  • Changes in marketing environment have made it feasible for functions and roles of marketing subjects who participated in marketing routes to be changed. However, there has not been a study to prove it or to deal with newly required functions. Hereupon, this study has specifically investigated and analyzed marketing functions and performance on marketing associates for seafood in Busan in order to identify how marketing functions influenced on marketing performance. Marketing function might differently influence on the performance depending on the difference of business type. Results of verifying the hypothesis are as follows. • This paper examines whether the combination of risk management and audit committee functions are associated with audit report lag. Audit report lag is considered an important aspect of the financial reporting. The financial reports are the main source of information for shareholders through which they make their decisions and it assists in reducing the information asymmetry. As the internal control mechanisms substitute the external ones, the internal board committees formed by the board of directors can reduce the audit work and, consequently, reduces the audit report lag. A key committee is the risk management committee. This paper examines whether the combination of risk management and audit committee functions are associated with audit report lag. We posit that a combination of such functions in one committee refereed as audit committee affects the audit report delay. Data were obtained from 198 manufacturing companies listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) for the years 2016-2018. A pooled OLS regression analysis shows that a combination of risk management and audit committee functions in a stand-alone committee named "audit committee" is associated with longer audit report lag. The outcomes suggest companies should prioritize the establishment of standalone risk management committee with activities separated from those of audit committees.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the business process and management characteristics of the university financial support project to define the function for the integrated information management system of the university financial support project. To this end, we reviewed the characteristic and business process of university financial support project and defined six common functions. In order to establish an integrated system applying the derived functions, the first things to be done need to standardize the business management system considering integration and to arrange the accounting regulations. Based on the functions and implications defined from this paper, we think that it will be helpful to design an integrated information management system for university financial support project.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive a model of urban regeneration business using idle facilities in the old city center. The scope of the study was set as empty houses and empty stores owned by private companies, and analyzed the 50 central city revitalization projects using idle facilities in 14 local cities in Japan. The results of this study are follows; First, as an urban regeneration strategy using idle facilities in the old town, it was a combination of other functions centering on commercial functions or introducing new functions required in the city center. Second, various financial supports have been provided to induce the utilization of idle facilities by the private sector, and different strategies have been implemented for businesses that need maintenance first. Third, based on the analysis results, it was possible to derive urban regeneration business model. Fourth, in order to operate smooth business, it is a need for an organization that is in charge of reviewing the consistency of upper-level planning and urban guiding functions such as urban revitalization plan, balance review of expenditure and revenues by cost subsidy and loan repayment, consultation among the business partners.

  • In this study, the business structure and characteristics of buying offices used by buyers for apparel productions through global sourcing were analyzed in specifics. Data were acquired through in-depth interviews of twelve merchandisers at representative apparel buying offices. The results of this study can be summarized as following. The business structure of a buying office varied depending on the functions, the item characteristics of products to be manufactured or the characteristics of the major buyers who were the customers. Overall, teams were formed by brands or organizations were formed by functions. Functional teams were divided within each brand team when business teams were divided by brands and personnel was divided by brands occasionally within each functional team when business teams were divided by functions. Business teams were composed of MR which managed the overall business about orders such as factory sourcing, price decision and production management and teams with various specialized skills. The teams with specialized skills were composed of Technical team, Fabric Development team, Colorist team, Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) team, Logistics team, Factory Audit team, and etc. For the future directions on the improvements, ways to increase international competitiveness of buying offices need to be researched and many expressed the opinion that it would be effective to move the offices to countries close to buyers or manufacturing locations as most buyers demand lower prices and shorter lead time than before and it is increasing trend for buyers and factories to do business directly without buying offices in the middle.

  • Recently, many companies and organizations have interests in 'Business Process Management Systems (BPMS)'. In this research, we surveyed and analyzed the objects and the required functions of BPMS for companies to implement BPMS. The Delphi Method was employed for this research. As a result, the categorization of the objectives and required functions, and weights representing the importance of functions are established. Finally, discussions on the framework to evaluate and select the effective BPMS solutions for each company or organization are proved.

  • This study investigated the antecedents and the performance impact of two types of Smartphone functions (communication vs. computing functions) in organizational environment and the moderating impact of Smartphone users' organizational roles. More specifically, identifying two distinct types of Smartphone functions such as communication functions and computing functions (including informational, social network, and resource management functions), we investigated the impact of three antecedents (Smartphone dependency, task mobility, and perceived critical mass) on the use of the two Smartphone functions and how organizational workers' perceived performance gains differ by using these two different Smartphone functions for their workplace activities. We tested our hypotheses with survey data collected from 176 organizational workers. Our findings suggest that Smartphone dependency, task mobility and perceived critical mass of Smartphone use are significantly associated with the use of the two different functions, and that the use of computing functions is more strongly associated with perceived performance gain than the use of communication functions. We also found that managerial roles played by individual workers differently moderate the impact of Smartphone use on perceived performance gain. The present findings enable researchers and practitioners to better understand the impact of Smartphone use in workplaces.

  • Recently, many people are interesting for Start-up and government also try to support their business because it can contribute economic growth. However, in Korea, despite there are many education and supporting programs for them, many Start-ups are failed to retain their business because they actually do not know what they do. Although prior studies for Start-up have pointed that education for them is very important for success, education programs for them only focus on theories rather than practices. Moreover, Start-ups need tools for supporting to business plans or information for their business. Therefore, in this study, we propose IT service functions for Start-up information system supporting Start-up competency. For this purpose, we conduct Delphi and Importance-Performance Analysis with experts on start-up. In experiments, we divided stage of business into three stages; business planning, implementation, growth and diversification. And we draw important tasks from experts in each stage. As a result, we find some tasks to concentrate for Start-up information systems. And we also find tasks which are not important for company founders. Through these results, we expect that the development of functions for supporting those important tasks will help increase the efficiency of Start-up companies and the survival rate of them.

  • It is well known that the orthogonal function is a very useful to estimate an unknown inputs in the linear dynamic systems for its recursive algebraic algorithm. At this aspects, derivative operation(matrix) of orthogonal functions(walsh, block pulse and haar) are introduced and shown how it can useful to design an UIO(unknown inputs observer) design.
