CAE를 이용한 극박판 사출 금형 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design and Analysis of Thin Injection-molded Parts Using CAE)

  • 본 연구의 목적은, CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) 기술과 동시설계(Concurrent Design) 방식을 활용하여 0.3mm 정밀박판금형을 설계, 제작하는 것이다. 박판 성형은 기존의 사출성형제품에 비하여 훨씬 얇은 제품을 성형하는 것이기 때문에 수지의 충전 불량 제품의 변형, 과다 내부응력 등 많은 문제점들이 발생한다. 이런 문제점들을 해결하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통한 최적성형조건을 찾아내고자 시도하였으며 도출된 조건을 금형설계 및 성형에 적용시킴으로써 최소한의 시행오차를 통한 고부가가치 제품을 성형하였다.

클라우드 컴퓨팅기반 CAE서비스 플랫폼 개발 (Development of CAE Service Platform Based on Cloud Computing Concept)

  • Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) is very helpful field for every manufacturing industry including foundry. It covers CAD, CAM, and simulation technology also, and becomes as common sense in developing new products and processes. In South Korea, more than 600 foundries exist, and their average employee number is less than 40. Moreover, average age of them becomes higher. To break out these situations of foundry, software tools can be effective, and many commercial software tools had already been introduced. But their high costs and risks of investment act as difficulties in introducing the software tools to SMEs (Small and Medium size Enterprise). So we had developed cloud computing platform to propagate the CAE technologies to foundries. It includes HPC (High Performance Computing), platforms and software. So that users can try, enjoy, and utilize CAE software at cyber space without any investment. In addition, we also developed platform APIs (Application Programming Interface) to import not only our own CAE codes but also 3rd-party's packages to our cloud-computing platforms. As a result, CAE developers can upload their products on cloud platforms and distribute them through internet.

유동해석을 이용한 자동차용 부품(오일팬_DX2E)의 주조방안설계에 대한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Casting Layout Design of Automotive Oil Pan_DX2E Using Computer Simulation)

  • For a die casting mold, generally, the casting layout design should be considered based on the relation among injection system, casting condition, gate system, and cooling system. Also, the extent or the location of product defects was differentiated according to the various relations of the above conditions. In this research, in order to optimize the casting layout design of an automotive Oil Pan_DX2E, Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation was performed with two layout designs by using the simulation software (AnyCasting). The simulation results were analyzed and compared carefully in order to apply them into the production die-casting mold. During the filling process with two models, internal porosities caused by air entrapments were predicted and also compared with the modification of the gate system and overflow. With the solidification analysis, internal porosities occurring during the solidification process were predicted and also compared with the modified gate system.

전도성 복합재료를 이용한 PEMFC용 separator 사출성형 제조 및 전기전도성 평가 (Fabricaton of PEMFC separators with conducting polymer composites by injection molding process and evaluation of moldability and electrical conductivity of the separators)

  • 본 논문은 매트릭스 수지로 PPS(Poly(phenylene sulfide))와 PP(Polypropylene)를 사용하였으며, 물리적 및 화학적 특성을 증대시키기 위해 주 첨가제로는 팽창 흑연, 합성 흑연과 보조 첨가제로는 유리 섬유, 카본 섬유, 카본 블랙을 사용하여 총 3가지의 복합소재를 제조하였다. 제조한 복합소재를 이용하여 사출 성형 및 평가 전에 CAE(Computer Aided Engineering)해석 프로그램을 통하여 해석을 하였으며, 사출성형을 통하여 사출조건(사출 압력, 가열시간, 금형온도 등)을 최적화하였다. 일반 사출성형의 경우 온도의 제한과 성형성의 한계가 있어 유동성이 낮은 복합소재의 경우 사출성형이 어렵기 때문에 이를 보완하기 위해 E-MOLD와 사출압축 기능을 함께 사용하여 복합소재의 성형성을 향상 시켰다. 사출 성형 된 각각의 최종 시편을 four point probe 장치를 사용하여 전기전도도를 측정/비교 하였고, 3가지 복합소재 중 PP/SG/CB를 혼합하여 제조한 복합소재가 성형성 및 전기전도도가 우수한 것을 확인하였다.

다이캐스팅용 알루미늄 합금 브레이크 페달의 내구성 해석 (Durability Analysis of Aluminum Alloy Brake Pedal Manufactured by Die Casting)

  • Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) durability analysis and experiments of an aluminum alloy brake pedal were carried out for the car lighter by die casting method. In the CAE analysis, KS standards and criteria of the Volvo Car Corporation were applied, and in the experiment, KS standards were applied. The CAE analysis results show that aluminum alloy brake pedals are stronger than the conventional steel brakes pedals because the yield strength of the aluminum alloy increased by almost 97% over that of steel. Further, the structures of the cylinder and the frame were reinforced with increasing thickness of flame and were changed to suit the die-casting process. Through a durability test based on the KS standard, the strength of a prototype of the aluminum alloy brake pedal was confirmed to be sufficient.

  • The technologies of mold design, manufacturing, injection molding process and computer aided engineering(CAE) are developed rapidly with the growth of plastic product market. Injection molding process optimum design can not be easily determined. This study was determined factors and levels which carried out to analyze an influence of narrow pitch BGA socket warpage and performed investigating the main effect and interaction effect between factors using design of experiment. The result of this paper is injection time and packing pressure are affect on narrow pitch BGA socket warpage at injection molding.

  • Compliance of joints must be considered when we analyze dynamics of a multi-body system. If the virtual model for CAE(computer aided engineering) analysis does not consider compliance, the result of CAE analysis can be very different from the actual experimental result. Especially in a biped walking robot, the robot may lose walking stability due to the compliance in joints of a walking robot. This paper proposed a method applying a compliance of joints in the biped walking robot to a virtual model. Also, through the 3-D displacement measurement using a laser tracker, it was demonstrated that the virtual model considering the joint compliance could effectively simulate the nonlinear motion of the real model.

  • In construction of RC buildings, the quality of shop and detail drawings is very essential for the quality and safety of buildings. Nevertheless, most of thess works are left to site workers and the requirements about bar detailing such as anchorage and splice have been done without rational design and engineering. The purpose of this research is to develop a computer-aided drawing system of rebars for RC buildings. The system is based on an integrated structural design system, that is SDP. SDP manages an engineering database for structural design information. It provides all the information needed to draw rebar drawings. The drawing system consists of three modules, 1) Structual Plan Drawing System, 2) Shop Drawing System, and 3) Detail Drawing System. It is expected that not only the productivity of detail drawing works but also the quality and safety of buildings will be improved using the rebar drawing system developed in this research.

CAE와 Decision-tree를 이용한 사출성형 공정개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Injection Molding Process Using CAE and Decision-tree)

  • 현재 사출성형분야의 Computer Aided Testing(CAT) 방법론으로 CAE(Computer Aided Engineering)를 이용한 수치 해석 기법이 주를 이루고 있다. 그러나 최근 시뮬레이션에 추가로 인공지능 기법을 응용하는 방법론이 연구되고 있다. 우리는 지난 연구에서 다양한 Machine Learning 기법을 활용하여 사출 성형 공정에 따른 변형 결과를 비교하였으며, 최종적으로 MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron) 예측모델을 생성하였고, HMA(Hybrid Metaheuristic Algorithm)를 이용하여 최적화 결과를 얻어냈다. 그러나 MLP는 예측 성능이 우수한 반면 블랙박스와 같이 결정 과정에 대한 설명이 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 Radiator Tank 부품에 대하여 사출 성형 해석 소프트웨어인 Autodesk Moldflow 2018을 이용하여 수치 해석 기법으로 데이터를 생성하고, Machine Learning 소프트웨어인 RapidMiner Studio version 9.5를 활용하여 여러 Machine Learning Algorithms 모델을 생성하여 평균 제곱근 오차를 비교하였다. Decision-tree는 Root Mean Square Error(RMSE) 값이 다른 Machine Learning 기법에 비해 양호한 예측 성능을 갖추고 있었다. Decision-tree의 크기를 결정하는 Maximal Depth에 따라 분류 기준을 높일 수 있지만 복잡성도 함께 증가시켰다. Decision-tree를 이용하여 구속 조건을 만족하는 중간 값을 선정하여 시뮬레이션을 진행한 결과 기존의 시뮬레이션만 진행한 것보다 7.7%의 개선 효과가 있었다.

In this research, in order to optimize casting design of an automobile part (Gear Box) Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) was performed by using the simulation software (Z Cast). The simulation results were analyzed and compared with experimental results. During the mold filling, internal porosities caused by air entrap were predicted and reduced remarkably by the modification of the gate system and the configuration of overflow. With the solidification analysis, internal porosities caused by the solidification shrinkage were predicted and reduced by the modification of the gate system. For making a better production die casting tool, cooling systems on several thick areas are proposed in order to reduce internal porosities caused by the solidification shrinkage.
