  • In this research, hybrid method with case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning is applied. Using case-based reasoning, design experts'experience and know-how are effectively represented in order to obtain a proper configuration of midship section in the initial ship design stage. Since there is not sufficient domain knowledge available to us, traditional case-adaptation algorithms cannot be applied to our problem, i.e., creating the configuration of midship section. Thus, new case-adaptation algorithms not requiring any domain knowledge are developed antral applied to our problem. Using the knowledge representation of DnV rules, rule-based reasoning can perform deductive inference in order to obtain the scantling of midship section efficiently. The results from the case-based reasoning and the rule-based reasoning are examined by comparing the results with various conventional methods. And the reasonability of our results is verified by comparing the results wish actual values from parent ship.

  • Railway safety case is an important measure for demonstrates operating company's capability, commitment and competence in accordance with Railway Regulation 2000 in UK. Safety case describes the scope of operation, definition and boundary of activity, risk analysis, system safety activity, annul safety plan. Relationships between' these components and company's policy, organization, human resource, control measure, investment plan are also included. A case study for Network Rail (infrastructure manager)'s safety case is described in this paper for the construction of safety rule and safety planning.

  • This paper presents deterministic, worst-case analysis of a queueing system whose multiple homogeneous input streams are regulated by the associated leaky buckets and the queueing system that has a single stream regulated by the jumping-window. Queueing delay averaged over all items is used for performance measure, and the worst-case input traffic and the worst-case performance are identified for both queueing systems. For the former queueing system, the analysis explores different phase relations among leaky-bucket token generations. This paper observes how the phase differences among the leaky buckets affect the worst-case queueing performance. Then, this paper relates the worst-case performance of the former queueing system with that of the latter (the single stream case, as in the aggregate streams from many users, whose item arrivals are regulated by one jumping-window). It is shown that the worst-case performance of the latter is identical to that of the former in which all leaky buckets have the same phase and have particular leaky bucket parameters.

  • We have investigated correlation between airtightness measured by blower door and airborne sound insulation measured in the upper and lower units. We consist of two cases : all windows sealed(CASE 1) and not sealed(CASE 2). As a result, CASE 1 is tighter than CASE 2 in airtightness, but CASE 1 is lower than CASE 2 in sound level difference. This is because of big wind on measuring CASE 1. Thus we are going to measure them at another fields considering this factor. Finally we ought to find out the correlation between airtightness and sound insulation.

  • In this paper, we present an environment configuration of UML CASE tool for internet based collaboration work. We define a method of model sharing in distributed location and construct shared repository. Also we design for model history among work processes and to give responsibility using user authentication. Its result will contribute development of CASE tool supporting collaboration work.

  • The main goal of a case-control study is to learn the association between various risk factors and a primary outcome (e.g., disease status). Particularly recently, it is also quite common to perform secondary analyses of the case-control data in order to understand certain associations between the risk factors of the primary outcome. It has been repeatedly documented with case-control data, association studies of the risk factors that ignore the case-control sampling scheme can produce highly biased estimates of the population effects. In this article, we review the issues of the naive secondary analyses that do not account for the biased sampling scheme, and also the various methods that have been proposed to account for the case-control ascertainment. We additionally compare the results of many of the discussed methods in an example examining the association of a particular genetic variant with smoking behavior, where the data were obtained from a lung cancer case-control study.

  • This paper compares secondary predication constructions such as small clause complements, resultatives, and depictives in English and Korean. It argues that these two typologically different languages employ different modes of satisfying the Case Filter with regard to the Case of the subjects of small clauses. More specifically, it is argued that the subject of a small clause in English is Accusative Case-marked by the higher governing verb, while that ul ]Korean is Nominative Case-marked by default.

  • Objective : To observe the effect of Boryungbosim-tang on the cough, cough patients medicine Boryungbosim-tang. Methods : A clinical observation was done on 30 case of cough patients, treated by Boryungbosim-tang, who were hospitalized frome January, 1. 1999 to December, 31, 1999 at the department of IKSAN Oriental Medicine Hospital, Wonkwang University and Pak Cheon Soo oriental medical clinic. Results : The effect of treated by Boryungbosim-tang is that excellent was 19 case(63.33%), good 3 case(10%), fair 3 case(10%) and poor 5 case(16.66%). Conclusions : These results indicate that the effect of Boryungbosim-tang on the cough is excellent.

  • In this paper, the problem for choosing design points in the two dimensional case is condidered. In the one dimensional case, given the design density function, we can choose design points using the quantile function. However, in the two dimensional case, there is no clear definition of the percentile. Therefore, the idea of choosing design points in the univariate case can not be applied directly to the two dimensional case. We convert this problem into an optimization problem using the Voronoi diagram.
