Seller Recommendation for Comparison Shopping (비교쇼핑을 위한 판매자 추천 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In a buyer seller transaction process, "value for money" is one of the most important criteria for a buyer's purchasing decision. The terms "value" and "money" represent a composite measure of what a buyer receives from goods and/or services and a measure of what he/she pays for them, respectively. The purpose of this paper is to help buyers select the best seller in terms of value for money. We suggest DEA models for buyer seller transactions and apply them to the case of an Internet comparison shopping site in Korea. We expect our DEA models to provide valuable information for rational buyers who want to pay the least price for high quality products/services. Moreover, we expect that our models can help sellers be more competitive by showing them how to attract buyers.

A Study on the Effect of Returned Clothes Via On-line Sales on Their Brands (온라인상(上)에서 의류제품(衣類製品)의 반품(返品) 경험(經驗)이 브랜드에 대(對)한 태도(態度)에 미치는 영향(影響) 연구(硏究))

  • On-line clothes sale are on the increase, and the returns(for replacements or refunds) of the clothes are also increasing. Many studies on off-line consumers' complaints were made before, but few studies on the returns of clothes sold on-line have been made. From this viewpoint, this study was conducted to know what effect returns of clothes sold on-line have on their brands. Therefore, this study was first focused on the factors affecting complaint acts(return intention or return acts) such as lack of information and recognition of product, delivery errors and product defects concerning on-line sales, and second investigated the changes of buyers' attitude toward the brand following the their acts of returning the buyers, and third looked into the changes of on-line buyers' attitude toward the brand. The study is carried out by subdividing the objects of the study into return action(replacement, refundment) and purchasers who experienced return intention. Such experience is demonstratively analyzed to find how it has affected the attitude toward the brand. The study comes up with the following outcomes. First, the effect factor causing complaint action(return action, return intention) on-line is shown as the lack of the information and recognition of the product. Second, it is revealed that the effect factor causing complaint(return action, return intention) does not lie in an error in delivery or a defect of a product. Third, the positive response of a brand to a return action does not raise the repurchasing intention and positive attitude of purchasers who experienced returning a product, but lowers their private complaint action intention. Fourth, the repurchase intention of purchasers who experienced return intention for the brand is lowered, but their negative attitude and private complaint action intention is not raised.

A Study on the Development of Levying Garage Option on Car Buyers Policy Compliance Model (차고지증명제정책 순응모형 구축에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, factors influencing the parking policy compliance (i.e. levying a garage option on car buyers) were identified, and then, were applied to the theory of planned behavior. To find out the influence of factors and their path, the study built a parking policy compliance model using structural equation modeling. The independent variables such as attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control had positive effects on the parameter describing the efforts to secure his garage, but the parameter impact on the dependent variable was not significant. In the end, the independent variables affected the dependent variable was not significant. The perceived behavioral control utilizing regulations had positive effects on the parking policy compliance behavior, but past behavior such as street parking and prowling to find a free parking space had a negative effect on parking policy compliance behavior.

Chatting-based Commerce Platform Enabling Non-Volatile Social Curation Service (비휘발적 소셜 큐레이션 서비스가 가능한 대화형 상거래 플랫폼 개발)

  • The social curation service that selectively provides information generated by individuals or groups with the same interests can have a synergistic effect when combined with the recently used SNS-based chatting function. If these kinds of chatting-based curation technologies are applied to the Internet shopping malls, particularly, buyers can obtain more reliable information in real time basis, and sellers can provide them with more differentiated and rich information in a continuous manner. This research suggests a chatting-based commerce platform that provides the social curation service based on chats among sellers, existing buyers, and potential buyers. The proposed commerce platform can organize a chat channel for each store and product not only to immediately respond to new and existing customer inquiries about stores, brands, and detailed products, but also to continuously activate differentiated sales strategies to customers subscribed to the channel. In particular, MongoDB is used to permanently save and archive the information and chatting history of each channel, so that the buyer can search and refer to them recorded in the corresponding channel at any time.

  • Unlike the general buyer-supplier relationship, there are cases wherein the bargaining power of suppliers is greater than that of buyers. This relationship can be found especially in the shipbuilding industry. Thus, this paper focused on strategic items presented in Kraljic's study. The purpose of this study was to examine factors influencing buyers' purchase of strategic items in a market wherein the bargaining power of suppliers is superior. Results show that the path coefficient between environment factor and satisfaction factor was the highest. Additionally, the path coefficient between environment factor and reliability factor was the next highest. Also, as a result of analyzing if there is a difference in perception according to the superiority and inferiority of bargaining power perceived by buyers, significant results were found in some path coefficients.

  • This study is to investigate the problem of credit rating by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation(KSURE) which evaluates overseas buyers in a state of capital impairment as G-grade regardless of the cause of capital impairment. This study classifies capital impairment into two types: deficit-type capital impairment due to accumulated operating losses and surplus-type capital impairment due to shareholder return policies such as dividends and treasury stock buybacks. It is proposed to improve the credit evaluation method on companies with surplus capital impairment from a formal review to a substantive review. This study is expected to improve credit rating of KSURE on overseas buyers for better support of trade credit insurance for exporters.

The Influences of Chinese Interpersonal Culture on Counterfeit Brand (중국인의 타인의식형 집단문화와 위조명품 브랜드 구매행동)

  • The Chinese counterfeits has begun to gain great attention recently because of the drastic increase in its volume. The consumption of counterfeit harms to manufacturer who spend millions of dollars to create and develop new product. The counterfeits in Chinese can cause international dispute and lower national reputation. The purpose of this study were to examine if the buyers of counterfeits tend to care more about interpersonal relationship than non-buyers among Chinese. Data were gathered by surveying Chinese consumer living in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou metropolitan area using convenient sampling, and 480 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. In analyzing data, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, structural equation modeling with AMOS were conducted. The results of this study were follows, first, attitude toward counterfeits was classified into three factors such as interpersonal relationship, perception, and involvement. It is general belief that attitudes toward counterfeits were correlated with on brand attachment, however this study show that the buyers of counterfeits tended to purchase counterfeit goods as more alternatives of genuine(original) product than non-buyers. Perhaps, the buyers of counterfeits tended to have lower consumer ethics than non-buyers because they value counterfeit high. It is generally accepted that both a producer and a buyer violate the laws, but they are rather generous for buyer. The results of this study suggest consumers' attitude towards counterfeit need to be changed, following consumer education and strict law enforcement. Based on these results, global brand marketing strategies for luxury goods were suggested.

How to Recommend Online Shopping Consumers the Best of Many Sellers? : Online Seller Recommendation System Using DEA Method (DEA 방법론을 이용한 온라인 판매자 추천 시스템의 구축)

  • In a buyer-seller transaction process, 'value for money,' a measure of quality-price-ratio, is one of the most important criteria for buyers' purchasing decisions. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a method which helps online shoppers choose the best of several sellers offering homogeneous goods. We suggest FDH (free disposal hull) model, an applied model of data envelopment analysis (DEA), for online buyer-seller transactions and verify it with the data from an Internet comparison shopping site. For this purpose, we analyze consumer choice behaviors by examining how consumers respond to different sale conditions such as price, brand, or delivery time. Then, we implement a seller recommendation system to support buyers' purchasing decisions. We expect our FDH model to provide valuable information for rational buyers who want to pay the least price for high quality products/services and to be used in implementing automated evaluation processes in micro transactions. Moreover, we expect that our results can be utilized for sellers' benchmarking strategies which help sellers be more competitive by showing them how to attract buyers.

  • The e-marketplace is a virtual marketplace where buyers and sellers meet in order to conduct transactions through the intermediation of market-makers. For the success of an e-marketplace, it is crucial for the market-maker to induce both buyers and sellers to make active transactions in it. However, their participation is frequently deterred by potential risk factors caused mainly by the inherent, structural complexity of the e-marketplace. Therefore, it is a critical challenge for the market-maker to identify and manage the transactional risk perceived by both the buyers and sellers. In this paper, we investigate the sources of buyers' and sellers' perceived risks and their mitigating factors in the e-marketplace. Specifically, we derive an analysis framework based on the economic theory of agency relationship. The framework includes four sources of the risks(perceived information asymmetry, fears of seller opportunism, fears of buyer opportunism, and concerns about market-maker's role incompleteness) and five mitigators of the risks(website informativeness, trust in market-maker, trust in seller, product diagnosticity, and social presence). Then, we empirically verify the framework through a case study on four successful e-marketplaces, and provide implications and strategies for the market-maker to effectively manage the transactional risks.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce the Levying Garage Option on Car Buyers which has become operative firstly in Korea, and to suggest the way to activate the system, hearing the view of Jeju residents with positive and negative function of parking. Levying Garage Option on Car Buyer is the system to apply a law for establishing garages to all of vehicles. Especially this is proposed to correct the disorder of Local street night parking, to improve the fine view of street, and to recover the original function of street to residents. To make this system successful there should be separate solutions at the densely built up area as a result of survey. This study conduct the Logistic Regression Analysis for and against the system. If the more residents approve the system, we should concern about the several solutions such as easing the distance between the garage and street, regulating, and special plan for an apartment house, etc. The suggestions are as follows. First, the policy needs to ease the distance between the garage and street gradually. Second, the Jeju government need to offer the residents the incentive such as reduce or exempt the tax and make them establish the private parking lot with supplying the low interest loan. Third, there should be connected with the project to break up the fences of their houses.
