  • Binding the object-oriented programming language C++ with a database management system provides a persistency to C++ programming objects so that objects can persist after program termina~,on. In such a binding system, we can manage a persistent object same as that we use a transient object and also use database management facilities such as transaction management and concurrency control. This paper presents a method providing the persistency to C++ programming objects in the binding system. We propose an improved interface based on C++ binding of ODMG-97 and present the design and implementation technique of it. The proposed interface provides a seamless interface for creating objects of the persistent capable class. We can create a persistent object without its class name as we do not give a class name when creating a transient object. Also, we guarantee the type compatibilty between the obiect created in database and the obiect created in main memory.

  • Parallel architecture based on the von Neumann computation model has a limitation as a massively parallel architecture due to its inherent drawback of architectural features. The data-flow model of computation has a high programmability in software perspective and high scalability in hardware perspective. However, the practical programming and experimentaion of date-flow architectures are hardly available due to the absence of practical data-flow, we present a programming environment for performing the data-flow computation on conventional parallel machines in general, loosely compled multiprocessor system in particular. We build an emulator for tagged token data-flow architecture on the iPSC/2 hypercube, a loosely coupled multiprocessor system. The emulator is a shallow layer of software executing on an iPSC/2 system, and thus makes the iPSC/2 system work as a data-flow architecture from the programmer`s viewpoint. We implement various numerical and non-numerical algorithm in a data-flow assembler language, and then compare the performance of the program with those of the versions of conventional C language, Consequently, We verify the effectiveness of this programming environment based on the emulator in experimenting the data-flow computation on a conventional parallel machine.

  • As pact of a long-ranged project that aims at establishing database-theoretic semantics as a model of computational semantics, this presentation focuses on the development of a syntactic component for processing strings of words or sentences to construct semantic data structures. For design arid modeling purposes, the present treatment will be restricted to the analysis of some problematic constructions of Korean involving semi-free word order, conjunction arid temporal anchoring, and adnominal modification and antecedent binding. The present work heavily relies on Hausser's (1999, 2000) SLIM theory for language that is based on surface compositionality, time-linearity arid two other conditions on natural language processing. Time-linear syntax for natural language has been shown to be conceptually simple and computationally efficient. The associated semantics is complex, however, because it must deal with situated language involving interactive multi-agents. Nevertheless, by processing input word strings in a time-linear mode, the syntax cart incrementally construct the necessary semantic structures for relevant queries and valid inferences. The fragment of Korean syntax will be implemented in Malaga, a C-type implementation language that was enriched for both programming and debugging purposes arid that was particluarly made suitable for implementing in Left-Associative Grammar. This presentation will show how the system of syntactic rules with constraining subrules processes Korean sentences in a step-by-step time-linear manner to incrementally construct semantic data structures that mainly specify relations with their argument, temporal, and binding structures.

  • A Database is a collection of data that does not have redundancy, and it is essential to easily use and share information in an information society where the amount of information is increasing. A typical structure of a Database is a relational database and a tree-structure Database. This research studies the programming language MUMPS, which is a tree structure database. This language constructs the database by storing arrays in a dynamic or B-Tree format. Unlike SQL, which must be used in languages such as Java and C #, MUMPS supports language and database independently and can manage data, so the data porting rate is high. In fact, in U.S. hospitals, the MUMPS-based platform has a high market share.

  • This paper aims at exploring how a high school student is engaged with C computer programming language and explore deep aspects of programming experiences based on video recalled interview as part of portraiture. The single case was selected and several in-depth interviews and video recording were arranged after Oct 2011. The portrait of K reveals interesting strands of his computer programming experiences with his own thinking patterns and exploring ideas for more concrete ways of coding his thinking similar to scientific experiments; ie, design-development-implementation-debugging-revision. Overall, this case illustrates how the inner aspects of subjective programming experiences on the tower of Hanoi were integrated and unified within himself for inner growth. We discussed the student's inner faculties as part of the student's unity and suggested future research direction.

  • The standard Java class library does not support the platform-dependent features needed by the application. Therefore, the Java application including the platform -dependent features must supplement the required features by invoking native functions using JNI. The native language programmer has to explicitly specify how to connect to various Java objects and later to disconnect from them. In this paper, I suggest a way to avoid these annoying works. The native method in the pure java class can not contain a native code block. By providing a native code block for the native method, it is possible for programmer to write a native code without being aware of JNI. To achieve this, I introduced the native class that is a java class on the native environment, and made it possible to interchange data by placing an arbitrator between the java class and the native class.

  • Recently, a variety of AI-based platform services are available, and one of them is ChatGPT that processes a large quantity of data in the natural language and generates an answer after self-learning. ChatGPT can perform various tasks including software programming in the IT sector. Particularly, it may help generate a simple program and correct errors using C Language, which is a major programming language. Accordingly, it is expected that ChatGPT is capable of effectively using Verilog HDL, which is a hardware language created in C Language. Verilog HDL synthesis, however, is to generate imperative sentences in a logical circuit form and thus it needs to be verified whether the products are executed properly. In this paper, we aim to select small-scale logical circuits for ease of experimentation and to verify the results of circuits generated by ChatGPT and human-designed circuits. As to experimental environments, Xilinx ISE 14.7 was used for module modeling, and the xc3s1000 FPGA chip was used for module embodiment. Comparative analysis was performed on the use area and processing time of FPGA to compare the performance of ChatGPT products and Verilog HDL products.

Abstract Attribute grammars are a formal notation which expresses the static semantics of programming languages, but they are not suitable for expressing dynamic semantics. To describe dynamic semantics and implement a specified language, we extend attribute grammars and present new action equations which describe static and dynamic semantics. The incremental interpreter of a SIMP language is designed and implemented from the dynamic semantics of presented action equations. The incremental interpreter is to translate only modified part in the language-based programming environments and have results of whole program. Our interpreter is implemented in C with Lex and Yacc on SUN 1000. When we execute example programs, the incremental evaluation of any assignment and IF statements executes efficiently. But in the case of loop, we execute efficiently when the effected statements to be reexecuted in the loop are of small number.
