Development of Asymmetric Plastic Fan Product (비대칭형 플라스틱 팬 제품 개발)

  • The analysis of injection molding process by CAE is widely used in development of plastic products. That comes from the fact that CAE analysis can reduce trial and error based on optimized design. On this study, by use of MOLDFLOW, the causes of product defects were found and solved by trade-off study. CAE analysis includes Flow-Cool-Warpage Analyses and finally a new mold-die design with better product quality was suggested. On injection molding of round-shaped plastic fan, new mold-die system with 4-tunnel gates located on the edge of a fan disc shows better quality rather than pin-point gate located on the center of a disc. That was effective in terms of flow mark removal and flatness improvement of the product.

사출성형 공정 캐비티 내 압력 측정과 CAE 해석을 활용한 점도 함수 추정

  • 본 연구에서는 사출 성형에서 Cavity내의 압력을 측정하여 사출 성형기에서의 설정한 변수 즉, 사출 압력에 따라 Cavity내의 압력이 사출 공정동안 어떠한 추이를 나타내는지 관찰하였다. 이를 CAE 해석과 비교 분석하여 결과에 따른 점도 함수와의 관계를 알아보았다. 우선 Cavity의 압력을 측정하기 위하여 Cavity 내에 압력센서를 설치하고, 이를 시간에 따른 압력측정 결과를 보기 위하여 압력센서 시스템을 제작 하였다. 실제 사출성형하면서 Cavity 내 압력을 측정하고 CAE 해석 결과의 압력 변화와 비교한다. 이때 일반적으로 CAE 해석과 실험결과가 일치하지 않으므로 새로운 점도 곡선을 추정하여 CAE 소프트웨어 D/B(Data Base) 파일에 입력하여 다시 해석하고 실험 결과와 비교하여 압력변화가 일치할 때까지 반복해서 수행한다. 이때 점도는 Power Law로 가정하여 D/B 파일에서 K와 n값을 조절할 수 있고 일반적으로 n값은 Base Resin과 동일하므로 K값의 변화만을 고려하여 압력변화를 해석한다.

A Study on the Application of Fuzzy Neural Network for Troubleshooting of Injection Molding Problems (사출성형 문제해결을 위한 퍼지 신경망 적용에 관한 연구)

  • In order to predict the moldability of a injection molded part, a simulation of filling is needed. Short shot is one of the most frequent troubles encountered during injection molding process. The adjustment of process conditions is the most economic way to troubleshoot the problematic short shot in cost and time since the mold doesn't need to be modified at all. But it is difficult to adjust the process conditions appropriately in no times since it requires an empirical knowledge of injection molding. In this paper, the intelligent CAE system synergistically combines fuzzy-neural network (FNN) for heuristic knowledge with CAE programs for analytical knowledge. To evaluate the intelligent algorithms, a cellular phone flip has been chosen as a finite element model and filling analyses have been performed with a commercial CAE software. As the results, the intelligent CAE system drastically reduces the troubleshooting time of short shot in comparison with the experts' conventional methodology which is similar to the golden section search algorithm.

  • In this paper, a study on Web-based application using commercial CAE program, ANSYS is performed. Customized analysis, site or user oriented specific analysis, is suitable to user and user's demand who has little experience in structural analysis for specific CAE analysis. Customized analysis methodology using ANSYS Workbench SDK is presented through the web-based application. Case Studies of mobile phone about the implementation of web-based application are also presented as an example.

  • Computer-aided engineering (CAE) is the broad usage of computer software to aid in engineering tasks. It includes computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided analysis (CAA), computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), material requirements planning (MRP), and computer-aided planning (CAP). In this study, the stress of mold analyzed using CAE technique. Punch loads were same difference between 0.5 % and 1.0 % of clearance, but punch load was decreased according to increasing of clearance. Punch load of pre-piercing process worked a little smaller than piercing process. Therefore, the hole of fine blanking process is also more efficient to manufacture the true size after pre-piercing.

  • Battery cases have been made of polypropylene and its warpage is relatively large due to the crystalline characteristic of polypropylene. In this study, the battery case when the injection mold used to improve the Gate by simplifying the process of production cost savings and focus on improving the quality of molding CAE analysis was carried out. The result could be produced in plastic and products of the imbalance in the flow and deformation and to predict reliability of the product will contribute to reduced scrap.

Application of Birefringence CAE in Mould Design of Optic Lens Injection Molding Process (광학렌즈 사출성형금형 설계에 있어서 CAE기술의 활용)

  • This study is focused on simulation technology in injection molding process for plastic optic lenses. The CAE program, $3D-TIMON^{TM}$ is used for the injection molding simulation with O-PET resin material. The design for different gate shape and runner layout has been under review by CAE simulation results. Moreover, the prediction of birefringence and polarized light in injection molded optic lenses has been tested by the CAE Program. The simulation results have been expected to effectively use in the design of injection molding mould.

  • The growths of the World Wide Web and the advances in high-speed network access have greatly changed existing CAD/CAE environment. The m has enabled us to share various distributed product data and to collaborate on a design work. An international standard for the product model data, STEP, and a standard fur the distributed object technology, CORBA, are becoming very important components in the advanced design and manufacturing environment. These two technologies provide background for the sharing of product data and the integration of applications on the network. This study describes a prototype CAD/CAE environment that is integrated on the network by STEP and CORBA. Several application servers servers and client software were developed to verify the proposed concept.
