  • Business process in e-government mostly embody as the flow of documents. Constructing a web-based document flow system becomes an critical task for today s digital government. But few of them use an off-the-shelf workflow product. Why? One of the reasons is that most of the workflow system are heavyweight, monolithic, and package a comprehensive set of features in an all-or-nothing manner. Another reason is that workflow technology lacks the constructs and modeling capability as programming language. It is incumbent on government IT organizations to transform their solution development to component-based computing model. Component technology isolates the computation and communication parts, but how to compose different software components is still a hard nut. An integrated development environment is necessary for CBSD. In this paper we propose a XML and component-based document flow-oriented integrated development environment (DFoIDE) for software developers. By writing some xml configure file, and operate on DFoIDE, developer can construct a workflow application quickly. This method divides system to several components and the activities in process are implemented as business component. Different components are discribed detailedly in this paper, especially one of the core component. Component Integrating Tool. Different perspectives in workflow application are seperated and depicted as different XML files. Correspondly, A component composition method for developing workflow application instead of workflow itself is proposed.

  • The research of the variability gains more gravity in component-based software development, because it helps to extend the reusability of the component. A domain-specific component supports the more variability, the wider scope that the component can be applied to. However, the more variability included in a component, It makes the size of a component bigger, and the cost to construct the component is rises. As a result, this disturbs making an optimized system. In this paper, we classify the variability into 3 types, according to their features. And we propose some implementation techniques for each type based COM. Moreover, we also propose a process to analysis and design the variability with their artifacts, which includes some tasks from variability extraction to implementation of it. This proposed process can be applied as a part of the component developing process.

  • Software productivity doesn't satisfy the need of service of software users and software quality isn't improved. Moreover, we still have difficulty in software maintenance. As a plan to counteract solving this crisis, the technology that is called CBSE or Componentware is introduced. Componet Based Software Architecture, one of the technologies associated with CBSE, as a structural description of system, describes both the components composed system of and interaction among these components. Software Architecture provides the technology and the methodology of composition among components in the field of CBSE. is accepted one of core technologies. In this thesis, we analyse information necessary for component specification and then proposed that component specificaton activities using formal specification language Z which is verified with the ability of analysis and logicality. The proposed activities are composed of 9 tasks. By presenting specific 11 products, it is also proposed that component specification activities which is the base of CBSD(ComponentBased Software Development) for reusing.

  • EJB(Enterprise JavaBeans) is the server-side component model and its purpose is to reduce the complexity of software development and to increase software reusability. Many concerns for development of EJB components have recently been raised. However, it is difficult to compose EJB components provided by third parties through the plug-and-play method. Therefore, the composition method by lego block styles is needed for EJB components. In this paper, we propose an approach to composition of EJB components using the C2 architectural style. In order to support EJB composition, we modified the general C2 architecture framework. We propose how to create EJB wrappers that can compose EJB components according to the C2 framework. Our approach also enables developers to create a new composite EJB that uses a C2 architecture which is composed of EJB components. To do this, we propose how to create a new composite EJB.

  • Even though many approaches for reuse have been introduced, software engineers are still hesitating to reuse existing software components. Among various reasons for the phenomena, the most significant one is that existing approaches failed to give substantial benefit for the reduction of developers' effort in reusing software assets. To solve this problem, we introduce a custom reuse model utilizing diverse aspects of components specified by RAS and services oriented architecture. We also carried out a case study to demonstrate its feasibility and evaluated it by comparing it to an existing code-based software reuse process. The proposed reuse model helps in the reduction of effort in reusing existing components by decreasing the time for searching and understanding them. Compared to other approaches such as product line engineering, our approach for software reuse using MPC does not require much initial work for implementing the reuse model in different projects. It is of interest to software engineers who are worried about heavy investment, which can cause the delay in their usual development work. Furthermore, the proposed reuse model is not mutually exclusive with other approaches for software reuse such as CBSD or product line engineering. It can accelerate the benefits gained from them.
