Case Prediction in BPM Systems : A Research Challenge

  • The capabilities ofBusiness Process Management Systems (BPMS's) are continuously extended to increase theeffectiveness of the management and enactment of business processes. This paper identifies the challenge ofcase prediction, which for a specific case under the control of a BPMS deals with the estimation of the remaining time until it is completed. An accurate case prediction facility is a valuable tool for the operationalcontrol of business processes, as it enables the pre-active monitoring of time violations. Little research has beencarried out in this area and few commercial tools support case prediction. This paper lists the requirements onsuch a facility and sketches sonae directions to reach a solution. To illustrate the depth of the problem, a smallaspect of the problem is treated in more detail. It involves the complex relations between tasks and resources inbusiness processes, which makes an exact analytical approach mfeasible.

  • Local government has constructed GIS DB for efficient business achievement and effective management of complex city facilities and has been developing and utilizing application systems, such as Underground Facility Management System Road Management System and so on. However, Facility Management System is providing functions for business, but not for GIS DB's maintenance. City facilities GIS DB managed by GIS technical expert collects basic figure and attribute information through survey and field investigation and is constructed via complex process, such as structurize editing etc. So it has been concerned that the update and confidence of CIS DB can be lower if a business man who does not have enough experiences about Facility Management System operates it by himself. Therefore, functions that enable business users to operate Facility Management System easily should be provided.

AThe Effects of Public Loan Programs in Fishery Industry on Management Performance and Credit Rating Change from a BSC perspective (BSC관점에서 수산정책자금이 경영성과와 신용등급 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the difference of the effects of public loan programs in fishery industry on management performance from a balanced score card (BSC) perspective depending on the type of loan, scale of fund, period of support and business category, using the financial data of fisheries firms having the balance of loan at the end of 2014. The key factors influencing credit rating change were also analyzed after public loan support. From a integrative perspective, results show that the firms supported by working fund have higher management performance than the firms supported by facility fund. The firms received large scale fund showed higher management performance than the firms received small scale fund. While management performance was decreasing or slowing down over time after financial support, management performance of the firms supported by facility fund improved over time. From a non-financial perspective, the firms received facility fund invested more in education and growing perspective than the firms received working fund. As the size of fund increased, the investment in education, growing, internal process and customer increased. Personnel expenses and employee benefits for education and growing has increased over time. However, the firms with facility fund restricted the expenses of education, personnel expenses and employee benefits as time goes by. Because the effects of public loan on credit rating of fisheries corporations have no statistical significance, it has become known that the financial support of public loan program has no influence on the change of credit rating of fisheries corporations. This study attempted performance analysis from a BSC perspective which combine factors of non-financial perspective with factors of financial perspective. Findings from this study suggest the direction of microscopic performance analysis of public loan in fishery industry.

Improvement for Classification System of Building Use on Neighborhood Living Facility (근린생활시설 용도분류체계 개선방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present improvement for classification system of current neighborhood living facility to correspond rapid social change and various industries after understanding its status and problem. In current Building Standard Law, various kinds of buildings are classified for their structure, purpose of use, and building types. The Neighborhood Living Facility is divided into First Neighborhood Living Facility and Second Neighborhood Living Facility with applying area standards, according to facilities of convenience degree for neighborhood inhabitants. This classification, however, has problem in an arbitrary decision and applying of buildings without any definition or standards to adopt. And, there are some mixed neighborhood public functional facilities and amusement business affecting public morals among the Neighborhood Living Facility, so hazard environmental problems are also existed. According to the improved program, the study presents a prompt adoption of new facilities according to various industry increase, with minimum public discontent over adopted area standards. This study suggests making a clear scope through reclassification of Neighborhood Living Facility within the scope of the law on current Neighborhood Living Facility and an improvement plan of introducing necessary definitions on purpose of facility.

  • Recently, the magnitude and frequency of the natural disaster have been increased, the damage has become severer. The importance of disaster response system to relieve the damage has arised continuously. This study has tried to develop the algorithm to solve the facility location and size problem in emergency logistics. A facility in the emergency logistics has various roles in victim care, casualty treatment, relief resource management and relief vehicle assistance. Moreover, the location of facility in emergency logistics has to consider the safety and reliability. To gather these information, information management system with IoT sensors are suggested. The location problem in this study also covers various features to response various demands in disaster. To solve this problem, this study suggested MIP based algorithm. Scenario based simulation experiments are conducted to verify the performance suggested algorithm.

  • Until now, there were many BCMS case studies in financial sector based on best practices in BCP(Business Continuity Planning). However, the research on the standardized continuity management system framework that practically applicable to the private and public sectors-based national infrastructure and facilities management are relatively scarce. Therefore, in this study, we research to seek the continuity management system framework suitable for the private or public sector-based facility management through the comparison reviews of domestic and international continuity management system frameworks and the reviews of continuity management components considering the characteristic of the private or public sector-based facility management.

  • Enough school facility maintenance data should be accumulated in a database or data warehouse in order to supply information about school facility correct maintenance budget plan, budget assignment, and cycle and rate of maintenance or replacement. For those, this research analyze the present school facility maintenance practice and budget and construction cost structure. In order to solve the problems, this study analyze the present practice of maintenance and replacement and obtain LCC(Life cycle cost) data, perform expert interview and then establish construction work breakdown structure of maintenance of educational facility by combining work breakdown structure(WBS) and cost breakdown structure(CBS).

  • This paper is written for analyzing the history of the Korean game legislation system. The regulation system of amusement place business that is discussed in this paper was started at the Enforcement Rule of the Amusement Place Act of 1973. It was maintained till 1999 and comes under the quickening period of the current game legislation. The legal regulation of this times was accomplished through the Amusement Place Act, the Amusement Place Business Act and the Public Health Act. The amusement place business was differentiated into the athletics facility business, the amusement facility business and the game proffer business of current legislations. The game proffer business succeeds to the kernel of the regulation system of amusement place business. Therefore, The basis of the current game legislation was constituted in the times of the regulation system of amusement place business. Two cores of the regulation system of amusement place business, (1) the separation of the amusement instrument and the speculation, (2) the regulation of a place of business, are still the important issues of the current game legislation.

  • In recent society, great and small accidents have happened frequently, so the demands for safety have increased. As numerical increase of tourists who use the amusement facilities, many accidents owing to amusement facility has arisen. The goal of this study is that suggests the improvement plans for the safety management system of amusement facilities. In order to achieve the goal of study, legislations, industrial scale, accident situation, and others relating to amusement facility business were considered in a lot of ways. From a series of study results, improvement plans are suggested for safety inspection, accident compensation insurance, accident investigation, and others relating to amusement facility business.
