  • Korean mobile telecommunications market is shifting from 2G to 3G service. Considering the revenue of voice-based communication has reached its maximum, 3G services can provide telecommunication companies with the opportunity to increase their revenues. As the competition in the market is becoming fierce, mobile carriers are trying to increase their profits by preventing their customers from switching to rivals. In this regard, managing customer can be a key success factor of the mobile telecommunications business by retaining existing customer. In this research, we tried to develop and test a model that aids further understanding of the determinants of continuance intention to use the current 3G service. We conducted empirical study through the analysis of 3G service users' data in Korea. The results indicated that continuance intention to use the current 3G is dependent on the customer's satisfaction with the service quality, handset, and brand image. We hope that analysis results will have significant implications in terms of both practical and theoretical aspects.

  • The purpose of this paper id to study the factors influencing MIS user satisfaction. For this purpose. I have reviewed the results of past studies on the performance factor of MIS, and introduced a new model associated with small & Medium Business. On the basis of this model, I have hypothesized that the following variables influence user satisfaction : (gender, age), individual characteristics(user attitude, training for user), managerial characteristic(top management involvement, organizational support) and task characteristics(task structure). There were 195 participants surveyed using questionnaires from 25 different small & medium Business in Pusan. The research model and associated hypotheses were tested by following statistical techniques: reliability test, regression, t-test and ANOVA. The findings of this study are follows; 1. It was found that gender and age are not correlated user satisfaction. 2. Among individual characteristics, only user attitude influence user satisfaction significantly. 3. While organizational supports influence positively user satisfaction, top management involvement do not influence it. 4. Task structure is highly correlated with user satisfaction. In spite of many factors affecting MIS success, this study did not consider all variables affect on user satisfaction. We need integrated model including more various factors.

  • Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems offer pervasive business functionality the applications encompass virtually all aspects of the business. Understanding and managing this pervasiveness will result in a successful and productive business application platform. Because of this pervasiveness, implementations have ranged from great successes to complete failures. This article has two distinctive parts. The first proposes and discusses a systematic process based on consulting experiences of LG CNS (leading information system company in Korea) for ERP selection. Also, the second provides the key factors that are critical to the successful implementation of ERP. The second part reports the results of a study carried out to assess a number of different ERP implementations in different organizations. A case study method of investigation was used, and the experiences of five Korean manufacturing companies were documented. The critical factors in the adoption of ERP are identified as: learning from the experiences of others, appointment of a process innovator, establishment of committees and project teams, training and technical support for the users, and appropriate changes to the organizational structure and managerial responsibilities.

  • This paper aims to analyze the competitiveness of the Korean Deep-sea Fisheries firms in the firm level. The extant researches on this topic have been done mainly in the macro-or industry-level perspectives and depended on the quantitative analyses using the aggregated data. The results of these researches are useful to figure out the main features of the industy, however, hardly give any implications on the strategic or competitiveness-related problems in the firm level. To accomplish the research purposes this study analyzes the competitiveness of the Korean Fisheries firms on the value chain scheme using qualitative tools. Specifically this paper focuses on the industry competition characteristics, key success factors, the competitiveness, and the supporting systems and policies of the Korean Government. Data are gathered by questionaire and analyzed by factor analysis and Kruska-Wallis one-way ANOVA. The results shows that the competitiveness of the Korean Deep-sea Fisheries firms is not behind the foreign competitors. However the resource securing, the market development, R&D investment are the main obstacles to the firms. The governmental supports are kedined to improve the competitiveness of the Korean Deep-sea Fisheries firms.

  • The objective of this study is to prioritize the Total Quality Management (TQM) factors based on fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in Vietnamese supporting industries. Through an in-depth literature review, eight criteria were identified. These criteria were then divided into 32 sub-criteria. The fuzzy AHP is used to determine the percent weightings of eight categories of performance criteria that were identified via a review of the quality-management literature. These criteria include management commitment, role of the quality department, training and education, continuous improvement, quality policies, quality data and reporting, communication to improve quality, and customer satisfaction orientation. An empirical analysis of the criteria of each stage using the fuzzy AHP methodology and the expert opinion of quality management are used to evaluate the percent weightings of the criteria and sub-criteria that are synonymous with TQM implementation. The results showed that management commitment is the most critical factor; among sub-criteria, supports and responsibilities of top management is the most important. The study also identified the rank order of critical success factors of TQM. The findings suggest a generic hierarchy model for organizations to prioritize the critical factors and formulate strategies for implementing TQM in supporting industries, as well as other industries in Vietnam.

  • Purpose - This present aims to analyze the effect of export modes on initial export amount and time to export by selecting export modes among various success strategies and factors. Research design, data, and methodology - It surveyed 980 small and mid-sized venture enterprises across Korea. The export modes and its impact on exports through frequency analysis and cross analysis, and validated through a PPML(regression analysis applied the enterprise growth model) analysis. • With the introduction to ebXML and web service related standards, enterprises struggle to adapt to the rapidly evolving technology to meet the complex needs of the enterprise customer. The ability to integrate and interoperate individual services within enterprise and with other enterprise's information technology infrastructure using standard-based business processes is an important element of business process management system. For over 25 years EDI has established VAN based solution of exchanging business information in electronic form. However EDI solutions are only accessible to large organizations due to the cost factor. Moreover lack of well accepted B2B business process standards is hindering the success of promoting interoperability between organizations of any size. ebXML work is focused on defining the standard B2B business process context and its runtime semantics in order to remove these hindrances. However ebXML framework does not recommend any particular implementation model to interact with enterprise internal system. This paper propose a end to end business process management architecture by applying ebXML in the front end of the enterprise system and using BPEL to integrate front end services into related services within enterprise.

  • Since management of information resources is getting more complicated in the distributed, heterogeneous computing environment, the capability of monitoring and controlling the dispersed information resources is perceived as a critical success factor for the effective enterprise-wide information resource management. Integrated Control Architecture(ICA) provides that capability. Utilizing such architecture, we can manage corporate information resources more efficiently, perform impact analysis for changes in information resources, and alleviate the human effort by automating the monitoring of critical information resources. In this paper, we propose a conceptual framework and metamodel of ICA.

The second one is that CEO tries to set and lead pro-knowledge management corporate culture. The fourth one has something to do with a way of knowledge creation, for example, a suggestion system and QC circle. Meanwhile, infra-structure factors, such as leadership, organization, personnel management, educational system, etc., are also important to safely implant the Six Sigma into the whole enterprise and to thoroughly create the culture of innovation and enterprise. Careful analysis of those elements makes it possible to draw common connection between Project Management and the Six Sigma. This study drives the success elements for the successful adoption of the Six Sigma in the Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., of which management was evaluated as one of the tops based on the results of 2007 Management Innovation Assessment and arranges the similarity of like this factor and Enterprise Project Management. The results of this study are expected to provide a useful guideline for the adoption of the Six Sigma in whole company level.
