Implementation of the single channel adaptive noise canceller using TMS320C30 (TMS320C30을 이용한 단일채널 적응잡음제거기 구현)

  • In this paper, we focus on the real time implementation of the single channel adaptive noise canceller(ANC) by using TMS320C30 EVM board. The implemented single channel adaptive noise canceller is based on a reference paper [1] in which it is simulated by using the recursive average magnitude difference function(AMDF) to get a properly delayed input speech on a sample basis as a reference signal and normalized least mean square(NLMS) algorithm. To certify results of the real time implementation, we measured the processing time of the ANC and enhancement ratio according to various signalto-noise ratios(SNRs). Experimental results demonstrate that the processing time of the speech signal of 32ms length with delay estimation of every 10 samples is about 26.3 ms, and almost the same performance as given in [1] is obtained with the implemented system.

  • A two-dimensional laminar flow through a channel, on which a couple of symmetric vertical fins are attached, is investigated. The stokes flow for this channel flow is investigated analytically and laminar flow numerically. For analytic solution, the method of eigen function expansion and collocation method are employed. For numerical solution, finite difference method(FDM) is used to obtain vorticity and stream function. From the results, streamline patterns are shown and the pressure drop due to the attached fins is calculated, which depends on the length of fins and Reynolds number. While $Re, streamline pattern is symmetric, a pair of additional asymmetric solutions appear for $Re>Re_c$, where the critical Reynolds number $Re_c$ depends on the length of the fin.

  • lateral insulated gate bipolar transistors(LIGBTs) are extensively used in high voltage power IC application due to their low forward voltage drops. One of the main disadvantages of the LIGBT is its scow switching speed when compared to the LDMOSFET. And the LIGBT with reverse channel structure is lower current capability than the conventional LIGBT at the forward conduction mode. In this paper, the LIGBT which included p+ ring and p-channel gate is presented at the reverie channel structure. The presented LIGBT structure is proposed to suppress the latch up, efficiently and to improve the turn off time. It is shown to improve the current capability too. It is verified 2-D simulator, MEDICI. It is shown that the latch up current of new LIGBT is 10 times than that of the conventional LIGBT Additionally, it is shown that the turn off characteristics of the proposed LIGBT is i times than that of the conventional LIGBT. It is net presented the tail current of turn off characteristics at the proposed structure. And the presented LIGBT is not n+ buffer layer because it includes p channel gate and p+ ring.

Non-Overlapped Single/Double Gate SOI/GOI MOSFET for Enhanced Short Channel Immunity

  • In this paper we analyze the influence of source/drain (S/D) extension region design for minimizing short channel effects (SCEs) in 25 nm gate length single and double gate Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) and Germanium-on-Insulator (GOI) MOSFETs. A design methodology, by evaluatingm the ratio of the effective channel length to the natural length for the different devices (single or double gate FETs) and technology (SOI or GOI), is proposed to minimize short channel effects (SCEs). The optimization of non-overlapped gate-source/drain i.e. underlap channel architecture is extremely useful to limit the degradation in SCEs caused by the high permittivity channel materials like Germanium as compared to that exhibited in Silicon based devices. Subthreshold slope and Drain Induced Barrier Lowering results show that steeper S/D gradients along with wider spacer regions are needed to suppress SCEs in GOI single/double gate devices as compared to Silicon based MOSFETs. A design criterion is developed to evaluate the minimum spacer width associated with underlap channel design to limit SCEs in SOI/GOI MOSFETs.

Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics in Zigzag Channel Angles of Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers (지그재그채널 PCHE의 각도에 따른 열전달 및 압력강하특성)

  • The objectives of this paper are to study the characteristics of heat transfer and pressure drop of the zigzag channel PCHE using diffusion bonding technology by numerical analysis. PCHE of five types are designed, which are zigzag channel angle $180^{\circ}$, $160^{\circ}$, $140^{\circ}$, $120^{\circ}$ and $100^{\circ}$. The zigzag PCHE was numerically investigated for Reynolds number in a range of $150{\sim}800$. The temperatures of the hot side were performed at $80^{\circ}C$ while that of the cold side was conducted at $20^{\circ}C$. The results show that the performance of heat transfer rate for zigzag channel $100^{\circ}$ increases about 11.5% compared to that of zigzag channel $180^{\circ}$. On the other hand, the performance of pressure drop for zigzag channel $100^{\circ}$ is remarkably higher than that of zigzag channel $180^{\circ}$, about 1.4 times.

  • This paper proposes the 16-channel LED Driver IC for Full color LED display system. The proposed LED driver IC in this paper can draw current independent of temperature and supply voltage in each channel. Current flow in the channel is configurable via an external resistor. LED brightness is adjusted by 12-Bit PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) and 8-Bit DC(Dot Correction). A real-time monitoring of IC temperature ($130^{\circ}C/150^{\circ}C$) and LED status (open/short) is provided by LED driver IC and the user can receive warning and get information on problems. A 16-channel LED driver IC is produced using 0.35 um BCD process and the size is $2.5mm{\times}2.5mm$. In this paper, channel current characteristic and channel current control function were measured in order to verify am embodied 16-channel LED driver IC by producing a single IC test board.

  • We present the results of far-ultraviolet (FUV) observations of comet C/2001 Q4 (NEAT) obtained with Far-ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (FIMS) on board the Korean microsatellite STSAT-1, which operated at an altitude of 700 km in a sun-synchronous orbit. FIMS is a dual-channel imaging spectrograph (S channel 900-1150 ${\AA}$, L channel 1350-1750 ${\AA}$, ${\lambda}/{\Box}{\lambda}$ ~ 550) with large image fields of view (S: $4^{\circ}.0{\times}4'.6$, L: $7^{\circ}.5{\times}4'.3$, angular resolution 5'-10') optimized for the observation of diffuse emission of astrophysical radiation. Comet C/2001 Q4 (NEAT) was observed with a scanning survey mode when it was located around the perihelion between 8 and 15 May 2004. Several important emission lines were detected including S I (1425, 1474 ${\AA}$), C I (1561, 1657 ${\AA}$) and several emission lines of CO $A1{\cap}-X1{\sum}+$ system in the L channel. We estimated QCO = ($2.58\;{\pm}\;0.64)\;{\times}\;1028$ s-1 from the production rate of CO 1510 ${\AA}$. We obtained L-channel image which have map size of $5^{\circ}{\times}5^{\circ}$. The image was constructed for the wavelength band of L-channel (1350-1750 ${\AA}$).We also obtained radial profile of S I, C I, CO with line fitting from central coma.

  • This paper discusses the development of a computer program to analyze elastic local buckling stress based on Eurocode 3 Part 1.3 for the flange and web of cold-formed channel columns under compression at elevated temperatures. The high-temperature, stress-strain relationships of the steel used in this paper were determined according to Eurocode 3 Part 1.2. The critical temperatures and the elastic local buckling stresses of cold-formed channel columns under compression at elevated temperatures were analyzed with the computer program developed in this study. Analysis examples were given to show the applicability of the computer program.

  • A geometrically uniform code in AWGN channel has strong symmetry properties such as a) the distance profiles form codewords On C to all other codewords are all the same, and b) all Voronoi regions of codewords in C have the same shape. Such properties make the word error probability of geometrically uniform codes be transparent to the transmitted codeword. In this paper, we extend the geometrically uniform codes in AWGN channel to the geometrical uniform codes in fading channel with multiple transmit antennas.

  • This paper proposes a neural network algorithm for a channel assignment in cellular mobile communications. The proposed algorithm is developed base on hopfield neural network in order to minimize the number of channel without a confliction between cells. To compare the performance of the proposed algorithm, we used seven benchmark problems selected from kunz's and funabiki's papers. Experimental results show that the convergence times are reduced form 27% to 66% compared with Kunz's and funabiki's algorithm and vonvergence rates are improved to 100%.
