The Effect of Silicon-Alloying on the Characteristics of the Pyrolytic Carbonds Deposited in Tumbling Bed by CVD (Tumbling Bed에서 화학증착법에 의해 증착되는 열분해탄소의 특성에 미치는 Silicon-Alloying의 효과)

  • In this study the sillicon-alloyed isotropic pyrolytic carbon was deposited in the tumbling bed from the pyrolysis of propane and silicon tetrachloride and investigated whether the silicon-alloyed isotropic pyrolytic carbon deposited in this study was usable as bionaterial or not. The silicon-allyed isotropic pyrolytic carbon was varied by controlling the process variables such as propane con-concentration and the argon flow rate flowing in to the silicon tetrachloride bubbler at a fixed reaction bed tempera-ture of 120$0^{\circ}C$ a rotation of reaction tube of 40 rpm a bed particle weight of 7.5 g and a total flow rate of 21/min; the propane concentration was varied from 10 to 70 and the argon flow rate flowing into the silicon tetrachloride bubble from 0 to 1000 cc/min. The results show that the silicon-alloyed isotropic pyrolytic carbon was obtained at all conditions investigated, . And then the alloyed silicon content is rangion from 7 to 14.5 wt%. The density and deposition rate of deposited silicon-alloyed isotropic carbon increased axxording to silicon content and propane concentration. And the apparent crystal-size(Lc) of pyrolytic carbon is not changed with silicon content. The density and apparant crystallite size are respec-tively in the range of 1.94 to 2.06 and 20 to 25$\AA$ It is shown that the silicon-alloyed isotropic pyrolytic carbon ob-tained in this experiment is usable as biomaterial.

  • Simulation Coated layers of a nuclear fuel particle were evaluated by field emission scanning electron microscopy and nano-indentation method to give basic data to estimate 'Amoeba effect' and give an optimum fabrication condition and high quality control. Coated layers on the fuel kernel are in the order of buffer pyrolytic carbon, inner pyrolytic carbon, silicon carbide and outer pyrolytic carbon layers, which average thicknesses are 95, 25, 30 and 28 ${\mu}m$, respectively. Their densities and hardnesses are 1.08, 1.15, 3.18, 1.82 $g/cm^3$ and 0.522, 0.874, 9.641, and 2.726 GPa, respectively. Comparing theoretical density of pyrolytic carbon of 2.22 $g/cm^3$, the relative amount of porosity in each layer is about 52% for buffer, 48% for inner PyC and 18% for outer PyC.

  • Pyrolytic carbon (PyC) layers were deposited using methane. The PyC layer deposited with 5% methane showed highly textured graphite, while that deposited using 100% methane showed low textured graphite. The degrees of anisotropy of the carbon layers were measured using an X-ray diffractometer, a transmission electron microscope, and a Raman spectroscope, and the results were compared with those reported previously. The orientation angles obtained from the fast Fourier transformation of the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy images and the ID/IG intensity ratios obtained from the Raman spectra were used to evaluate the anisotropy of the PyC layers.

  • At the low temperature of $950^{\circ}C$ the $\mu\textrm{m}$-sized whisker growth during the catalytic CVD of pyrolytic carbon from methane with $H_2$- and Ar-gas on quartz substrate with NiO powder was found in this work. In the preliminary study it was observed from pure methane pyrolysis without catalyst at the high temperature $1500~1700^{\circ}C$. If the growth whisker should be stopped at initial stage, about 20 min. of the methane pyrolysis, it would be nanosized whisker growth. The screw growth mechanism and unique mechanical properties of whisker for composites were also recognized. If the pyrolysis would be continued, we could found also spiral growth of whistlers with diameter of about 1, 5 mm. The large length of whisker was about 10 cm in 20 minute.

  • The characteristic of pyrolytic carbon deposited in a fluidized bed as measured by density apparent crystallite size and viewed metallographically under polarized light can be easily controlled by adjusting the deposition parameters such as deposition temperature and propane flow rate or silicon content. The density of isotopic pyrolytic carbons deposited from propane between 120$0^{\circ}C$ and 140$0^{\circ}C$ increases with increasing propane flow rate and decreasing deposition temperature from 1, 73g/cc to 2.08g/cc. The apparent crystallite size Lc parameter appears to depend only on deposition temperature being entirely independent of the propane flow rate. The carbon matrix density of the silicon-alloyed carbonds deposited from propane and methyltrichlorosil-ane from 2.05g/cc for a silicon content around 9wt% to 2.67g/cc for a silicon content of 36.7wt% The Lc parameter of the deposition temperature being entirely independent of the silicon content.

  • 최근 국내에서도 관 동맥 질환 환자의 수가 급증하고 있으며, 관 동맥 질환의 치료 방법인 관 동맥 성형 술은 관 동맥 stent의 도입에 의하여 보편화되어 국내에서 년간 5000개 이상의 stent가 시술되고 있다. 그러나 stent는 고가(1,200천원/개)로 전량 수입에 의존하고 있으며, 시술 후 사망까지 이를 수 있는 혈전에 의한 급성 페쇠와 재 협착이 문제점이다. 이를 위한 한가지 방법이 생체 적합성이 뛰어난 복합 stent의 개발인데 SiC나 Carbon을 coating한 stent는 시술 후 혈전 형성을 억제하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 특히 가장 순수한 Pyrolytic carbon은 hemocompatibility가 탁월하고 기밀 성이기 때문에 본 연구에서 그의 CVB-Kinetics를 연구코저 하는 것이다. methane으로부터 pyrolytic carbon의 CVD는 온도에 따라서 다양한 구조를 가지며 따라서 그의 mechanism도 다양하다는 것은 잘 알려져 있다. 더구나 광간(균질)반응과 표면(불균질)반응의 정량적 관계에 따라서도 다르다는 것도 확인되었다. 그러나 stainless steel 316L로 만든 stent는 12 - 15 %의 Ni과 2%의 Mo을 함유해서 금속성을 잃지 않는 저온(600℃)에서도 pyrolytic carbon의 속매적 CVD가 가능함을 그리고 SiC의 코팅에 적합한 buffer layer 역할을 함을 확인하였다. 그리하여 본 연구는 반응기 설계에 필요한 저온 촉매적 pyrolytic carbon의 CVD-kinetics의 연구결로 그의 mechanism과 함께 rate law 식을 유도, 확인하였으며 600℃, 90kPa에서 P/sub ch4//P/sub H2/=5:1과 체류시간 1.8 sec가 최적임을 발견하였다. 이때 석출속도 11.2 g-mol/g-cat.h 혹은 두께속도로 73 nm/sec를 나타내었다.메타놀-물 (1 : 1) 유출액에서 $(0.80\;{\mu}g)$ 검출되었다. 하면 morey eel내장에서 얻은 독물질도 DEAE-셀루로즈에서 ST-1 과 ST-2로 나누어지며, 이 ST-1의 TLC, HPLC 및 알루미나 컬럼상의 거동이 파랑비늘돔에서 얻은 ST-1의 그것과 같으므로 scaritoxin으로 보고한 ST-1은 ciguatoxin의 형태인 less polar cigutoxin (LPCTX) 으로 생각된다.에서 각각 대조구의 57, 413 및 315% 증진되었다. 거품의 열안정성은 15분 whipping시, pH 4.0(대조구, 30.2%) 및 5.0(대조구, 23.7%)에서 각각 $0{\sim}38.0$$0{\sim}57.0%$이었고 pH 7.0(대조구, 39.6%) 및 8.0(대조구, 43.6%)에서 각각 $0{\sim}59.4$$36.6{\sim}58.4%$이었으며 sodium alginate 첨가시가 가장 양호하였다. 전체적으로 보아 거품안정성이 높은 것은 열안정성도 높은 경향이며, 표면장력이 낮으면 거품형성능이 높아지고, 비점도가 높으면 거품안정성 및 열안정성이 높아지는 경향이 있었다.protocol.eractions between application agents that are developed using different languages.   • The properties of pyrolytic carbon (PyC) deposited from $C_2H_2$ and a mixture of $C_2H_2/C_3H_6$ on $ZrO_2$ particles in a fluidized bed reactor were studied by adjusting the deposition temperature, reactant concentration, and the total gas flow rate. The effect of the deposition parameters on the properties of PyC was investigated by analyzing the microstructure and density change. The density could be varied from $1.0\;g/cm^3$ to $2.2\;g/cm^3$ by controlling the deposition parameters. The density decreased and the deposition rate increased as the deposition temperature and reactant concentration increased. The PyC density was largely dependent on the deposition rate irrespective of the type of the reactant gas used.

Pyrolytic Carbon Coating on A Simulated Fuel by Fluidized Bed Type Chemical Vapour Deposition

  • Pyrolytic carbon layer was coated on A1203 balls by fluidized bed type chemical vapour deposition unit to develop the coating technology for the preparation of coated nuclear fuel. The deposition was carried out at the temperature ranges between 110$0^{\circ}C$ and 130$0^{\circ}C$ with various gas contents and flow rates. Source and carrier gas were propane and argon, respectively. X-ray analysis shows that the deposition layer was typical carbon spectra. The growth rate of carbon layer depended on the amount of source gas and the deposition temperature. For the alumina balls with 2mm in diameter, the deposition rate was 11${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/hr in the flow gases containing 30% source gas at 130$0^{\circ}C$ with a total flow rate of 2.0$\ell$/min. Microstructural observation of the deposits with scanning electron microscope revealed that the deposits had relatively dense and isotropic structure. Chemical analysis by energy dispersive spectroscopy showed that the layer was pure carbon.

  • Tristructural-isotropic (TRISO)-coated particles were fabricated by a fluidized-bed chemical vapor deposition (FBCVD) method for use in a very high temperature gas-cooled reactor (VHTR). ZrC as a constituent layer of TRISO coating layers was deposited by a chloride process using $ZrCl_4$ and $CH_4$ source gases in a temperature range of $1400^{\circ}C$ and $1550^{\circ}C$. The change in the microstructure of ZrC depending on the deposition temperature and its effect on the hardness were evaluated. As the deposition temperature increased to $1500^{\circ}C$, the grain size of the ZrC increased and the hardness of the ZrC decreased according to the Hall-Petch relationship. However, at $1550^{\circ}C$, the ZrC layer was highly non-stoichiometric and carbon-rich and did not obey the Hall-Petch relationship in spite of the decrease of the grain size. A considerable amount of pyrolytic carbon at the grain boundaries of the ZrC as well as coarse granular pyrolytic carbon were locally distributed in the ZrC layer deposited at $1550^{\circ}C$. Therefore, the hardness decreased largely due to the formation of a large amount of pyrolytic carbon in the ZrC layer.

Recovery of Available Resource from Waste Polymer using Thermal Degradation Process (고분자 폐가물의 열분해공정에서 유효자원의 회수)

  • Commercial rubber(IR, NR, BR), SBR, and tire were degraded by thermal degradation process. The oil yield of rubbers and tire ranges about 37~86%, it was increased with increase of operation temperature in pyrolysis. And the yield of pyrolytic oil was increased with increase of heating rate. The maximum oil yields of IR, NR, BR, SBR, and tire were 80, 73, 83, 86 and 55% each at $700^{\circ}C$ with a heating rate of $20^{\circ}C$/min, respectively. The pyrolytic oil components were consisted of about 50 aromatic compounds. The calorific value of purolytic oil of commercial rubber, SBR, and tire was measured by calorimeter, it was 39~40 kJ/g. The BET surface area of pyroblack was $47~63m^2/g$. The optimum condition of pyrolysis was operating temperature of $700^{\circ}C$ with heating rate of $20^{\circ}C$. Therefore, the pyrolytic oil and pyroblack are possible to alternative fuel and carbon black.
