formulation.
