  • This study examines the roles of intangible and tangible resources of Korean business groups on internationalization by their member firms. Specifically, we argue that not all affiliates receive same benefit from group-level resource sharing. Instead, the effect of group-level knowledge sharing on affiliates' internationalization depends on individual affiliates' relative financial positions within a business group. Using samples of business groups in Korea, chaebols, hereafter chaebols, we find that foreign market knowledge at the group level has a positive impact on the internationalization of affiliated firms while the product knowledge has no impact. Furthermore, we also find evidences that an affiliate with high level of financial capacity receives internal pressures to stay in domestic market to secure internal capital market and support other sister affiliates' international activities.

  • Purpose: Current research aimed at exploring whether group entitativity and satisfaction to becoming the member of group have positive effects on group identification, and whether group identification has positive effects on within-in-group domain consumption. This research focused on the mediation role of group identification in the effects of the group entitativity and the satisfaction to becoming the member of group on the within-in-group domain consumption. Research design, data, and methodology: We selected Shandong Province as our experimental target group and people living in Shandong province as our respondents. 316 questionnaire data were collected. The structural equation model in AMOS 26 were used to verify hypotheses. Results: First, group entitativity affected group identification positively. Second, satisfaction to becoming the member of group affected group identification positively. Third, group identification positively influenced on the within-in-group domain consumption. Fourth, the group identification played the full mediation roles in the effects of both the group entitativity and the satisfaction on the within-in-group domain consumption. Conclusions: marketers should highlight the group identification with their target group by stimulating the perception of the consumer's group entitativity and satisfied feelings about the group to induce the intent to purchase their brand as within-in-group domain consumption object.

  • The present study aims to investigate the perceived usefulness of business coaching as a moderator between the association of entrepreneurial competencies and business success of women micro-entrepreneurs. This study employs a stratified random sampling technique to collect data from women micro-entrepreneurs who attended business coaching sessions. In total, 261 questionnaires were distributed and collected. This study has divided the moderator (i.e., perceived usefulness of business coaching) into two groups, namely, group 1 (with a low mean) and group 2 (with a high mean) for moderation analysis. By using a comparative analysis of the path coefficient for groups 1 and 2, the path is moderated by the perceived usefulness of business coaching if the beta value for group 1 is significant, and the beta value for group 2 is non-significant. The results show that eight out of a total of sixteen hypotheses were supported, while the remaining hypotheses were rejected. The findings of the study suggest that the domains of entrepreneurial competencies for women micro-entrepreneurs, including strategic, commitment, conceptual, opportunity, and relationship competencies, together with the perceived usefulness of business coaching, are vital for the business success and should remain the principal focus of future research in women entrepreneurship.

  • Color dimming technology has been developed for high color gamut and aggressive power saving. In our new algorithm, we proposed a new concept of 'color class', with which it is possible to control RGB color luminance effectively and exactly. We reached color gamut of 155% of NTSC 1976 and reduced power consumption under 100 watt for 46 inch LCD.

  • Circular shareholding refers to a situation where at least three member firms in a business group have stock in other member firms and establish a series of ownership in a circular way. Although many studies have focused on the ultimate effect of circular shareholding on firm's value and profitability, there have been few studies which address how to resolve circular shareholding from the perspective of optimization theory. This paper proposes a heuristic method for identifying shareholdings which need to be cleared in order to settle the problem of circular shareholding in a business group. The proposed heuristic tries to maximize the sum of voting rights the controlling family has in its business group firms. The applications results confirm that the heuristic provides near-optimal solutions for most of 16 Korean large business groups involving circular shareholding.

  • A venture business plays important roles in the economy of a developing nation. It makes highly value-added product, increases employment and improves the industry structure. The objective of this study is to derive the financial and non-financial characteristics from venture businesses, which determine a highly successful business group or a less successful business group. The firm characteristics are composed of 21 financial(liquidity, leverage, cash flow, activity, productivity, and etc) and 34 non-financial characteristics(manager, technology, marketability and credibility variables), which have been considered as the key characteristics for venture business by the existing literature. All financial ratios and non-financial characters play a role of making discriminations between a highly successful and a less successful group. Because there are not generally accepted definitions, classifying a highly successful and a less successful venture business is a very difficult problem. Operational definitions have many problems but we have no choice in current stage.

  • This study evaluates the effect of structured debriefing for a business simulation game for university students. The program provides an authentic learning experience of real-world business management by allowing learners to make decisions related to R&D, marketing, production, and finance through a business simulation game, and check the results in real time. In 2022, University A and B each ran a business simulation game-based program as an extra-curricular activity. University A conducted a traditional instructor-led debriefing where the instructor explained the summarized process and results, while University B implemented a structured debriefing which had been developed based on Gibbs' and 3D models. To assess the effect of the structured debriefing compared to the traditional instructor-led debriefing, business knowledge and entrepreneurship competencies were measured three times. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to test for the differences between the two groups and to examine interaction effects between group and time. The structured debriefing group achieved statistically significantly higher academic scores than the traditional instructor-led debriefing group at the post-test and in 2 weeks. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of entrepreneurship competencies. There was no interaction effect between group and time, both in academic achievement and in entrepreneurship competencies. In conclusion, the simulation game-based program integrated with the structured debriefing session is more likely to have a stronger impact on academic achievement and its retention.

That is to say, while the firm's information system performance, e-business realization and the inter group competition dominance are affected positively by the e-process strategy, web application strategy and customer attracting strategy. This confirms that the information system performance, the realization performance and the competition dominance are affected by e - business strategy type. The key factor leading to the success of e-business is the commitment of e-process strategy and web application strategy. For the case of the customer attracting strategy the result shows the importance of the strategy. In the cluster group analysis, the additional analysis, the effect is seen to be more powerful in the firm's information system performance, e - business realization and securing the competition advantage for the case of the multiple strategy than that of single one. Accordingly, the firm needs to adopt the multiple strategy suited for the characteristic of the firm rather than the single strategy.

Cluster analysis and in-depth interview was performed to identify meaningful segment market. The result of the research found three segment market such as seafood integration familiarity group, domestic seafood familiarity group, seafood unfamiliarity group. Seafood integration familiarity group is active consumer that consume both domestic and imported seafood at home. This group have high preference and familiarity about seafood. Seafood familiarity group purchase imported seafood for the reason that imported seafood is cheaper than domestic seafood and have similar quality level. Domestic seafood familiarity group consume mostly domestic seafood and not purchase imported seafood for the reason that imported seafood have low quality and safety. This group have high preference and familiarity about seafood. Seafood unfamiliarity group is low preference group about seafood and seldom eat at home.
