  • From the perspective of a post-industrial society, the main purpose of this study is to clarify the theoretical principles that distinguish service design from product service system (PSS) and to propose a new integrated design strategy. Service design is a user-centered design technique for improving or innovating existing services and solving problems in a continuous exploration and iteration process. On the other hand, PSS is a cutting-edge business approach for organizations looking to boost their competitiveness by providing integrated product and service capabilities to clients while also enhancing system operations. This paper discusses the concepts of service design and PSS, the present state of research, and design methodologies using a literature search. The distinctions between service design and PSS are examined and summarized during the design process. The ultimate content proposed in this study is to incorporate user experience into the PSS design process and propose a systematic process to meet users' needs to effectively implement the service design concept.

  • Purpose: Business agility is an important key to survival for SMEs in Indonesia, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesian local product distribution and service distribution are mostly served by SMEs. Agile businesses will be able to assist them in the proper distribution of products and services. This research examines how the direct and indirect influence of IT capabilities on business agility through organizational learning and business intelligence for small and medium enterprises in the distribution of Indonesian products and services. Research design, data and methodology: This research uses SEM method with SmartPLS tool. The sample of this research was conducted on small and medium enterprises in the distribution of Indonesian products and services. The sample obtained in this study was 202 SME owners or managers (strategic level). Results: Business intelligence plays a key role in improving business agility. The results of IT capability can directly and indirectly affect business agility through organizational learning. Conclusions: Business intelligence has the biggest role in increasing business agility in SMEs in Indonesia. IT capability has an indirect effect on business agility through organizational learning. • Those of the growth of e-business, the development of the cultural creative industry, the contents and knowledge industry have expanded and diversified the existing business models and created new ones. They are triggering new interpretations and discussions on business models. Such of changing business environment has paved the way for the expansion of design management within the design industry and opened new windows of opportunity for the traditionally small and non-specialized design business. Until now, the design business has not been distinguished from design industry or design service, and has not been viewed as an independent field. Rather, the design business has merely been part of a process. As such, the lack of dear definition and structured system had been a bottleneck for many design companies trying to achieve capital and social success and establish the foundation for growth and for companies striving to advance the design management in developing design business models or growth strategy in line with the changing environment. Against these sort of backdrops, this paper attempts to dearly define the design business. To this end, the paper tries to developed a design business model framework which classifies design business model into four types - customized, ready-made, provider and contract - according to the business activities between the producer and the end user, and business items into product, additional sonics, knowledge and promotion. The framework will expand the definition of design business and contribute to the expansion of design business activities and the development of diverse business models.

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm Customer Voluntary Performance as a new strategy that contributes to Service Quality and maintains customer Relationship, and to understand how Service Quality and Relationship Benefits on Customer Voluntary Performance. To pursue the above purposes, the experimental model showing the working process was designed like this: Service quality - Relationship Benefits - Customer Satisfaction - Relationship Quality - Customer Voluntary Performance. To accomplish the experimental study, questionnaire method was chosen and targeted women living seoul. 721 questionnaires were used in last analysis. SPSS 8.0 was used in analysis of data. The results show that (1)Customer satisfaction was affected by Service Quality and Relationship Benefits affirmatively; (2)Relationship Quality was affected by Customer Satisfaction, Service Quality, Relationship Benefit; (3)Customer Voluntary Performance was affected by Relationship Quality and Customer Satisfaction; (4)Service Quality and Relationship Benefits influenced on Customer Voluntary Performance. This study has a important meaning that it provides marketing strategy on satisfied relationship maintenance and customer satisfaction creation.

  • Purpose: This study examined how many determinant factors (service dimensions, food quality, and price perception) affect revisit intention. This practical concept is service quality (SERVQUAL), customer satisfaction, and repeated/revisit behavioral intention based on the theory of reasoned action (TRA). Research design, data and methodology: This research applied a hybrid mixed-method comprising exploratory and explanatory sequential design by Creswell (2014). The 400 responses were collected in four townships in Myanmar. This study drilled down to exploratory factor analysis (EFA) followed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) prior to test the hypothesized factor structure of all the variables resulted in the form of the goodness of fit. For further data analysis, structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied to test the relationships among the variables of the proposed model. Results: The results showed that perceived service quality, food quality, and price perception have direct effects on customer satisfaction and indirect effect on revisit intention. The perceived service quality has the most significant influence while the food quality has the least influence on customer satisfaction. Conclusions: The results are useful for the restaurant managers to better understand the significant strategic choice factors to improve higher quality service amongst restaurants both domestic and international under the stiff competition.

  • We propose a new generic design methodology for different types of PSS. Product - Service System (PSS) has received much attention recently from academia and industry because of its benefits. PSS can provide customers values and functionalities, as well as physical products, to fulfill economic, social and environmental goals. Many methodologies have been proposed for designing PSSs. Most of the existing methodologies are domain specific and were proposed to solve specific problems in certain projects. Some methodologies are generic but they provide neither guideline to practitioners and designers nor reflect the differences in various PSS types. As a generic approach to guide practitioners and designers in designing PSS effectively, the proposed methodology also takes into account user involvement, business model and organizational structure. The proposed methodology is demonstrated through design examples of different types of PSSs.
