Recently, most of the information system use environment is changing to GUI environment based on windows and web. Most of the development tools for building such a GUI-based information system support object-oriented and event-driven programming concepts. However, there is still a lack of a development methodology that systematically supports event-based information system construction. From a business perspective, an information system is one that supports business processes efficiently and effectively to improve business performance. These business processes are composed of business activities which involve a series of business events. A business event is executed according to a business scenario. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp these events in the requirements analysis stage and to apply it on the system development methodology. However, information systems development methodology which systematically reflect the event processing concept still is insufficient. From this viewpoint, this paper proposes an event-driven scenario-based development methodology that can meet the recent development environment of information systems, and applies the proposed methodology to a small scale information system development case.

As data exchange between business partners in e-business becomes more active, obtaining and managing reliable data is emerging as a pressing issue for corporations and organizations. For the resolution of data quality, this paper proposes a framework for data quality management with its scenario. The data quality management framework consists of three phases: data quality monitoring, data quality improvement and data application, each of which has three processes. In each process, necessity, functions, roles, and relationships among processes are specified. In order for users to directly apply the framework to the business field, a business scenario is given with examples of product identification and classification code systems widely used in e-business.

Scenarios are an effective tool for supporting a company to be successful in its increasingly complex, changing business environment. They are especialy effective in dealing with uncertainties. This paper show how business managers or supervisors can develop scenario-based business strategies. This is explained by the case study of MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) in Korean mobile service market. In addition, we discuss on theoretical background of scenario- based management and describe the integration of scenarios into process of strategic management. This includes specific methodological approaches to identify the key factors and logics for scenario building, to develop new strategies.

The scope of the problems that could be solved by monitoring and the improvement of the recognition time is directly correlated to the performance of the management function of the business process. However, the current monitoring process of business activities decides whether to apply warnings or not by assuming a fixed environment and showing expressions based on the design rules. Also, warnings are applied by carrying out the measuring process when the event attribute values are inserted at every point. Therefore, there is a limit for distinguishing the range of occurrence and the level of severity in regard to the new external problems occurring in a complicated environment. Such problems cannot be ed. Also, since it is difficult to expand the range of problems which can be possibly evaluated, it is impossible to evaluate any unexpected situation which could occur in the execution period. In this paper, a process-evaluating model based on the goal scenario is suggested to provide constant services through the current monitoring process in regard to the service demands of the new scenario which occurs outside. The new demands based on the outside situation are analyzed according to the goal scenario for the process activities. Also, by using the meta-heuristic algorithm, a similar process model is found and identified by combining similarity and interrelationship. The process can be stopped in advance or adjusted to the wanted direction.

This study describes the works on development of a scenario-based WBT system of electronic commerce to introduce and activate electronic commerce in our society because it is mostly required to correctly understand electronic commerce and timely educate its users and technicians for entering into global electronic commerce that binds every commercial area regardless of the borders and nationalities. This system, WBT(Web - Based Training of Electronic commerce), consists of two parts. The one part provides a general concept of EC. This is developed to meet the needs of beginner for EC. The other is a simulator for cyber shopping mall. It is designed for teaching how to shop at cyber shopping mall based on various scenarios. In addition, we can simulate ourselves for EDI, which enables trading partners to conduct routine business transaction, such as purchase orders, invoices and shopping notices with it. Our commitment to the development of this application is consistent with the objectives of being easy to learn electronic commerce and its applications in real world.

Effective Training has been recognized as one of the most important success factors for enterprise resource planning (ERP) system operations. However, both ERP system vendors and user companies have failed to provide an effective training method for users because practical business process cases cannot be formalized. Also, incomplete testing by ERP system vendors results in insufficient and ineffective user training. This paper suggests a scenario framework for ERP testing and training (SF-ETT). SF-ETT is constructed by expanding the practice-based ERP testing scenario construction framework designed for unERPII. SF-ETT contains concrete business process entities that users understand actually and provides practice definition, notation, and architecture.

The u-City construction project has become a hot topic in the construction market because it seems economic value-added field for construction firms. However, construction firms don't willingly participate in the u-City construction market because environments of the future business for the u-City are very uncertain. Scenario planning is a very powerful method in managing this uncertain planning situation and is based on scenarios that help each enterprise appropriately adapt itself to its own business environments. Therefore it is based on the main principles of systems thinking and multiple futures. For the purpose of dealing with such uncertainties, this paper attempts to develop the possible market scenarios of the u-City construction market in S.Korea through a scenario planning approach. From this perspective, we considered various aspects of the u-City construction such as market demands, technology development, policy level and management environment. After considering the relevant issues, we identified the main trends and key uncertainties. Finally, we developed three coherent u-City construction market scenarios. Construction firms can use these scenarios as a basic reference for market analysis and business strategy. Therefore, this paper is able to enhance the participation of construction firms in the u-City construction market.
