A Study on the Information Use Behaviors of Researchers in the Field of Business Administration for Improving Information Services (정보서비스 개선을 위한 경영학분야 연구자의 정보이용행태에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze researchers' information use behaviors in the field of business administration in order to provide library services based on user information needs. The methods of this study targeted the members of K Society in the business administration field, and employed user survey using a web-based questionnaire. A total of 202 users answered the questionnaire. The questionnaire focused on items such as by age and status, general information use, electronic resources use, SNS and mobile services information use, library and information center use, and specialized business administration library use. The results of this study suggested improving several library services.

A Study on the Framework of New Business Administration (신경영학 프레임워크 연구)

  • This study was performed to derive a new business administration framework based on the service philosophy established in the previous research. We proposed a business administration system that reflects the changes of modern economic society and solves problems of existing business administration. The problem of the existing business administration is analyzed by analyzing the essential problems of business administration as a discipline and the practical problems of current business administration. New management theory must have a status as an intrinsic discipline, so it must meet the common principles of human society. The principles of universe and the life principle of mankind, which are the environment in which human beings live, were reflected. As a result of deriving these common principles, qualification requirements as the intrinsic disciplines of business administration can be defined. The new business administration discipline is constructed in three fields. Business philosophy, a theory of manager, and business administration skills are three sub-fields of new business administration. We define the detailed structure of each field of new business administration and present the main research topics. In the future, further research is needed to deepen the culture of essence in business administration, and it is necessary to study the construction of the new business administration theory in detailed field.

  • Study of IFI(Integrated Field Innovation) means change of management. This study sill introduces IFI which is a new methodology of change and innovation of workers, and will describe how workers participated in the activities voluntarily. The principle of IFI is that letting employees to find the problems of the sites -anything that makes employees considering as the problem while they are working-and solve those problems through any tools own their own. Workers do not have to waste their time on bounding by unnecessary tools and processes. There are some cases that company "D" has been actually applied the IFI methodology in 2008. By application of IFI methodology to "D" company, which is proved that methodology is good change management program for workers who work in the manufacturing field.

The Effect of Corporate Governance on the Board of Directors' Characteristics and Sustainability Disclosure: An Empirical Study from Thailand

  • The objective of this research is to investigate how the board of directors' characteristics influence sustainability disclosures with the mediating effect of corporate governance. The independent variables are the characteristics of the board of directors, which consist of the presence of women on the boards, presence of directors aged over 50 years old, education level, education field, board tenure, and compensation. The dependent variable is sustainability disclosures, which is measured by the GRI standard disclosure, whereas the mediator variable is the CG score. Research samples are 460 companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). Path Analysis is used to examine the correlation between the board of directors' characteristics, CG score, and GRI standard disclosure. The research findings show that senior boards, the education field, and compensation motivation have an effect on sustainability disclosures, whereas corporate governance is a mediator of the effect of the education field of boards on sustainability disclosures. This finding should help shareholders to choose individuals with suitable characteristics to serve on the board of directors, and, as a result, shareholders should anticipate a profitable result to be generated, while the business of the company is conducted in a sustainable way.

  • The driving force of the manufacturing field is members' mind-set and activity. However, there is no appropriate program of change management for workers who work in the manufacturing field. Most of the small group activities were focused on the fixed tools and processes to make improvement only, not the change itself. Therefore, it was difficult to have self generating energy without actually motivating people of change. Study of IFI(Integrated Field Innovation) means change of management. This study will introduces IFI which is a new methodology of change and innovation of workers, and will describe how workers participated in the activities voluntarily.   • The Equilibrium Theory is one of the key theories on the study of maintenance and continuance of organization. A contributor or participant of the business organization has been given the needed incucements and motivated to join in business. To keep this situation balanced is, so-called, the organization equilibrium. C. I. Barnard was the first to research this, and that J. G. March and H. A. Simon advanced it. Modern organization theory is not only the equilibrium theory but continuance theory of organization. That is, the continuance of business administration organization relies on the willingness to cooperate with which the participants in business try to devote themselves to business. The organization itself is not only combined with its members and assets but a kind of behaviour system which every member makes an effort to contribute. On a view of dynamics, organization remains, prospers and deceases in process of its formation, disorganization and reformation. But taking consideration into going concern, it is necessary that we should plan to strike a balance of business administration organization. We can write down the proposition of this theory as follows: The continuance and growth of organization=inducements contribution The basic idea of this theory was established by C. I. Barnard. But it implied many problems such as incorrect statistical measures and the defects of objectivity. These problems were more or less rearranged and improved by so-called March-Simon's equilibrium theory. Especially March-Simon's general models of organization equilibrium are a great success in this field. In the future, these problems mentioned above will be a challenge to workers in this field how we shall diminish the defects to the minimum and how perfectly we can progress it.

Knowledge Mapping of Robotic Applications in Tourism and Hospitality

  • The use of robots in tourism and hospitality contexts have drawn increasing scholarly and practical regard. Although the number of recent robotics related studies continue to grow, a general knowledge map, which is important to point out promising directions for future studies, remains to be made. To understand the application of robotics in tourism and hospitality, this study conducts descriptive and bibliometric analysis to present a holistic knowledge map of this specific field where research trend, key contributors, highly cited references, and popular themes were identified. Collaboration networks among institutes and regions were additionally illustrated. Collaboration across fields, industries, and perspectives were encouraged following the findings and both theoretical and practical implications are accordingly provided.

KODISA Academic Journal Strategy: Synopsis in 2016 and Vistas of the Future

  • Purpose - The Education Ministry has plans to select top 10 percent academic journals among the domestic registration journals in NRF(National Research Foundation of Korea), and designate them as outstanding academic journals. To reflect this trend, KODISA has set its sights on paper publication rate and citation index with pushing forward globalism. First, this study will arrange the process of globalism and the current state of paper submission, and propose the direction of improvement in academic journals through understanding the characteristics of each major field. Research design, data, and methodology - KODISA has preceeded in examining and publishing research papers related to distribution field through indirectly or stimulating academic advancement. KODISA covers the whole fields in social science as well as in business administration and economics that associated with distribution field not limiting only within the range of distribution field. That is, the new subject that contributes to the progress in distribution field with original research can be a priority criteria in KODISA journal publication. Results - The major fields in papers published in KODISA can be categorized broadly as distribution field with economic and business administration point of view. Therefore, the distribution field with economic point of view includes the issues such as regulations, system, industry, market environment, distribution system, trade, and macroeconomics, etc. The business administration point of view in distribution includes distribution strategy, distribution organization, and distribution channel from the perspectives of the firm, etc. Conclusions - The aim of KODISA in 2020 is to be a global academic journal as SCI level of each journal in KODISA, JDS(Registration journal), IJIDB(Registration candidate), EAJBM(Registration candidate), JAFEB(Cabell's Registration journal). The KODISA journals have already settled as the largest academic society and journals of Korea in 2016 currently from humanities and social sciences area by the most gross in publication circulation, volumes, and types. Hereafter, KODISA will focus on the improvement for the objective indicators such as Impact Factor and Centrality index as qualitative growth as well as quantitative expansion. By doing so, KODISA will be a forum for developmental academic debate with attracting the world's greatest scholars' papers. Furthermore, they will be recognized journals and grow as the first-rate academic journals inside and outside of Korea.

Prospects and Challenges of Implementing Cloud Accounting in Bangladesh

  • The objectives of this study are to understand the meaning of cloud accounting, to investigate whether it is favorable for performance of the organization and what are the challenges if a country like Bangladesh wants to implement it. Primary data have been collected from 300 respondents selected from the field of accounting, such as accountants, accounting graduates of different universities, teachers and bankers. To measure the reliability and validity of the sample size and data, KMO and Bartlett's test have been adopted and the results proved to be reliable and valid for the study. Regression analysis has been done to find out the positive impact of cloud accounting on organizational performance and negative impact of cloud accounting on existing accounting system of the organization. The results of regression analysis supported our alternative hypotheses that cloud accounting can improve organizational performance, but it has also some negative impacts. Descriptive statistics have been used to find out the probable challenges that may be faced by organizations that want to implement it. This is a pioneering study because there is little research on this topic, thus it is expected to develop awareness about cloud accounting in field of accounting in Bangladesh.

A Case Study of CALS Planning Process on Public Administration Sector: A Case of Firm C (공공행정 기관의 CALS 계획수립 사례 연구: C 사의 사례)

  • CALS has been a hot issue in the industry related to the information technology in order to achieve the strategic competitive advantage, especially in the field of logistics and manufacturing firms. Nonetheless, while there is an abundance of literature advocating the strategic role of the concept in the field of logistics and manufacturing firms, little attention has been given to the planning process to be applied to public administration sectors. This research conducts a case study on Firm C, which is one of the government institutes, investigating its planning processes for which CALS concept should be applied. Based on the analysis of the document and interviews with the author, by applying information system planning and value chain models, this paper concludes that CALS concept can be successfully applied to the public administration sectors likewise industry sectors.
