Background: Conspicuous differences in participation rates for breast self-examination (BSE), clinical breast examination (CBE), and referral for further investigations have been observed indicating involvement of a number of different factors. This study analysed determinants for participation in different levels of the breast cancer screening process in Indian females. Materials and Methods: An intervention group of 52,011 women was interviewed in a breast cancer screening trial in Trivandrum district, India. In order to assess demographic, socio-economic, reproductive, and cancer-related determinants of participation in BSE, CBE, and referral, uni- and multi-variate logistic regression was employed. Results: Of the interviewed women, 23.2% reported practicing BSE, 96.8% had attended CBE, and 49.1% of 2,880 screen-positives attended referral. Results showed an influence of various determinants on participation; women who were currently not married or who had no family history of cancer were significantly less likely to attend the screening process at any level. Conclusions: Increasing awareness about breast cancer, early detection methods, and the advantages of early diagnoses among women, and their families, as well as health care workers offering social support, could help to increase participation over the entire screening process in India.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally. This study was conducted to compare the awareness of breast cancer and the practice of breast self-examination (BSE), clinical breast examination (CBE) and mammography screening among rural females in Pahang and Perak. A cross-sectional study was carried out in five selected rural districts of Pahang and Perak. Two hundred and fifty households were randomly selected and interviewed face to face using a semi-structured questionnaire. The majority of residents from both states were Malay, aged between 50 and 60 years and had a secondary level of education. Malay women aged 40-49 years and women with a higher level of education were significantly more aware of breast cancer (p<0.05). About half of these women practiced BSE (60.7%) and CBE (56.1%), and 7% had underwent mammography screening. The results of this study suggest that women in Pahang and Perak have good awareness of breast cancer and that more than half practice BSE and CBE. The women's level of education appears to contribute to their level of knowledge and health behaviour. However, more effort is needed to encourage all women in rural areas to acquire further knowledge on breast cancer.
The distribution and activities of hydrolytic enzymes (cellulolyti, hemicellulolytic, pectinolytic and others) in the rumen compartments of Hereford bulls fed 100% alfalfa hay based diets were evaluated. The alfalfa proportion in the diet was gradually increased for two weeks. Whole rumen contents were processed into four fractions: Rumen contents including both the liquid and solid fractions were homogenized and centrifuged, and the supernatant was assayed for enzymes located in whole rumen contents (WRE); rumen contents were centrifuged and the supernatant was assayed for enzymes located in rumen fluids (RFE); feed particles in rumen contents were separated manually, washed with buffer, resuspended in an equal volume of buffer, homogenized and centrifuged and supernatant was assayed for enzymes associated with feed particles (FAE); and rumen microbial cell fraction was separated by centrifugation, suspended in an equal volume of buffer, sonicated and centrifuged, and the supernatant was assayed for enzymes bound with microbial cells (CBE). It was found that polysaccharide-degrading proteins such as $\beta$-1,4-D-endoglucanase, $\beta$-1,4-D-exoglucanase, xylanase and pectinase enzymes were located mainly with the cell bound (CBE) fraction. However, $\beta$-D-glucosidase, $\beta$-D-fucosidase, acetylesterase, and $\alpha$-L-arabinofuranosidase were located in the rumen fluids (RFE) fraction. Protease activity distributions were 37.7, 22.1 and 40.2%, and amylase activity distributions were 51.6, 18.2 and 30.2% for the RFE, FAE and CBE fractions, respectively. These results indicated that protease is located mainly in rumen fluid and with microbial cells, whereas amylase was located mainly in the rumen fluid.

Palmitoyl-oleoyl-oleoyl (POO) and palmitoyl-oleoyl-palmitoyl triacylglycerol rich fraction (PSL) was obtained from the acetone fractionation of palm stearin. The fatty acid composition (total and positional), tri-acylglycerol species, and solid fat index (SFI) were compared among the blends of natural vegetable fats (sal fat, illipe fat, kokum fat, shea stearin fat, and shea butter) and PSL with different ratios (50:50, 60:40, 65:35, 70:30). In total fatty acid composition of PSL, palmitic, oleic, and linoleic acids were the major fatty acids, whereas in natural vegetable fats stearic and palmitic acids were the major fatty acids. Moreover, oleic acid was a major fatty acid at sn-2 position in sal fat, illipe fat, and kokum fat. The TAG species was analyzed by reversed-phase HPLC, from which the PN value ranged from 46 to 54. When natural vegetable fats and PSL were blended with different ratios, decreasing the amount of PSL resulted in increasing SFI in most cases. Among blends, the SFI of sal fat and PSL were most similar to commercial cocoa butter equivalent (CBE).
Background: The burden of breast and cervical cancer is changing over time in developing countries. Regular screening is very important for early detection and treatment. In this study, we assessed inequalities in breast and cervical cancer screening rates in women according to household wealth status, and analyzed the potential predictors associated with a low cancer screening rate in Jordan. Materials and Methods: A nationwide populationbased cross-sectional survey collected information on different variables at the national level. All ever-married women (the phrase is used throughout the text to refer to women who had ever married) aged 15-49 years were included in the survey. Analysis of breast self-examination (BSE) and clinical breast examination (CBE) at least once in the previous year was carried out in 11,068 women, while lifetime Pap-smear testing was carried out in 8,333 women, aged 20-49 years. Results: Over 39% and 19% of ever-married Jordanian women reported having undergone a breast examination during the previous year and Pap smear examination at least once in their lifetime, respectively. The rate of BSE in the previous year was 31.5%, that of CBE in the previous year was 19.3%, and that of Pap smear examination at least once in life was 25.5%. The adjusted OR was higher for performing BSE (aOR 1.22, 95% CI 1.04-1.43), undergoing CBE (aOR 1.31, 95% CI 1.08-1.60) and undergoing Pap smear examination (aOR 2.38, 95% CI 1.92-2.93) among women in the highest wealth-index quintile as compared to those in the lowest quintile. The concentration index was 0.11 for BSE, 0.01 for CBE, and 0.27 for Pap smear examination. Women in their twenties, living in rural or the southern region of Jordan, with an elementary school education or less, who listened to the radio or read the newspaper not more than a few times a year, and nulliparous women were less likely to undergo breast and cervical cancer screening. Conclusions: The rates of breast and cervical cancer screening are low in Jordan. Reducing the sociodemographic and economic inequalities in breast and cervical cancer screenings requires concerted outreach activities for women living under socially deprived conditions.

Community-based ecotourism (CBE), if well-developed can be a practical approach for promoting socio-economic well-being and sustaining ecological resources. The growth and its development worldwide especially in developing economies is a welcome development. The study aimed at assessing the Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary in Ghana, as an example of traditional conservation system of management that has ensured greater community participation, equity, inclusiveness, and multi-level stakeholder partnership. In-depth interviews with key informants and documentary analysis of relevant peer reviewed and grey literature were the main qualitative data collection used. Results revealed that majority of the interviewees support and value the current system of traditional management. The enforcement of rules and regulations and other cultural and religious practices were discussed by key informants. Opportunities for multiple livelihood strategies as a result of the CBE is seen as critical for increasing local's acceptance and participation. The remarkable growth of the sanctuary, as well as the increase in human population, has created a shortage of land for domestic and other commercial purposes which is identified as posing a major challenge to the sustenance of the sanctuary. The study recommends diversification of livelihood opportunities presented by the presence of the sanctuary like the introduction of homestay concept, craft making- wood carving, painting, artisan shops.
[ $InxGa_{1-x}P/GaAs$ ] structures were grown by chemical beam epitaxy(CBE), Pure phosphine($PH_3$) gases were used as group V sources. for the group III sources, TEGa, TmIn were used. $InxGa_{1-x}P$ epilayer was grown on SI-GaAs substrate and has a 1-${\mu}m$ thick. We have investigated the characteristics of $InxGa_{1-x}P$ by the photoreflectance(PR) spectroscopy, The PR spectrum of $InxGa_{1-x}P$ shows third-derivative feature whose Peaks Provide energy gap. The energy gap of $InxGa_{1-x}P$ has deduced composition x. From temperature dependance of PR spectra, temperature coefficient is $dEg/dT=-3.773{\times}10^{-4}$ eV/K, and Varshni coefficients $\alpha$ and $\beta$ values obtained $4{\times}10^4$ eV/K and 267 K respectively. Also, interaction $\alpha$B was 19.4 meV using the Bose-Einstein temperature relation, and $\Theta$ value related the average phonon frequency were 101.4 K. In particular, shoulder peak related to defects observed in PR signal that measured in temperature 82 K.
InGaAs eqitaxial layers have been selectively grown on patterned GaAs(100) substrates by chemical beam epitaxy (CBE) using triethylgallium (TEGa), trimethylindium (TMIn), and unprecracked monoethylarsine (MEAs). Facet growth of InGaAs epilayers has also been investigated at the various growth temperatures and Si4N4 dielectric pattern directions. In [011] jirection of mask, the change from (311), (377) and (111) facets to (311) facet with increasing growth temperature was observed. In [011] direction, however, the change from (011) and (111) facets to (111) facet with increasing growth temperature was observed. These results are attributed to the sidewall growth caused by different surface migration lengths of reactants. The formation of U-shaped (100) top surface is also discussed in terms of dangling bond model.

Undoped GaAs has been successfully grown by chemical beam epitaxy (CBE) via surface decomposition process using arsine $(AsH_3)$ and trimethylgallium (TMG). Three distinct regions of temperature-dependent growth rates were identified in the range of temperatures from 570 to $690^{\circ}C$. The growth rates were found strongly dependent on the V/III ratio between 5 and 30. The growth rate at low V/III ratio seems to be determined by arsenic produced on the surface, whereas at high V/III ratio it shows dependence on the adsorption of TMG. Hall measurement and photoluminescence (PL) analysis show that the films are all p-type and that carbon impurities are primarily responsible for the background doping. Carbon concentrations have been found to be reduced by two orders of magnitude as compared to those of epilayers grown by CBE which employs TMG and arsenic obtained from precracked $AsH_3$ in a high temperature cell. It was also found that hydrogen atoms dissociated from unprecracked $AsH_3$ play an important role in removing hydrocarbon-containing species resulting in a significant reduction of car-bon impurities.
