  • This study develops a business ethics education program and verifies its effects through the implementation of a program for fashion companies. Questionnaires obtained from 161 fashion companies were submitted for an analysis of the education needs of business ethics components using the Borich's Needs Assessments Model and the Locus for Focus model. The business ethics component in the highest rank of the education need was 'promoting social contribution (PSC)'. An education program of PSC was developed based on the problem-based learning method and was implemented for 180 minutes on the CEOs or managerial board members of eleven fashion companies. Education participants showed an improvement in the perceptions of the business ethics component after the education seminar. The self-efficacy and the education effect perceived by participants were maintained 70 days after education. This study is meaningful to gain an empirical evidence of the positive effect of business ethics education implemented on the practitioners of fashion companies. The results will provide a knowledge base and a guideline for business ethics education in the fashion industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the introduction of 'business performance evaluation program' on the changes in organizational culture and employee commitment. The data for this study were collected three times, in 2006, 2008, and 2009 from the employees at a public hospital in Korea. The main findings of this study are as follows. 1. Organizational culture has gradually changed as the 'business performance evaluation program' was introduced and implemented. Regarding the changes in the different type of culture, we can see that group culture, developmental culture and rational culture has been stronger and, on the other hand, the introduction of 'the program' did not have as much impact on the hierarchical culture as on the other types of culture. 2. The group culture has have more impact on the organizational commitment than other types of culture. In case of the hierarchical culture, however, statistically significant relationships could not be found between the organizational commitment and the introduction of business performance evaluation program.

  • As insurers have undergone changing customer expectations, increased cross-industry competition and restructured distribution channels, they need to enhance customer relationships, cut costs, increase agility and streamline operations while differentiating the core competency. As such, the importance of e-business transformation has increased where organizational core processes are restructured around customers and interned-based technology is adopted for flexible and adaptive information systems. This paper presents a case study of process innovation for e-business transformation in a Korea-based leading property & casualty insurance company. The company initiated three years-long e-business transformation program to remain competitive and to keep sustainable growth under risky and down economy. The program, which covered enterprise-wide business processes such as product, marketing & sales, customer, claim, investment & loan, accountings, etc., included redesigning processes from customers' viewpoint and then implementing process-aligned information systems. Leadership, sponsorship, change management, performance measurement, business and IT alignment, empowerment, and customized methodology, were emphasized throughout the program. As a result, the company could expect not only improvements in customer-centricity, sales productivity, and operational excellence but also increased revenues and profits in the next three years. The presented case addresses a feasible approach for enterprise-wide e-business transformation. Although the strategies, actions, and business and IT models are not described in detail due to confidentiality, the methodology and the success factors would be applicable to other insurers and possibly organizations in different industries.

  • This study aims to analyze the household economic behavior of salt farmers participants in Salt Business Empowerment Program (Pugar) including of salt production, work flow, household revenue, the behavior of consumption of food and non-food items and the welfare level. This research followed a survey method by engaging 32 household farmers as participants. The findings revealed that the empowerment program was carried out through the technical assistance of salting production and the assistance of equipment and technology from Thread of Screw Filter and geoisolators to improve the quality of salt. The problems come when the marketing of salt is still limited to the collectors of salt which led to the price of salt level, manufacturers have not remained stable. Household revenue sources for some salt farmers also come from non-salt pond business activities. Farmer household revenue can be used to meet staple food consumption and non-food staple consumption. Based on the indicators of family welfare, households participating in the empowerment program were group into the category of prosperous families. In order to stabilize the price of salt at the producer level, government intervention in the people's salt trading system is needed.

  • When the program voltage is applied to a word line, a part of the boosted channel charge in inhibited bit lines is lost due to the coupling between the string select line (SSL) and the adjacent word line. This phenomenon causes the program disturbance in the cells connected to the inhibited bit lines. This program disturbance becomes more serious, as the word line pitch is decreased. To reduce the word line coupling, the rising edge of the word-line voltage waveform was changed from a pulse step into a ramp waveform with a controlled slope. The word-line ramping circuit was composed of a timer, a decoder, a 8 b D/A converter, a comparator, and a high voltage switch pump (HVSP). The ramping voltage was generated by using a stepping waveform. The rising time and the stepping number of the word-line voltage for programming were set to $\mutextrm{m}-$ and 8, respectively,. The ramping circuit was used in a 512Mb NAND flash memory fabricated with a $0.15-\mutextrm{m}$ CMOS technology, reducing the SSL coupling voltage from 1.4V into a value below 0.4V.

  • This study evaluates the effect of structured debriefing for a business simulation game for university students. The program provides an authentic learning experience of real-world business management by allowing learners to make decisions related to R&D, marketing, production, and finance through a business simulation game, and check the results in real time. In 2022, University A and B each ran a business simulation game-based program as an extra-curricular activity. University A conducted a traditional instructor-led debriefing where the instructor explained the summarized process and results, while University B implemented a structured debriefing which had been developed based on Gibbs' and 3D models. To assess the effect of the structured debriefing compared to the traditional instructor-led debriefing, business knowledge and entrepreneurship competencies were measured three times. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to test for the differences between the two groups and to examine interaction effects between group and time. The structured debriefing group achieved statistically significantly higher academic scores than the traditional instructor-led debriefing group at the post-test and in 2 weeks. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of entrepreneurship competencies. There was no interaction effect between group and time, both in academic achievement and in entrepreneurship competencies. In conclusion, the simulation game-based program integrated with the structured debriefing session is more likely to have a stronger impact on academic achievement and its retention.

  • This study is aimed to analyze economic effectiveness of the sea cucumber seed releasing program in Gyeongsangbuk-do region. Based on the surveyed data, the production value of released sea cucumber and the seed releasing program cost are estimated and compared to determine the economic validity of the sea cucumber seed releasing program. Results show that the B/C ratio, as an indicator of economic evaluation, is 2.0, indicating that the sea cucumber seed releasing program in Gyeongsangbuk-do region would be economically feasible under the current production and market conditions. Sensitivity analyses of main variables indicate that the economic effectiveness can be increased when the recapture rate would be increased and the seed price of sea cucumber would be decreased.
